The Mansion is convenient if you're staying at Rosario, but not sure if I would visit again if I stayed elsewhere. The prices are reasonable for a hotel restaurant. The views are extremely beautiful if you can get a table near the window. For dinners we tried a few different dishes like the seafood stew, an ahi tuna noodle dish, the cauli salad. For breakfast, the menu items are HUGE!!! We got a breakfast sandwich - and it was very loaded and had a side of potatoes. If you're a light/medium breakfast order, I'd go splitsies on one breakfast item. We also tried the beignets which were wonderful but it's a huge portion with 5 pieces especially as a breakfast's dessert.

The views and service are outstanding. We arrived on Sunday night without a reservation, and were promptly seated next to a window overlooking the water, which lended picturesque views for our dining experience. The weight staff was super friendly, very attentive, and went out of their way to make sure our food was prepared to our liking. The food itself, though was a bit disappointing. The appetizers that we got, calamari and crabcakes were pretty good, but we found the tuna noodle bowl seemed a smidge too fishy. My wedge salad was also a bit small and basic, more basic than normal. My husband also commented that his steak was a little under done, he sent it back, and when it returned, it was a little overdone. I do appreciate the attentive wait staff and gorgeous views though, and the resort looks like a GREAT place.

Chef Rudy and his crew are really putting out some great food here. It was so good that I forgot to take pictures of all of it. We had the bone-in ribeye steak and the porterhouse pork chop. The food was amazing! The service was outstanding. The ambience and view were spectacular. Chef Rudy sources local seafood and veggies. I would take the ferry to Orcas Island just to eat here again--yes, it's that good! I can't wait to get back.

After several years of choosing other dining options on Orcas, I finally stopped by The Mansion Restaurant twice this year and enjoyed both visits. Over the summer my family and I came in for dinner. We didn't have reservations and had to wait in their cozy lounge area for a table to open up. We were lucky and snagged a window seat with the amazing view! I enjoyed my Old Fashioned, and was happy to see a couple vegan options clearly labeled on the menu. I went with the entree size of the Cauliflower ($22), which includes roasted tri-colored cauliflower, roasted pine nuts, dried apricots, and raisins over a citrus and spiced tahini coconut yogurt. While tasty, the entree size was more of a starter size, so I ended up getting some fries too. Yum! The fries were hot and the perfect thickness. We waited a while for the food, although this is expected on the island. With that said, enjoy your drink and have a snack before your visit if you tend to get hangry. Our waitress this time around was friendly and helpful. Overall it was a great experience.I stopped in for a last minute dinner this fall after my dinner reservation at another restaurant was cancelled that day. Without a reservation our option for dining room seating for two people was 5:30 (a little early for me) or 8, so we took some snacks to the beach for the sunset before heading back for dinner. They did have lounge seating available but I wanted a table with a view (even though it was dark, ha). This time around I ordered a glass of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, which was not my favorite, but drinkable. My entree was delicious though, making up for the wine. Even though it's not vegan, I made a vacation exception and went for the vegetarian Coconut Curry Vegetable Pot Pie ($30). That filling is so flavorful! I wish I could have a big bowl of just the filling, to be honest. Plus, the recipe of course. It included cauliflower, mushrooms, carrots, potatoes, kale, and peppers topped with puff pastry. Mmm. My companion seemed to enjoy his Ribeye enough. The host was friendly and helpful, and our server was pleasant enough. I'd happily come back again in the future, for both the ambiance and food.

This is really the BEST place for sailors + cruisers after some island hopping around the San Juan's and Gulf Islands. The historical nautical ambiance, cuisine, excellent service, and beautiful setting. Doesn't get any better in the San Juan's. The marina is also excellent with many amenities for boaters.

25% SERVICE FEE. $20 DELIVERY FEE FROM THE KITCHEN TO OUR RESTAURANT TABLE. We ate at the little restaurant near the boats. Food was mediocre at best. We had a large party and tried most items on the menu between all of us. They weren't busy and the service was fine; they just seemed inexperienced. The views were good. The kicker was when we got the bill. Despite sitting at four different tables, we were considered a large party. Okay, whatever, but they forced a 25% service fee. Since when is a forced 25% acceptable? And we were charged $20 for a "delivery fee". Delivered where? The kitchen to our table? Shouldn't that be included the service fee? I've worked in the service industry and those forced charges are outrageous. A tip is might to be for the customer to show their application to the server for a job well done, not an excuse to not pay your staff. Very disappointing.Edit: I forgot to mention they refused to split our bill to our respected tables that we were at. And when we asked about the 25% and the delivery fee they just said, "that's our policy if you have a problem with it leave a review", so that's why I am leaving a review.

