The Northern Public House

My husband and I wanted to try a place we hadn't been to before and decided to give this place a shot the other night for dinner despite the bad reviews. What a dumb choice. We should have listened to them. It's seat yourself so we grabbed a table. And then waited and waited to even be noticed. The poor waitress was clearly slammed and was handling half the restaurant by herself. It was really understaffed. We ordered our food and drinks at the same time. I ordered the strawberry drink and French dip and my husband got an old fashioned and pb burger. After a while the drinks came but I didn't get what I ordered. Instead they had done two old fashions. The waitress had dropped them off and run away to her other tables so we had to flag her down to get my correct drink. The strawberry drink wasn't great and didn't have much flavor other than vodka. The food came and I took a nibble of the beef that was hanging out of my sandwich. It was disgusting. It was clearly poor quality lunch meat that they had microwaved. I couldn't eat it and sent it back. It was clear from the waitress's reaction that this happens often. My husband said his burger was overcooked and dry. It definitely looked that way. Don't come here. Trust the reviews and don't make the mistake we did.

Note: I did not get the opportunity to try the food here, this is based on just my experience. I arrived at The Northern Public House in the late evening and when I walked in there was no host/hostess to greet us, so we stood by the door for a few minutes before taking a seat at a table near the window. When we sat down at the table, we were hit hard with the smell of cleaning products, which I guess is good - it means the tables were clean - it was just a strong, slightly off-putting smell. The restaurant/bar was rather dimly lit, which created a nice, casual atmosphere. Felt like a "cool" place to get a 'late-night-bite,' that's why I tried it out. It wasn't too busy, it wasn't slammed. Anyway, after seating ourselves, we proceeded to sit at our table for about 20 minute, in acknowledged, unnoticed, and so we left. Purely from a service perspective it was just disappointing. I can't remember having walked into a restaurant and had multiple members of the serving staff look at me at multiple times, yet no one ever come over to our table or greet us at the door. Service is big to me, so I won't be back.

We had a very good experience here tonight. The service from our sear in the bar area was amazing and the food was excellent! There were three of us and we were greeted immediately and ordered drinks. We ordered two burgers and the fish and chips and all were delivered quickly, hot and delicious. If you want a great experience and equally great food, go try this place out!

Nice casual place to eat, drink, and watch any sporting event in the Mill Creek town center. Their drink choices are include a full bar and large choice of beers on tap from all over the northwest. Their food choices are to be expected anything from a good old burger and fries to pasta and seafood. The service was great and friendly. Staff were very attentive to us even on a Saturday evening dinner rush. We also did not have to wait for a table and was a seat yourself system.

Great pub eatery and the service was great for a weekend afternoon. We just sat at the bar and the bartender was nice. He was busy but still served us well! Average food for your typical pub. Nothing to complain about. Decent food and good spot to watch sports!

First time here and my friend and I enjoyed ourselves for lunch. The fish and chips were above average for most pubs.Wasn't to loud and we could talk.I would go back again.

Steak was cooked perfectly but the salad was way over dressed (soaked in dressing) and did not contain most of the advertised toppings. Fries and deep fried pickles were good. Waitress was friendly and kept our drinks filled without asking.

Good food and great Bartender! Aaron is awesome! We have been there twice now and will be back. the ambience was surprisingly mellow for a sports bar and we enjoyed that. one of the gals was not so friendly but she may have been having a bad day. All in all a great food and drinks spot!

I _hate_ ragging on a local business. It's hard to be a bar or restaurant, for sure, and my star distribution backs that up. I'm more likely to sing praises of the good than to rip on the bad. So let that be a backdrop for the rest what I'm about to say: It was 12:30 on Father's Day, and my wife, sister, and I were hoping for a fairly quick lunch so we could all get back to our kids. We walked in to a mostly empty restaurant and sat ourselves at a 4-High in the bar. The bartender came around quickly to get drink orders, and then everything went downhill.* We waited with empty drinks for ~30 min before I got up and asked the bar tender to come by again so we could put in food orders.* The place filled up after we did.* Food kept coming up at the window, going to other tables, and never coming to ours.* After _90_ minutes, we got a Caesar salad (no protein - WHY would this take 90 min) and a steak salad ($21 for ~3 oz of steak!?!)* The wings and grilled chicken sandwich never came. * I watched 5 orders of wings and several burgers and chicken sandwiches go to other tables.I'd hate to imagine what it's like when they're actually busy. The servers were kind and apologetic, and they took the food we never got off the bill as you'd expect. But that doesn't change the fact that we sat there for what amounted to 2 hours for some leaves in dressing and 3 ounces of protein. No reason it should have taken that long.

I have been here two times and could not really remember if I liked it the first time. The chicken tenders are great. However, whatever seasoning is on the fries is not good at all. The French dip sandwich had good bread, but lacked overall flavor. I don't think I would choose to go back, but would be able to find something to eat if a friend wanted to go.
