Pel-Meni vegan potato dumplings. The siracha is way hotter than regular siracha. If your sensitive to spice, order plain.

We stopped here while waiting for aConcert at the arena. Service was fantastic. It was super busy. I enjoyed a glass of wine and my guy a beer. Not too pricey and good quality. Met some locals that frequent the bar and love it. Old bar feel. Good prefunk place.

Went in after a game and there was only one bar tender. The bathroom was out of tp and paper towels. The place was packed. The owner is an idiot for not having more people on staff. Some businesses owners.

It's okay. I came in midday so not too many people there but a few. The bar isn't particularly big and I wouldn't quite call it divey, a little western feeling, haunted maybe, but very plain. Their beer selection was okay and since we were just popping in for a quick drink anyway it was good enough for us!We ordered some dumplings and they are coated in curry powder, sriracha, cilantro and sour cream. They're actually pretty good but the the curry powder was heavily shaken on top. I really liked the flavor but would lighten the sprinkle a little.

Great place! Nice beer selection and very friendly staff. I love the atmosphere and the ambiance of this place. Didn't try the dumplings just had a couple tasty beers and my girlfriend had a delicious cider. Very cool inside on a hot day. Can't wait to come back.

Came here the other day after some work thing. Honestly just an average typical beer hall. Definitely no wow factor, mayyybe a little divey but kinda just average so that's why I'm giving it three stars. Not a bad place but also not 5 star caliber.

This place has been a favorite of mine since it's opening. I always appreciate that they have a nice tap list with a variety of interesting choices that are not too overly expensive, lots of local stuff can be found here too. The printed tap list always seems to be updated when I come in, which I greatly appreciate. I also really like the "Get Happy, Stay Happy" Hour where you can continue to save money on your drinks for the whole evening if you show up in the first 2 hours they are open (they open at 3 or 4 each day). It's never too crowded or too loud. They allow dogs, but not children. You're welcome to bring your own food, but I am a huge fan of the Russian Dumplings they serve here. They have Potato and Onion (easily made vegan with no sour cream) or Beef. Plus it's quite a large serving, only 8$ and something that you don't find too many places. I look forward to trying this for take out sometime in the future.

This place is honestly a pretty plain looking inside. Don't expect it to be some cool vibe place. But it's got everything you need. Great friendly service, board games, shuffleboard, good drink selection, and Pel-Meni dumplings! They have a meat version and a potato version. You can get the potato one vegan! You just tell them you want it vegan and they will leave off the dairy. Fair warning though, the siracha and curry powder are HOT. You will definitely be sweating eating these. They are delicious, just you will be sweating! You can order them plain too so you can enjoy a more relaxing dumpling experience. I'll definitely keep coming back for the dumplings!

An enjoyable little dive bar. Stoped in today as I'm heading towards something else further north. Thought I'd visit Tommy's Guitar shop while en route to actually see my old pal Tommy perform with one of his better bands at the Stanwood fair this fine Seafair weekend. But the shop was closed as its apparently too late. Instead I stopped in to a neighboring bar to have a beer and a break from driving. The little hole in the wall is rather inviting. Music I'd personally never listen to but it's cool nonetheless. A tidy handful of patrons are sitting about with laptops and books whiling away the afternoon. The bartender was attentive and very polite. I like this place.

Anyone who knows me knows I use Yelp religiously. Some might say obsessively. Some might even say I have a problem. But it's times like last night, when visiting an unfamiliar city, that Yelp really comes in handy. We were attending the Duran Duran concert at XFinity Arena and I did my usual search for "beer" nearby. At the top of the list was a spot only a couple blocks away, called The Independent. When we arrived it was busy with a pre-concert crowd of mostly 40-somethings. We managed to get lucky and snagged a table after only a short wait; by the time we left it was definitely standing room only. There's no table service, you order at the bar. And there's no food served here - but they do have menus in the back and your food will be delivered. The people at the table next to us were eating some insanely good-smelling Thai food. I mean, like, I kept trying to distract them so I could steal a noodle but I think they were on to me.The beer list isn't long, but there's definitely something for everyone. They even have a few sours on the menu, and several ciders. If what's on tap doesn't appeal to you, their nice selection of well-chilled bottles likely will. They also had great 80's music playing, which got everyone in the mood for the concert. My only gripe is the beer menus were hard to find - would be nice to have a chalkboard or a digital menu (though I know those are hard to keep current, especially when it's busy). I do hope to go back another time - and this time I'm getting there early enough to order that Thai food!

My wife and I stopped into Independent Beer Bar for a quick beer before pressing on.Free timed street parking can be found. Discover is an accepted form of payment.Independent Beer Bar is 21+ and dog friendly.During our visit, the kitchen was out of order; however, outside food is welcome.Beer/tap bars are quite trendy nowadays. Independent Beer Bar was established before the big trend so don't expect anything too fancy. Indoors is actually on the decrepit side.My wife had a Voodoo Citrus Pale Ale for $7. I had a Fat Orange Cat Baby Kittens Hazy IPA for $7. Pricing is fair compared to surrounding area. Our server was friendly and enthusiastic. I look forward to returning in the future with hopes to pair Russian dumplings with my beer.
