The Lafayette Hotel - 5 StarsLove, love, love, love, love! This hotel! The Lafayette Hotel is honestly the coolest place I've ever been to, and I've been to a lot. It's one of those places that truly has it all. The fact that they have an amazing Oaxacan restaurant, a bowling alley, and Jazz Club all within the hotel is just mind-blowing! No one else in Southern California, or maybe even the entire West Coast, has managed to create something this unique and comprehensive. Maybe you'd find something similar in Miami or New York, but honestly, Lafayette has set the bar incredibly high for me. If you're looking to visit a top-tier destination, this is the place to be.

The decor in here is UNREAL. Every corner has thoughtful details. It's a spectacle to look at! My favorite drink is the pimms cup. All the staff are wearing outfits that match the theme and I really love that touch! It's so big, different bars to hit, you can even go into the Quixote (Oaxacan restaurant) for different drinks! This place is refined, luxury + such a VIBE.Lines have gotten a bit busy which is a bummer but promise you the wait is worth it!

While visiting San Diego for a festival, I was referred to this spot by two different friends. They mentioned the live music that takes place in the Lou Lou Room within the hotel and I was in. This space is a vibe. Everything has been thoughtfully curated and it is stunning. I had a chance to eat before the live music performance. I enjoyed the patty melt and onion rings. Wow, they were so good. Seasoned well and delicious. The Sure Fire Soul Ensemble performed in the Lou Lou Room and they were phenomenal. As soon as they started, most of us rushed to the dance floor to dance and didn't leave until the end. We sang, we laughed, and we danced. It was amazing! I found myself wanting to hang out after the band's set so I proceeded back to the bar in the hotel. I lucked up and got seats at the bar because it was packed. That's when I met the mixologist Joe at the bar. Even in the midst of busyness at the bar, I was impressed with how personable, efficient, and grounded Joe seemed. He checked in regularly and made an excellent espresso margarita with Repasado tequila. By far one of the best I've had!! This place was a dope experience! So vibrant, the music was on point, and the ambiance is breathtaking. I'm glad I gave myself the gift of checking this spot out. You should add it to your list of places to go soon.

Wow! Wow! Excellent stay! First timers and we will be back! It was my 34th wedding anniversary and we played! Indulged in drinks and dinner with friends. Our room and pool view were amazing! The charm and comfort of our room was exceptional! Excellent excellent service and experience!!!! I was so amazed with the history of the hotel. Just a gem right here in San Diego. From the moment you are greeted at valet you realize this is going to be an experience you will remember forever.

I love the aesthetic they're going for here. Great place to take some awesome pictures. It has multiple bars throughout the hotel and 1 onsite restaurant (which I don't recommend). They will check IDs at the door of the hotel and at each bar every time you order a drink. During weekends be prepared to wait a bit for drinks as this place does get busy. The id check adds to the wait as well. Overall good place to enjoy a drink and the vibe.

The Patty Melt is a true work of art. Attention to detail from the fries to the buttered toasted bread. Fun ambience with great decor and a very social environment . Service on point, professional service for sure. It's my new favorite place.

Love the new decor and cocktails. We stayed here years ago - - it's a shame they re-located the piano bar/ restaurant that was in the corner. I don't remember the name. Bar looks great though and our waitress was lovely. Ordered some tiki drinks and they met my expectations. I'll be back!

I love taking photos of my friends. My friend Vanessa suggested this place. I didn't have any expectations. I loved the decor so much. Everything about this place scream at a movie set. I felt like I was in a movie. The hotel itself was beyond gorgeous. There was a bar inside and outside by the poolside. We did a photoshoot by the poolside. I'll post picture results on here as well. We loved the atmosphere. Everyone seemed so happy to be there. The bar is super busy so don't expect fast service. It was very "what do you want to order and do you need anything else" kind of service. I am not mad about it. It's very busy touristy vibe. Also the food took a while to come so I deduct a star for that. I only order onion rings and it took so long. But the drinks were made at decent time, but there was always a line at the bar. Anyways, I'd suggest to come go take pictures with friends!

I loved the decor in the Lafayette hotel. They have the lobby bar plus a bar by the pool and the Gutter which is a bowling alley/bar plus a Mexican restaurant and a diner. I felt like you could go bar hopping without even leaving the hotel. I arrived at 630 pm on a Friday and could easily get a seat and table but by 730 it was packed in the lobby bar and by 8 it got packed in the Gutter so I suggest coming from 5-8 if you don't potentially want to wait for a seat. Also you have to go up to the bars to order drinks. They don't have servers. Also it took my friends 20 minutes to find parking since the Valet was full so I would highly suggest Ubering
