The Pancake Chef

This is such a lovely spot. It's clean, has fast service, and a robust menu. Note: they are currently serving a limited menu but hopefully they'll get back to their full menu soon. They recommended the German pancake but alas, I have one stomach and it really wanted the pancake sandwich. It was exactly as described: pancakes, egg (as you like it - aka Sunnyside or you're wrong :)), and bacon (or links). They offer 3 jams/syrups: maple, pineapple, marionberry. I got the pancake sandwich and got to try all the syrups on it. Maple was my favorite but then when mixed with the marionberry, it was even better! They are clearly a favorite breakfast place for the locals, the servers often knew customers by name and spoke to them like old friends. It was heartwarming. I'd go back to work through the menu.

Came by from a recommendation from the Hilton hotel staff. Tje staff is friendly and attentive. Delicious breakfast. Pancake was fluffy and on point. When in Seattle, will definitely return!

Upon arrival, we noticed the restaurant was a bit dirtier than we would have preferred, which initially dampened our excitement. Despite the restaurant being about half full, we still experienced a considerable wait time. However, our server was efficient, albeit a bit too brisk, which made us feel rushed while ordering our meal.When our food finally arrived, it was disappointing to find that my side order of hash browns was missing, especially after the prolonged wait. The pancakes, while not unpleasant, lacked that special something that makes them memorable. On the brighter side, the Mexican Omelette, though underwhelming in portion size, managed to salvage our meal with its flavorful taste.

We arrived at about 9AM with a group of 24 residents from Wesley Des Moines. They were ready for us and seated us quickly. Tables were already set with glasses of water, menus, silverware and coffee cups. A server asked each of us if we wanted coffee and came back quickly to take orders. Server ID 9 was very efficient and took all of our orders. The food arrived quickly and everyone got what they had requested. Coffee and water were regularly refilled without asking. This place has been in business for many years and some of our residents said they had been coming there since the 70s. Our service was excellent and everything I saw at our table was generous and looked delicious. we definitely plan to come back on our own.

GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS! Waffle House of Washington but with MORE!!!! Stopped by one freezing morning on my quest for GF options around the Seattle metro area and came across this historic WA treasure! Excellent customer service! Staff was friendly and welcoming! Accommodating in every way and made me feel comfortable and cozy while dining solo. Ms. Barbara is an absolute gem and true master in her craft! Every diner style restaurant needs one of her! Inside gives me an old local diner vibe with an open kitchen and plenty of seating. Tables are close but it just feels right. Food was tasty! Good, fresh, and hearty breakfast with THE BEST GF PANCAKE I've ever tried! I was definitely impressed by the syrup caddy featuring - Maple, Blueberry, and house made Cranberry syrup! New local favorite!

Still a great place for breakfast. Much more offerings than just pancakes but the Blueberry Stack gets my vote most times. Very good food and even better service. These guys know what they are doing. Give it a try!

Came here for breakfast. We were greeted right away and were given a table. I requested for fresh orange juice and it was fresh! It had a slight bitter after taste but still super good. I ordered the Little Richard's which came with corned beef hash, hash browns, and 2 sunny side up eggs. The corned beef had a crunchy crust, the hash browns had a nice crust on the outside while still soft on the inside. When our food was close to coming out, our server brought us all the syrups and jams for our food. The only downside of this place is it's a TON of food. I was waddling after lol

Older place but great food and staff.Stopped by after a workout and before going to work.The hostess / server that met me at the door was very nice and friendly.I got my treat - pancakes and bacon.The food was hot and good but more importantly quick. All I had was water but everyone there looked like they were having a good time.Don't know if I'll be back but if I do and I'm on this side of town at breakfast time, I'll swing through.

I have been there 2 times now and they are closed.the first Time we went there they locked the door while I had my hand on it. They pot up a sign saying that they are closing early 11:00 bye to being short handed. They had 8 costumers standing at the door.Today I actually looked on their web site to see if they were open today , there was nothing indicating they were closed, so we went. It is about 40 - 50 minutes from where we live. Guess what closed again. SORRY THERE WILL NOT BE A THIRD TIME!!!!!Negative 5 stars!

We didn't get to try the food because it is closed! Even if Yelp said it was open. Very disappointing!!! We Uber-ed here from the airport only to find it closed.
