Great vegan menu. The vegan chilaquiles were to die for. I suggest adding avocado which amps up the flavor and creaminess. They also have homemade vegan granola - took a bag of that home. So good! The service was fantastic. Cute restaurant on the bayside of mission beach. Hoppin breakfast place but did not have a long wait at 10am.A must visit for omnis, vegetarians and vegans when in SoCal

A local favorite spot for many who come to mission. The ambiance is casual, good for big groups and early risers. We have been here before, but I never remember what I get! This time we tried the Avocado toast and the French toast with a side of potatoes. The avocado toast was honestly really disappointing. It lacked flavor, even with the beets and orange, I was wanting more goat cheese and I had to salt it a few times. The toast was very much still bread, barely had a crunch. For what it is, I would not get it again sadly. The French toast was good. It had a slightly crispy exterior and nice soft center. The cinnamon flavor wasn't too strong and the syrup was good. The dooda blueberry drizzle around the edge was tasty. Overall, it was good and would probably get again. The potatoes were delicious as always! Honestly I could just eat these straight up. So crispy and flavorful. Definitely worth getting! From what I was told, the rancho verde was good. Nice flavor and a big portion! Our server was very nice, thank you Stella, and overall it was a fine experience. My one callout, sorry, but as a barista, this latte was sad. I didn't even get a picture because it just looked like a coffee. If you're going to serve your lattes in open cups, make sure you know how to at least do a basic design. (This doesn't factor in my review, but it needed to be said)

I don't think I've ever laid just as much for parking as I have for a meal...Parking was $30 for two hours (or less). My meal-Banana French Toast, Side of Chicken Apple Sausage, Scrambled eggs, Rosemary Potatoes, and Fresh Cold Pressed Orange Juice-was $32...AFTER TAXES!!!If I ever returned, I would just wait for some available street parking or park very far away (then walk). As for the meal, it was very mediocre-everything was. I definitely would try other items on the menu. The beat part of the meal was the Chicken Apple Sausage (and that was the only thing that the restaurant didn't make).Nevertheless, the service was very fast! The ambiance isn't any5hing fancy (for this location).

Old time favorite located in the heart of Mission Beach. They've got another location in East Village as well that usually doesn't get as busy. Both locations are somewhat on the smaller side, so if you're going with a group on the weekend or during summer I'd highly recommend getting there early. The menu boasts a number of amazing items, so you can't really go wrong. Only thing I wish they did was bottomless mimosas, but until that day comes I'll settle for purchasing a bottle of bubbles.

I may dream about the banana French toast for years to come. Really good experience at The Mission Café! It was doing brisk and bustling business at about 11a on Saturday morning. We didn't have to wait for a table, thankfully, and our server came over in minutes. I ordered the banana French toast, with a side of cheese eggs and bacon, and my BFF got to loco moco. We both enjoyed our meals, but I think mine was the winner. The banana French toast was truly decadent- the bread was amazing, I thought it was banana bread, but our server said it was their cinnamon bread. It was sweet, dense, covered with bananas and nuts in a sauce with whipped cream. Simply amazing! My eggs and bacon were also great and everything was served piping hot. My friend enjoyed her loco moco as well. The restaurant is very casual and not fancy, which is pretty standard for the area. Total before tip was around $40.

I have had so many club sandwiches, it's always my go to. Let me tell you that this club sandwich is by far the best one I have ever had! It was sooooo good. Perfection! It's a little small and crowded but the food and service make up for it. They have a coffee shop inside with different delicious coffees, teas, pastries. The servers were great. It is a little loud as it's a small space but overall a great spot, really close to the beach as well.

Cheaper than most LA brunches, you can find The Mission Cafe in the popular section of Mission Beach in San Diego. Parking options include street meters or small lots nearby, and wait times can be typical long during weekends. In general, you can't go wrong with the quick service and meals here, all in a bustling and clean cafe. What was surprising here was that the house brewed coffee was surprisingly smooth and not you typical burnt cafe fare, and simply enjoyable. I was very happy to have a good cup of coffee after the long drive to San Diego. The refills kept coming as well. This place is known for their pancakes. The classic buttermilk pancakes were served up thick, evenly griddled and quickly. I definitely recommend this for those who have a hankering for good pancakes. They have all kinds of customizable options if you want more or less butter, and jams/preserves on top as well. In this instance they were able to put granola in the pancake to give it some extra sweetness in every bite. On top of this, I had the Rosemary which is scrambled eggs, rosemary potatoes with tomatoes and scallion, and bacon. I put the bacon aside and really enjoyed the well done eggs and potatoes. This is plenty for one person and won't leave you starving. Overall, the service here is great and it comes together with some excellent cafe options that are well above your standard chains.

A really great spot! Went to SD for the weekend and wanted to get food before heading home. We found this spot by the beach and there was surprisingly no wait for a party of 4 around 10am on a Sunday. They have a really large menu, I had the chilaquiles which were so good and a large portion. They also had a lot of different pancake and French toast options which looked good as well. Service was great and food came out quickly. Would recommend!
