Pretty, pretty, pretty good! Even though I had to come up with about five different reasons why my daughters would not be ordering the gigantic rainbow cone itself, this was a win after lunch. To set the scene: it's a beautiful, perfect Chicago afternoon overlooking the lake, first day of vacation. A bit worn out from exploring the Field Museum just footsteps away, and needing a pick me up, and here's this gigantic ice cream truck with no line. We tried a few samples and I could tell the ice cream here was better than average, IMO. One kid got a scoop of orange sherbet, the other a birthday cake, I got pistachio almond, and my wife got chocolate chip. Classics through and through and each one very good, even the birthday cake one.We found a nice bench in a butterfly garden outside the museum, and the vibes were immaculate.

A must when visiting the Museum Campus! I ordered the Rainbow Original waffle cone and it was phenomenal! The ice cream flavors are out of this world and the waffle cone was so fresh. Service was quick & friendly. Worth the $ in my opinion for a Chicago classic. Highly recommend!

First time trying the Original Rainbow Cone after living in Chicago for almost two years and wow, didn't know I needed to try this! I could eat a tub of the orange sherbet - childhood memories of the orange creamsicle and so yummy. Same with chocolate and strawberry with some chunks in there! Least favorite flavor was probably the Palmer House because it just tastes pretty sweet with not much vanilla or any other flavor. The pistachio had a slight almond flavor which I didn't mind because I love almond desserts, but it was sort of grainy.Love that these trucks are in so many places, will definitely be getting again!

Great Orange Sherbert & Cookies/Cream waffle cone. Beware you seemingly can't ask questions of the Matilda the Hun staff member... she's rude. Asking her about flavors was to much of an imposition in her slow work day. The other young lady was much more polite and helpful. Then had the mitigated gall to ask if a tip should be added. Absolutely not.

After checking out the Shedd Aquarium, I wanted to try the Original Rainbow Cone, which has been a Chicago staple since 1926. It was ready within minutes of placing the order. The waffle cone was stacked with slices of Chocolate Ice Cream, Strawberry Ice Cream, Palmer House Ice Cream, Pistachio Ice Cream, and Orange Sherbet. It was delicious and a great way to cool off on a hot summer day!

I had a raspberry lemon sorbet at this location which was ok. My biggest peeve was that there was a big blob of dairy ice cream stuck to the bottom of the cup. I don't do dairy and the taste made me squeamish. I am not lactose intolerant so it didn't affect me badly but if I'd been, itv would have been a bad situation. The vendors should be careful to avoid contamination as those ordering sorbets could be lactose or dairy intolerant.
