The Market at Anacortes

We were in Anacortes biking in the beautiful community forest lands and we wanted a sandwich after our ride. Our usual stop had a line out the door so we went elsewhere. Another restaurant wanted $20 for a sandwich. We stopped at The Market to check out the deli, and we found exactly what we wanted. The Market has three choices for the size of a sandwich, which was great, all I wanted was the 4 inch sandwich, my friend ordered the 8 inch. My first choice was Tuna, which they were out of, so I ordered chicken. Our sandwiches were really tasty, and the price was very reasonable, under $6, all take that over the inflated prices we found elsewhere, and the half hour line just to order and sandwich that would of cost twice as much and then some. The Market will be our first stop the next time we are biking in Anacortes.

I've been to Anacortes a handful of times, and always stopped at the *other* grocery store. The big national name one. And that's been fine, but the last two times in town, I've stopped in at The Market to find a couple of esoteric items and one very simple one.Esoteric items are the specialty here. It's not quite a health food store, not really a Whole Foods, but it lands somewhere in the middle. Some mainstream brands and foods, a pretty great produce section, but lots more crunchy hippie items, or harder-to-find natural things.The esoteric--I was looking to make poké and though I sourced my fish from the island where I was staying, I needed the sesame oil and the sesame seeds. They have a nice bulk section here and I'd recommend giving that a whirl.Last trip we went to the other store and they were wiped out of ice. They said that they had been out for hours. So we thought for sure they would be out here, too, but in fact the freezer was packed full of the stuff. Rescued!It's a fun stop if you need to stock up, especially at mainland (but still off the beaten path and more expensive) prices, and are looking for that kind of naturalistic grocer.

Great Dairy options oh, other than that it's a weird store, don't know if I trust the butcher. Produce is extremely overpriced. You can get better options and better prices of organic Goods at Skagit Valley Co-op

UNBELIEVABLE!! Treating an 80 year old hard of hearing Grandma like she is a villain simply because she asked why employees weren't masked during this coronavirus epidemic. You should be ashamed of yourself. Have you read your own "fundamental values" statement? Here's an excerpt in case you forgot:"At The Markets, one of our fundamental values is the preservation of wholesome living in a HEALTHY COMMUNITY...By minimizing our impact and continuing to be RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS, we are strengthening the communities we live in and serve. Our company's foundation is built on the belief that to achieve success is to achieve a complementary balance between social, environmental and economic performance...."What about age shaming lines up with those so called fundamental values?! What about refusing to sell to an elderly woman who WAS in fact being responsible by wearing a mask AND gloves....shopping during your senior citizen hours, is ok with you?!? The assistant manager should be fired for not giving the managers name and information out when asked MULTIPLE times by said petite, 80 year old soft spoken GRANDMOTHER. You better believe I will be posting reviews and telling everyone NOT to patronize your market. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Love the deli sandwiches and my pup likes the toys. The service is great too very helpful.

Came for picnic supplies. They have a ton of prepared food in clean displays. Everything looks so good! I decided on the perfect shrimp salad. Absolutely delicious! A perfect picnic salad by the beach. The shrimp were plump and came with an already dressed romaine lettuce. Excellent service at the deli and the cashier. I didn't spend too long in this store as it could be easy to spend a lot of money here. They have a whole section of purchase items by the pound, nuts, sweets, rice, pasta and more! I stopped here to look briefly but didn't make a purchase. An excellent and fun market. Worth a visit before heading off for the day.

I really enjoy the selection and quality of this store. Unfortunately I would suggest checking the prices, I've been overcharged consistently. The cashier fixed the error and charged me for the posted price, but the products continue to be incorrectly priced even after noticing the error. The overcharges can add up after a while, and the time it takes to explain and correct the error can be frustrating.

Great selection of items at reasonable prices. The Deli was amazing. Best Tuna sub I've had since I left NJ!!! 8" Sub Combo w/a drink and chips--$8!!! My wife had the #9 Toast Beef, Ham and Turkey and enjoyed it as much as I did my tuna sub!!A must stop at value for visiting Anacortes!!

We ordered catering from here for my mom's memorial service as I'd rather support a local business than a corporation. Sandwich platters, fruit platters, cheese & meat, plus a load of desserts. Sandwiches were fresh, cut into just the right size pieces, fruit was ripe & perfect. The desserts? Awesome! Get yourself some of their Nanaimo bars RIGHT NOW!!

The Market is a great store with great local products. If you can't find something you need, good chance The Market has it. Very great deals throughout the store and great bulk, produce, liquor/wine, and meat departments to say the least. And to top it off, the staff are very friendly and helpful. They will go out of their way to help you find what you're looking for or go get it for you. I definitely can't recommend this store enough. If you want to support local businesses and find some new unique products, definitely check out The Market!
