This venue is owned by the same people who have canceled my wedding at the Landing at Shilshole Bay so I wanted to make sure people booking here are aware of how Peter and Crystal do business. I was scheduled to have my wedding here on August 3rd. After booking in December and being told that construction would be completed in March my family and I checked in often to make sure everything was on track. The venue was not completed in March and we were given excuses every week since then about why things were not happening. My fiancé ended up going to see the construction progress on a date not scheduled with Peter and Crystal which is when he found the stop work order posted on their front door. Every time we had visited they covered this with a poster advertising the venue. We confronted them about this at our next meeting where they denied any problems and assured us that the venue would be completed. After looking into it more ourselves we found out that they do not have permits for the construction and have multiple people trying to get money back from them. At our next meeting we confronted Peter with this information where he finally said that our event would not be able to happen. The stop work order had been in affect since January. He chose not to inform anyone of this and keep taking people's money. We asked for our money back and he said if he wrote us a check it would bounce. They do not have any money and are scamming people. He promised to pay my dad back on Monday and it has not happened. He has stopped responding to us.Do not use this venue or their other venue called The Landing at Tyee. The construction has been done with out permits and the owners are lying to couples about what is going on with construction.I have attached a picture of the stop work order.

This place is owned by a couple Peter Olsen and Crystal Besaw who scammed a bunch of people, canceled wedding on the day of (read reviews for the Landing at Shilshole Bay). My fiancé and I went to tour the Landing at Shilshole Bay back in April 2019, while looking for a venue for our wedding for Sep, 2020. (NEXT year) Peter told us that we should book the place ASAP because there is only 1 weekend that's open for Sep 2020, all other weekends are already booked. The place was bare, construction was underway, wires were still sticking out of the walls. We were scratching our heads because it was SO hard for us to believe that a construction site is being booked that many months ahead. It all makes sense now, he lied to me because he wanted our deposits! What a scam. BEWARE. Don't let them shut down the venue and text you on the day of to cancel wedding. This is so messed up.

We had our 120-person reception here in May and it was one of the best decisions we made in our wedding!Peter gave us a tour and was so friendly, laid back and not pushy. The venue has absolutely everything you could ask for - beautiful natural lighting, built-in decorations, a full kitchen and bar counter, and a bridal suite not to mention a lovely deck to use during cocktail hour and free parking (SO rare in Seattle). They allow you to bring in your own caterer which was important to us since we wanted to use a nonprofit caterer (Farestart)We had toured a lot of other venues and just didn't get a good vibe from the folks we met. At the Landing at Tyee, we worked with Allegra, the venue manager and she was so sharp, warm, and totally on top of everything. All our emails were quickly answered, she paced all the information she gave us so it wasn't overwhelming, and was very accommodating when we had to bring in vendors later on to tour the venue. She even helped us do a late-night snack run to Dick's for burgers for our wedding! Can't recommend this venue highly enough if you're looking for a memorable wedding with great staff.

I've been throwing New Year's parties for four years now and needed to find a location for 2015. I reached out to The Landing at Northcut but unfortunately, they were booked that night. My contact over at the Landing at Northcut, Peter Olson, asked if I was interested in throwing the party at The Landing at Tyee on Lake Union (Formerly the Tyee Yacht Club). I agreed to take a look at the place before committing. When I got there, I was blown away from the venue. The first thing you notice when you get to the main floor is the outdoor patio. They have an amazing view of the lake and plenty of room for people to mingle. Inside the venue is a fairly large space. When we were there, tables were set up for a large dinner party and it looked very elegant. After viewing the place for a few minutes, I told Peter I was interested and began working with him for about a month on this event. I will tell you one thing, Peter Olson is the best person to work with when throwing a special event. This guy will respond to his emails within five minutes and is always very helpful. His recommendations for personnel, specifically bartenders and security guards, were impeccable. We had the best bartenders and security guards and will definitely be doing business with Peter and his crew very soon.Peter doesn't know this yet, but I was sold on the venue the moment I walked in. The venue is very nice and I've seen pictures of weddings that were thrown in the past (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K382KeY7RDg). If the Landing at Northcut is not available, please consider The Landing at Tyee on Lake Union. This venue is definitely an excellent choice for any special venue.

Please be advised- this property is 1 of 2 managed by the same company, and the overall business has completely shut down as of a week ago. The other venue is the Landing at Shilshole Bay. If you paid a deposit for an event Aug 2019 and beyond, you will find that your calls are unanswered, the voicemail box is full, and emails bounce back as undeliverable. Please seek immediate recourse with your credit card company for fraud, and start looking for a new venue immediately. It is only through another yelpers post below that I realized something was wrong. My wedding is in 12 days and I've had to immediately find a new venue.

