Not often do I find a place that has 10/10 service, 10/10 ambiance, and 10/10 food. The Mockingbird was that place. Everything down to the literal toilet was perfect. Moody but vintage decor, a phenomenal waiter, and just a great menu. I got the grits and as someone from the south and often enjoys grits - it was probably some of the best I've ever had. Also, I got the bag punch and it literally came in a bag so funky but also really good! I got it with gin and it was perfect!

What a cute little spot. It's not too casual, but not too dressy. Right in the middle. My friends and I got multiple items to share. We were so pleased with ALL the food we purchased. The star, however, was the little grilled cheese sandwiches. I could have eaten that for my meal!We also had phenomenal service by Mikey. He was delightful. So much personality, and truly made my friends birthday dinner special. 10/10 for the phenomenal food, vibes and service.

It's called The Mockingbird because the menu reflects (or, uh, mocks) the food of the people who live in the neighborhood. You will find American southern food here, mostly. But the chef endeavors to pull ideas from the multiple cultures of the people who live in this area of Nashville, which is a melting pot: Cuban, Mexican, Italian, Korean, French and others. I like it! I like it a lot.I visited The Mockingbird with a group, which was great for me because I got to taste a lot of different things on the menu. (The people I dined with were the best kind of people: People willing to share their food.) We got some appetizers to start. The "I Dip, You Dip, We Dip" is a warm spinach and artichoke situation, which comes with tortilla chips and house-made pita. It was wonderful! I loved dipping the chips the most, because they were super crunchy. Another appetizer we ordered was the "Don't Worry, Brie Happy," which is a whipped brie grilled cheese with chimichurri and jalapeno jam on top. It was lovely and comes as a four-piece, but you can easily cut these in half to share with more people. Our final appetizer was "Rice, Rice Baby," which was basically arancini, but made with pimento cheese. It's served with chamoy sauce. This was probably my favorite! You have to love fried rice balls with a tangy sweet sauce. After all of those appetizers, I just wanted a little salad. So I got the "You Oughta Burrata," which is burrata cheese (my favorite!) served with arugula salad with edamame, cucumber and snap peas, plus grilled crostini. It was perfect! Honestly, I could have eaten this burrata salad alone with a glass of wine and been perfectly happy. And speaking of wine: They have a great wine and other adult beverage menu. My only beef with this restaurant is the cutesy names for everything. I'm an adult, and I never want to utter the words "Don't Worry Brie Happy" or "You Oughta Burrata" ever in my life. Luckily, the servers understood me when I said "the brie appetizer" and "burrata salad."I was super full and couldn't eat another bite, but of course we got dessert. Dessert goes into a different chamber of the stomach -- didn't you know that? Anyway, we got the popular "Let's Get Kooky," which is a couple of giant chocolate chip cookies stacked on top of each other, served with an equally giant scoop of vanilla ice cream. This was big enough for four people to share. Then, because one dessert isn't enough, we got the "Cake," which is a strawberry olive oil cake, layered with liquid cheesecake and milk crumbs. It tastes as amazing as it sounds! I loved this cake the most. If you have to get just one dessert here at The Mockingbird, make it the cake.

Took a nice weekend trip to Nashville for July 4th and Mocking bird was the best brunch I had while down there. I ordered the taco of the town. It was huge but I still managed to finish it. I also tried the Kiss My Grits and added bacon. It was good however, I think the grits could be a bit thicker. I tried the walking dead and an old fashion. Both drinks were surprisingly tasty and balanced my experience was great!

