6/4/24 - located in Little Italy, on the corner. There are two entrances and two cashiers. They have a small deli and cheese deli as well. They have a little bit of everything, except baked desserts which I was looking for. I bought a large rosemary and olive oil bread there for about $6. It was fresh and large. Great price for the size of it. As soon as I ate it I forgot I didn't like rosemary bread. LOL. I would go here again and try some other items next time I'm there. A total of 4 stars out of 5.

ITALIAN INGREDIENTS!!! Making my very own homemade Squid Ink pasta - from scratch and needed the main ingredient. I was tipped off by another Italian market that this place might have Squid Ink/Cuttlefish Ink. Indeed they do! I scored a very small jar for $18.99 (so expensive) but that small jar goes a long way. They have all the typical items you see at the other markets on the block but this one sells Squid Ink! FYI, once open needs to be refrigerated for a few weeks before going bad. However, you CAN freeze it to preserve it longer. And only scoop out what you need when needed. I've been making my own fresh pasta noodles for 4+ years and cannot go back to store bought. It just had to be as fresh as possible. I been wanting to make my own homemade Squid Ink noodles and wanted to do the right research and secure the quality ingredients for such the occasion. Why buy it, why not make my own!Because of this place... I was able to make one of the best meals I've made with my own two hands. MY HOMEMADE: "Fresh Squid Ink Fettuccini with steamed King Crab meat in a garlic butter sauce garnished with fresh oregano leaves and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice"- Squid Ink (HERE!!!)- King Crab (Costco)- Flour (Ralphs)- Fresh Farm eggs (farmers market)- Garlic (farmers market)- Lemon (farmers market)- fresh oregano leaves (farmers market)- butter (Trader Joes)

The Market by Buon Appetito is located off the corner of India st and Cedar in Little Italy, San Diego providing locals with farm fresh items and everyday grocery shopping needs plus more!!This store offers a fine range of pastas, marinara sauces, and Italian goodies that you can pick up in your own backyard at your convenience if living in the Little Italy neighborhood. I find myself coming here weekly for everyday essentials that I need for dinner or any items that were missed on my weekly grocery store visit. They have a small produce section along with some specialty meats such as a rack of lamb chops, prosciutto and sliced cheese. They have a large selection of fine wines and olive oil and also some local craft beers. They have a nice variety of breads such as French bread and brioche buns. The store also offers a deli where you can create your own sub sandwich as well. I enjoy coming here to support local businesses but most of all the wide variety of quality items that are offered here and the convenience of the location to pick up my everyday items. Customer service is second to none and I never once had a bad expierence while shopping here. Come on out and try some authentic Italian favorites while picking out a bottle of imported Italian wine. This store won't dissapoint!

An excellent selection of barrel aged vinegars and cured meats. They are one of few grocers in the area that offer smoked cured meats and it is worth adding to your appetizer list when having company.

Part Italian grocery, part deli, and plenty to check out. I was on the hunt for some fresh pasta to use for a recipe I was going to make and good ol' Yelp led me here. They have a really nice selection of imported pasta, as well as some bags of fresh noodles in the refrigerated section at the rear of the store. I opted for their freshly made cavatelli and it was fantastic! There's also an adjoining space that has a deli and a surprising section of gluten free items, but I stuck to the imported oils, balsamics, and antipasto items for the meal I was prepping for. They even carried plant-based feta.I was hoping to pick up a nice bottle of wine to accompany the dinner items I was purchasing, but found their wine section unfortunately disorganized and poorly labeled. I asked the cashier if she could help me find a bottle of montepulciano and she had never heard of it. Hopefully management sees this and trains their staff in Italian wine pronto. Wine aside, I'd still recommend giving this shop a look because they have a lot of interesting imported items.

This market was pretty empty when I arrived around 10am.They were making salads and wraps to put in the chilled glass cabinets. I ordered a BLTA with avocado and the lady making it walks into the produce section and grabs a tomato and an avocado from the veggie bins so you know it's freshly made. Don't be in a hurry because this takes 15 minutes for her to make it. It was a bit dry for my taste but it was delicious. They had 5 different bagel flavors and I went with the jalapeño cheddar bagel. I will come back again for this sandwich but next time I will ask for Mayo or maybe some cream cheese. While I was waiting they brought out some wraps for their inventory chilled cabinets. One was a chicken Caesar and the other was called a black and blue. I asked for the black and blue and loved it. It was chopped filet mignon, tomatoes, blue cheese, onions and arugula. It was pretty heavy and so convenient to grab and go. I loved the black and blue string bold flavors but it has a tad too much arugula for me. I ate it for lunch and was super full. I will be back again for sure. I will try the Caesar wrap next. This is inside an Italian specialty market on the right hand side of the building. Lots of pastas, breads, steaks, ice creams, cookies, veggies, etc to shop for in this combined market. No parking spaces available out front as usual in Little Italy.