Great lamb chops! Excellent halibut. The oysters are to die for! The curry seafood chowder was overwhelming, the spices overpowered the clams and mussels. Good service, great view!

Hmm. Is there a 0 star?We had high expectations atleast on the service and food quality given its such an expensive restaurant. We waited for 10 mins before someone greeted us to be seated. We got a seat at the corner, not the best view but okay. Definitely far away from rest of the guests which I'm not gonna make an issue of atleast during pandemic. So be it.There were dead bugs behind our seat so taking out one star for that.We ordered:Fish and chips - fries were still edible but the portion and quality was miserable Grilled chicken burger - absolutely no taste. No salt or pepper, even couldn't taste the mayo.. Rock fish burger - soggy and water was coming out. Felt stale.Mac and cheese - u can make it better at home even without trying anything, $15 eachSo all in all we spent about $80 for 4 adults and 2 kids 6 and below. We didn't even ask the cheque or showed any inclination that we are looking to get up when the server brought us the cheque. Yes he said no rush but we saw him roaming around specifically repeatedly around our table!! We were still eating, you want us to go?????One star taken away for this service Next when we paid, he came back and was peeping in what tip we were adding which felt awkward. Immediately he said the card did not charge, even the bill is not right. I will bring in a new one. Next he came back and said we forgot to charge the gratuity so that has been added. I was pissed by this time but controlled myself. If you forgot have the decency to not charge or tell us that before charging. You messed up and charged us for messing up!!!!!!!Anyways my family told him that the food want good, and he blatantly said nothing. Na be done , you ate the food. O I'm sorry, we are being punished for eating your horrible awful tasting food. I'm sorry we ate your tasteless food without complaining. Didn't know we have to point it out, we thought anyways we have to pay and don't waste food so let's eat whatever is there.Instead of being apologetic you are showing attitude?!!!!!For what are you charging the gratuity? For your attitude!!!AVOID THIS PLACEHorrible treatment of guests, I can't say if it's because we are not white because there wasn't any diversity in guests that either I guess we should have checked other reviews before sitting down. You just proved not all that glitters is gold. Also forgot to mention that while going to the restroom we saw staff eating fries right from the bowl of fries with their bare hand!!!!!!!!

Gorgeous views from the windows of the Rosario Mansion Restaurant, but nothing to write home about in terms of service. We stayed at the Rosario for a milestone wedding anniversary and made a reservation at the Mansion Restaurant for our anniversary dinner. Staff made no mention of our celebration, and were at a bare minimum with interactions throughout our meal despite there being almost no other tables filled during the time we were dining. Never once asked if we enjoyed any of the 3 courses we ordered. We absolutely loved our stay on the island and will be back, but will not be dining at the Mansion Restaurant in the future. When spending $200+ on dinner, guests should be treated with service that equates to the cost. The menu had a great variety. We opted to start with the Smoked Halibut Dip - wonderful comfort dip with great balance of fish, cheese, and herbs. Shared the Grilled Pear & Burrata Salad - oddly this salad had no grilled pears. We could not figure that piece out, but otherwise was a delicious salad. Both of us ordered the Brodetto di Pesce as our entree - if you don't love spice, do not order this pasta! Nowhere does the menu mention hot peppers/chili being used in the tomato & garlic sauce, but our mouths were on fire. A great variety of seafood in the pasta, but felt more like a soup than a seafood pasta.Overall, gorgeous presentation of food, but not worth the hype for the price and service.

My review is for the restaurant only. The spa is a solid five stars.I'm glad we ate here--the setting, the history, the ambiance are all stunning. The massive wooden furniture is impressive and surprisingly comfortable. This place has been loving restored and cared for. It was an absolute pleasure to be here and to sit on the veranda. The food was very average, although the Mansion Burger sounded amazing--maybe we just ordered wrong. The scallop/ halibut cake stole the show. I should have ordered two of those, along with the extraordinary Cole slaw ( best ever Coke slaw, imho). Sadly, we didn't stop at the scallibut cake, and the rest was disappointing; wedge salad, drowning in a watery blue cheese dressing, and overcooked lobster ravioli, served with four beautifully prepared scallops.I would return, but I'd order differently--just appetizers and skipping everything else. Drinks and scallibut cakes would make for a 4-5 star meal. The service, by the way, was just okay. She hadn't tried much of the menu, so she wasn't able to describe the dishes very well. She was great about checking on us and warning that the kitchen was slow (it was slow, but we loved taking our time and watching the sun set over the bay).Nothing was awful--what we ordered averaged out to be just ok.
