The Luminary Cafe & Bar

We walked past this cute and bright cafe spot not knowing it was open to the public. Decor is very nice!! It was located in a big building and on the corner of the stop light, facing the beautiful Chicago river. There were a handful of seats and tables to sit down and sip on your drink. I ordered an iced matcha latte with caramel sweetener. However, I felt like it could have used more sweetness because I like my drink on the sweeter side. They don't have Ghirardelli caramel :( Staff were nice and patient. Drink options are very limited though. It's a great place to people watch and take in the beautiful skylines of Chicago. Overall, I think it was just an ok spot for a quick coffee/latte on-the-go.

Nice building ground floor cafe, good break time spot with plenty of seating area with modern and contemporary designs.

Quick. Delicious. Nice seating area. Came in several times during a busy conference when most of the hotel coffee shops were swamped. I'm so glad I found this place. The coffee was delicious and prepared with care. The ambiance was great with nice seating options at the bar or at tables. Prices were reasonable.

This may be one of my new favorite coffee shop options in the area! It is a small unassuming coffee bar located in the lobby of a building along the Chicago Riverwalk. The bar is simple and beautiful with incredible outdoor lighting and a great view of the city. The bartender/barista that took our order was so kind and helped me with deciding on a drink to try (and it was great!). On a summer day, this would be a great place to pick up an iced latte and sit along the Chicago River. On a colder day, there are quite a few seats available to look out and admire the great view. I will definitely be coming back.

I can't say enough good things about The Luminary Cafe & Bar!Located in an office building in the Lakeshore East neighborhood, it feels like a sweet hidden gem. Once you become aware, you can't visit enough. It feels charming and innocent. A bright moment in the lobby of a high-rise skyscraper.The man that assisted me today was fantastic. I asked if he owned the business because he went over and beyond and was so helpful. He gave me the low-down on catering and happy hour. He offered menus and punch cards to give to the residents in my building. He was very friendly, helpful and proactive.Today I ordered a vanilla lavender oat milk latte. I loved it!!I keep saying I'm going to stop in for happy hour. I haven't yet but I will. They offer $5 wine, $2.00 off beer, $10 cocktails and half price flatbreads. Sounds like a great value!!

I had been looking for a good hot chocolate and found it here on our last full day. I walked right up to the counter and had it in my hand within a couple of minutes. It was delicious too! I would definitely go back if in the area again!

Angela is the best bartender in Chicago! How is that for a lead-in sentence!? I work upstairs and frequent Lumuniary, I'd say, maybe every day or every other day. I always start with eggs and tea, either black Limon, mint lavender or ginger turmeric. Then after work, that's when the party starts!Back to Angela - she's your good ol fashioned fun, caring and jubilant bartender that has excellent customer service.Highly recommend stopping by if you're every I'm search of a great atmosphere and drinks. An obscure little coffee bar in the lobby of an office building is not where I would have guessed I'd get a delightful latte, but surprise surprise! Service was perfect, the coffee was top notch and we ended up going there multiple times while staying at the Fairmont across the street.

This place is great. The bartender Angela is super friendly and great at her job. If you are looking to have a drink and relax then Luminary is the place to go!
