Marine Room has been one of our favorites for years for several reasons. The ocean views are spectacular. The service is efficient, personable and welcoming. The vibe is upscale without pretentiousness. The food is delectable. On this visit, we received everything we expected. Here are the dishes we ate: Amuse Bouche - a rich fishy flavored type broth that excited your palate for the next dishLobster bisque - rich, creamy and sapid. The pieces of lobster were perfectly cooked. Peruvian Crudo - gorgeously plated with the variety of colors of each component and the textural difference each piece added to the dish. The fish was fresh and the dish was light. Seared salmon with fettuccine - as my daughter described her dish, "the fish is cooked perfectly. The outside seared and crispy while the inside is still soft and juicy. They also seasoned it really well." Snake river farms filet mignon - tender and cooked to the right temp. The mashed potatoes were pillowy and paired well with the demi. Local bluefin tuna - another beautifully plated dish with its different shapes and pops of color. Tuna was cooked well and I loved the variety of sauces. Truffle yuca fries - this was the only dish that missed it for us. Flavor was fine, but it was too hard; difficult to eat. Lemon lavender cake - this was brought out to us with a candle for our celebration. The cake was moist and flavors well balanced. Chocolate lava cake - satisfyingly decadent. For my cocktail I ordered, Thank you Sonny Chiba which is a Japanese whiskey with aperol, grapefruit, orgeat and lemon. It was light and paired well with my dinner. We paid approximately $484 (with tip) and we would absolutely come back.

My friend and I decided to dine here during our weekend in San Diego. We made a reservation a week in advance and Jonathan was an excellent server for our first time here! I showed him a picture of the surf and turf that had scallops and pork belly on a tower. He mentioned to me that was a part of their lounge menu but he will gladly talk to the server for me since it was early in the evening. Surf and turf: the scallops and pork belly were my favorite dish. Each bite had bacon on it and caviar, that went really well with the dish. The pork belly wasn't too fatty, but it melts in your mouth and was a nice crunch. Sablefish: this was a popular dish, it melts in your mouth and it came with shiseido peppers but that was given on the side since it had a mild spice. Lobster tail: I would say the lobster tail was filling but the seasoning was okay, it wasn't anything special. However, the yelllow creamy sauce, I forgot the name but it made the lobster tail more flavorful.

After reading some reviews, I was a little nervous coming here because I was worried about not having a good view ... however, there really are NO BAD SEATS HERE! The view is stunning!!!! I did request a window seat on open table and they honored it and gave us an excellent seat in fact! But if you don't get a window seat, the view is still very prevalent and you'll have a great time. I was so happy the whole time I was eating just being able to look out to the beautiful ocean.I love that our waiter said they could make almost any drink we wanted and I requested a cucumber martini which was delicious. Best and favorite dish was the poblano risotto! The Mexican Italian fusion is perfect and the risotto was creamy smooth and bouncing with flavor. Must order! The seafood dishes we ordered (trout and swordfish) were excellent and moist and filling. I loved the panna cotta with its crunchy sweet honeycomb. Would return as often as I can because of the great service view and food.

After seeing this spot all over Instagram, I knew I had to stop by when I was in San Diego. We decided to make a reservation to celebrate a birthday + new job, and the kind waiters really made it such a special experience, with a personalized menu as well as a complimentary birthday cake. Unfortunately, window side seats aren't guaranteed, but we were seated in a beautiful booth facing the ocean, where we could watch the waves and beach goers. As for the food, the raw items (toro tartare and Peruvian crudo) were incredibly fresh and well crafted, and were definitely some of my favorites of the night! I didn't enjoy the cooked dishes as much (lobster bisque was a bit briny and sea bass was overly simple), but I didn't try enough dishes to be able to make a judgement call on their menu. Cocktails were also a bit diluted, but they have an excellent and extensive wine menu as an alternative. Overall, would recommend stopping by for beautiful, immersive views of the ocean and to celebrate special occasions, as their menu is a bit on the pricier side!