When you look for a wedding venue, you want to make sure you team up with people who will guide you through the process. Peter and Crystal went above and beyond to make sure our wedding day was perfect. They were very responsive through email (no matter how small of a question you may have had) and they gave us many of recommendations for other vendors when we asked. We had about 130 people and it was the perfect size! Honestly, one of the most common compliment we received at our wedding was "your venue is amazing!" Absolutely recommend! The venue is beautiful, the pictures on the dock ended up perfect, and the customer service from Peter and Crystal was priceless!

Wow!!!Peter and Crystal, thank you so much for helping us bring our big day to life. We received so many compliments on our wedding venue and I feel like its necessary to pass these along to both of you. Peter was wonderful to work with planning and setting up the logistic of the day. He also recommended our mixlogist Tim, and our linen rental vendor, Marven who we also cannot recommend more.Crystal was a calming presence on the day of and was instrumental in getting our layout, theme and decor exactly how we wanted it. We cannot endorse them more and look forward to our next event with them!

We got married at the Landing at Tyee a year ago. I didn't feel comfortable leaving a review at the time because the owner did some shady things at another venue. I see they are under new ownership but have our same event manager so now I feel comfortable raving! Allegra was incredible to work with! She allowed me to check out the space so many times leading up to the wedding. She was so fun to be around and made the wedding planning process less stressful! Allegra really helped make our wedding run smoothly! We had the most amazing day in such a beautiful space. I do not think the pictures capture the beauty of the Landing at Tyee! The sparkles off the water are something special! If you are looking for an outdoor space to pair with the Landing at Tyee, I highly suggest using Fairview Park through Seattle Parks and Recreation. It was close and paired nicely for our ceremony space. Allegra made us feel confident that if it rained on our wedding day that the Landing at Tyee could easily adjust the plan. That made this Seattle bride rest much easier.

If you are planning an event in Seattle, this is a wonderful venue. It overlooks the water and is very close to the space needle.A family member was married here. $2500 gets you a beautiful space overlooking the water. We had use of the venue from 10am - 12 midnight. There was a bar area that had various sized glasses for 150 people. We brought our own beverages. We had use of the kitchen and did all the food ourselves. The bridesmaids decorated the chairs and gazebo that was made for the wedding. Two employees helped facilitate setting up plates and bussing tables. There is a dressing room for the bride (and wedding party) that has comfy couches, a dorm sized fridge and a counter space for hair & makeup people (if you bring them). There is a places to hang clothes. I saw hangers by the coat rack but I would bring hangers for gowns and dresses. The door by the kitchen can be locked. If you want privacy for this room, it is s good idea to have someone posted by the door. The facility has members that aren't restricted during your event. We saw a few people making their way to the dock that were not on our guest list. It would have been nice if they could have discreetly entered and avoided our dining area.We had 150 guests and a bridal party of twelve. There were only two stalls in each bathroom. If you want photo opps by the water, the bride and groom can take pictures on the dock. There is also a lovely place by the water that is a short walk from the building. The venue has various vases and containers that you can borrow to put on tables. The sound system is simple. There was a microphone. We brought our own music. There is a baby grand piano inside. Bonus points for the pretty views at sunset.

I was one of the parties negatively impacted by the failed renovation project at The Landing at Shilshole Bay, owned by Peter Olson, who also operates The Landing at Tyee and who once operated the now-closed The Landing at Northcut. Before you decide to do business with Peter Olson, please be aware of the following history. We would have realized the risk we were taking had we looked closer.Incidents across the three "The Landing" businesses over the last 5 years include multiple small claims court cases, refund-related complaints, delayed or failed renovations, a same-day cancellation on at least one wedding in part due to a "Stop Work" notice, and a WA state citation for a Wage Payment Act violation (i.e. not paying employee wages).2014 Aug - Sarah R posts a review for The Landing at Northcut stating in part "And then I got very sick and started Chemotherapy......When we realized we had to cancel the wedding, Peter promised me 7 (that's SEVEN) times, that we could have our deposit back. We were not only not getting married, but we were drowning in medical bills. Seven times he promised, and 7 times I followed up when no refund was given, and then he just stopped answering my emails altogether. Mind you, I understand a business is a business, but I'd like to think that there are still people in this world that feel for you when horrible things happen. Alas, for many of us the experience was quite different. If you ever sign a contract with Peter, please watch out for potential one-sidedness. Review it with a lawyer in advance and carefully think through the answer to the question: "What if this all goes to hell?"
