The New Look Restaurant

The establishment is rather dark and unwelcoming although the service was quite acceptable. Very hard to observe from the street. Although they ostensibly observe Chicago's "mask mandate" I could not help but observe them "enforce" the policy on a potential customer (great to see) while NONE of the staff wore mask!The food was acceptable though not remarkable. The rib eye was tender, a perfectly grilled medium rare, though palatably under seasoned. The green beans and greens were well seasoned and almost perfectly prepared (green beans a bit soft--they'd be perfect if cooked a minute less, but are cooked to order). The meat loaf was tasty but rather pedestrian. The mashed potatoes were a bit bland and not rescued by the gravy which was good. I suspect neither was prepared to order, unlike the steak and vegetable side offerings.The cornbread was also okay--great flavor but not spectacular.I'll return to further explore the menu offerings, but can only offer a 7 out of 10 today. The food is above average, but nothing to write home about.

I have not tasted the food yet. Ive Order for delivery 5pm it's now 753pm and the delivery driver has been waiting in restaurant for food pickup. My 1st time order and the last time. Way to slow ridiculous.Finally received order and it was incorrect. Did not ask for regular fries ask for sweet potato fries. Also they gave me candy yams . I did not order yams.

Just I can't I found hair in my food bad table assistance and I didn't get what I want I had to wait longer by that time I was done but I payed good money so why waste it do not go here it is horrible any way McDonald's would be better off than this

This food was good. Found them on Uber Eats. Ordered the ribeye steak (medium rare) with macaroni and cheese and collard greens. EVERYTHING was delicious! The steak was well seasoned and came with sautéed green peppers and red onions, which was a nice touch. The macaroni and cheese was baked, but still creamy. Collards were great too. Overall, no complaints and I'll order again.

Great service, good food. It's kinda hard to find, pretty dim inside. Wasn't too much going on. Try the pan seared lemon and dill catfish!!!

We have been supporting this place for years. Good service at times, poor service at times. But our last visit was the final visit. We live nearby and love to support the local business especially Black owned. We came in with a party of 8 plus our 4 year old granddaughter. To be brief the waitress was fairly new and nice but got some of the orders wrong, and as usual, they where "out" of several menu items! One order was so wrong, my friend sent it back and ordered Uber Eats as she sat there hungry watching us eat. Her food was delivered and she ate it right there...Yes, she's that petty! It's simple, be sure the chef has the correct order, then double-check the orders as they come out! Also, due to COVID-19 all food and drink are served in disposable containers (portions seem smaller). Finally, the waitress was busy so I waited for someone to help me with a question, the older lady that works there asked me... "What's Wrong!!?? Not, 'How may I help you'...nothing polite. My response.."Nothings Wrong...I then asked my question. There actually was a lot wrong. Too much wrong over the years and not enough right! It felt like dining there was a nuisance and the bar was more important! Well do the math...our party = $300+, 1 person at the bar $40? It is not a good business plan to treat diners this way! With the lack of attention, lack of menu items, maybe rethink the food and focus on the bar? Good luck.

This place has the most remarkable chef and hostesses!!!! I mean I am blown away I order here maybe once or twice a month and everytime I am never disappointed!!!!!!! I order the steak entree and I always have greens and Mac and cheeeeeese!!!!I recommend eating here if your looking for some of the best southern style cooking on the south side!

We came here after a long bike tour on a Saturday. It was the perfect cap (and the perfect margarita) to the day! Monet was very sweet and the prices were absurdly low. The patio is incredible. I'd like to give them twenty more stars if I could.This is truly a hidden South Side gem!

Not sure if they are new but its terrible. Came in for a quick bite. Waited 20 min for a fried fish sandwich and fries. Had to go, so i called to let them know i couldn't wait outside anymore. They offered to remake when I was free (great). Call at 4:06pm am told my food will be brought to my car. 35 min go by, no food no phone call. Go inside my food is just sitting there on the bar. Something told me to just check the box. There sits catfish. I can't eat catfish. Most places serve cod, or specify if they don't. So now its a total of an hour spent on a sandwich I couldn't even eat. Was offered no apology.

Food is usually good. But today I'm appalled. Cornbread hard as brick and they gave me red beans with no rice...it's called red beans and rice tho Catfish was a child-like portion. Mac n cheese was ok if I had to say something positive about todays experience. $40 down the drain