This place is breathtaking. The views from the restaurant looking out at the ocean during sunset is such a vibe. You can see the waves crashing on the window. The service here was also amazing. The food was exceptional everything was so fresh and of high quality. The Wagyu steak I got was cooked to perfection. The lobster was also so fresh and cooked perfectly. Definitely recommend for a date night or special occasion. They also have a lounge/ bar area where you can get drinks and the drinks and the views were amazing.

Hear so much about this place and decided to come here to celebrate our anniversary. Stefano was our server and provided great recommendations. We split the lobster bisque and the 32oz tomahawk steak with a side of potato puree. Huge serving, very filling. They gave us a fresh focaccia which is my staple for a steak house. The lobster bisque was very thick and filling. Full of flavor and came with a cheddar biscuit. The tomahawk was huge but had a lot of fat. Beautiful view of the ocean. known for high tide dining . They had a beautiful lounge area by the bar. I do want to come back to try the wagyu. They gave us a complimentary dessert that wasn't on the menu for our anniversary. It was very delicious. Lemony cake.

Let me start off by saying that if it wasn't for the amazing service I got by the server Jennica and the busser Alan, I probably would have walked off and left. We drove here three hours to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday and arrived 45min early to our reservation time. It was a special day so I mentioned that I pre-booked the chefs table experience since it said guaranteed "optimized view" on the platform I made my reservation on. The host said "oh yes that gives you priority if a window table opens up as we don't do reserved seating for specific tables." Once our reservation time came up, we were seated at a table that was NOT by the window so I was a bit confused as to why. Immediately after we sat down a table cleared up in front of us that was by the window and so we quickly asked the waitress if we could move there. She said she would ask and so she went to grab her manager. The assistant manager who was named Chris came over and was extremely rude. He showed no empathy what so ever and was disrespectful. He said that specific table was "already reserved" and I asked him how was that possible when the host said there isn't any reserved seating for specific tables. He started to get angry with me and WALKED AWAY!!!! The people who got the table came way after us which made me even more confused since we had "priority" according to the host. We then asked if we could take another table in front of us because they were finishing up and the waitress said she was immediately shot down. She even asked us if we had put "chefs table" in our reservation notes and we stated we did and so she was also confused as to why management kept denying us tables. After this kind of treatment, it's safe to say that management attends specifically to a certain type of people and disregards those who are not regardless of how much you're looking at spending here.Besides the disrespectful treatment from Chris, we still gave the restaurant a try for the food and unfortunately were disappointed there too. For the price, the food was definitely not worth it. Not only were the portions extremely small but overall the food lacked great flavor. I've been to several Michelin star restaurants that cost way less with better quality food. I was not impressed one bit. I would say the one dish that was semi flavorful was the lobster, but that's about it. Even the desserts were very basic and felt like something you can purchase at a fast food restaurant. To top it all off all of the individuals who decided to get the chef's table experience in the restaurant were given a complimentary goodie bag, but management decided to give it to everyone and only skip us . We waited several minutes to see if they would come around, but never did and had to flag down the busser to get us one. He apologized that we had to wait and go out of our way to get the something that we should have gotten in the first place. In conclusion, don't waste your time or money coming here . Yes, the views are nice but not as nice as Instagram makes them look. There are several other restaurants in San Diego that have better quality food, nicer views, and more respectful staff.

We made a reservation for the high tide dinner. Spectacular views of the ocean crashing into the windows, as promised. Wellworth, the prefix price of 165 per person.( not including drinks.) we brought our own bottle. $45 cage fee. The menu for this summertime high tide . Was spot on. we started off with the fresh focaccia bread with a cucumber cold soup. And Hamachi. Crudo. Large pieces of delicious fish. We enjoyed the buttery filet mignon and the ocean trout from Tasmania . Plenty of food lots of leftovers . The desserts are divine. I had a dark chocolate ganache cake, and we enjoyed the strawberry crêpe dessert. And at the end of the meal, we were given these adorable dark chocolate seahorses filled with caramel. ( make sure to ask for a window table if you can) I think I had called three times. There is plenty of parking on the street if you come early, but they do offer valet parking . ( unfortunately only when they're having their high tide dinners, you cannot sit at the bar, they will charge you the same amount which is 165 per person for dinner. The view is still gorgeous.) If you were to come on, you can sit at the bar and enjoy . The service is outstanding ...