This review is nearly a year late, but I must say The Mockingbird might have been my favorite restaurant during my stay in Nashville last summer. They can fit a ton of people in the dining room, but it never felt cramped. Excellent design. I was in a group of four and we were seated at one of those wrap-around, crescent shaped booths. Super comfortable, and we weren't sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with other diners. How many times have you walked into a restaurant only to find they stack the tables pretty much on top of each other to cram as many people in as possible? Here, they can fit a lot, but you never feel confined.Lots of neat menu items with silly names, like "I dip, you dip, we dip" (spinach & artichoke dip), "Rice, rice, baby" (arancini), and "Love me at my wurst" (pork-ginger bratwurst corn dog). And those were just some appetizers!Personally I went with "Seoul Purpose," which was bulgogi style hanger steak, fried egg, and potato latke waffle. The steak came out sliced and tender, and the fried egg was absolute perfection. It comes out sunny side up with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and chili flakes. With a side of fresh, vibrant green broccolini and wonderfully crisp and sweet waffle, I was in heaven. Each bite was a juicy explosion. Steak and eggs, Korean style! The only thing missing was some hot and tangy kimchi! One of my pals got the house burger, which comes with two patties and gooey cheese melted on top. By default, the burger comes with fries (surprise, surprise), but these are enhanced by a flavorful seasoning blend that kind of resembled the seasoning on top of my egg. Either way, delicious, and a fantastic added touch, as fries can be so boring. Each entree was superb, and portioned in a way that you may have room for dessert. Oftentimes I feel dessert can be a ripoff (may I interest you in an individual pie slice for $10+, by chance?), but here, I'd say you're getting a decent value. First of all, a la mode is king. Whether you get the giant cookie(s), peanut butter cupcake, or strawberry shortcake, a big scoop of vanilla ice cream will always be the perfect compliment in my book. Let me just say, my slice of cake was massive. Just absolutely towering. A true sight to behold, especially with the strawberry glaze running down the sides and vanilla crunchies scattered on top. I never met a crunchy I didn't like.Location is about as downtown as it gets. When we were there, skyscrapers were going up all around. I'm talking entire blocks of construction sites. As you can imagine, that can make parking a bit tricky. We scooted in from across town using the city's complex network of rentable scooters, undoubtedly looking ridiculous, as one would wobbling nervously through multiple lanes of traffic. On the plus side, this review coming nearly a year later may have its benefits, as those buildings may now be finished with new parking options at your disposal. Either way, Mockingbird is definitely a place worth venturing into the city for.

Located a little off the beaten path is The Mockingbird Nashville and it's definitely worth the walk or drive. If you are looking for someplace that is upscale yet casual, chill yet vibrant, this is your place.Since this isn't some "greasy spoon" I decided to go for the Avo Nice Day, added smoked salmon and bacon, and added a side of fries because, you gotta try the fries. The finished result was an undeniable heap but it was delicious! Everything from the balsamic glaze, to the smoked salmon, to the goat cheese paired amazingly together. Honestly, I was so invested in the main, that I was pretty full when I tried the fries and yet still they tasted amazing. My hubby got Tots Alot and the Almond Granola and Yogurt. I had a bite of the tots and they were good. I personally don't think they were good enough to be an entree, but to each their own. I also had a bloody Mary and it was quite nice. The restaurant was clean. The service was on point. This is a great place to eat.

Fun little place to have lunch outside on the patio. Some coworkers and I stumbled upon this place and decided to grab lunch on the patio as it was a beautiful sunny day in Nashville. The staff was very friendly and the food was very tasty. I opted for the Mockingburger, which was super yummy and a bit messy, which made it a bit tricky to eat. The fries were seasoned with something that resembled Old Bay seasoning, very tangy and spicy. Overall it was a solid choice for lunch.

An Amazing brunch awaits at The Mockingbird, plus the place is great about anytime of the day. Here in a sorta Art Deco themed upstairs are creative cocktails, boozy and tasty. Is it the best brunch in Music City? Probably. A great assortment of apps--the huge cinnamon brioche is highly recommended. Then a great assortment of entrees and breakfast dishes. I loved the shrimp and grits. Great service throughout--no one is kept waiting. You really don't want to leave, such a fun place to stay and savor.

Get your butt here for a great Nashville brunch! The service was fun, quick, and easy. The music was great, the bathrooms were so cute, and the whole vibe was so beautiful. The food was a solid 10/10. We had the zucchini bread for a starter and it tasted so fresh and homemade. Each of our meals were incredible and I can't wait to come back to try more options!
