Restaurant wasn't crowded when I arrived and I was seated quickly. Server was nice but it did take a while for me to get the check at the end of dinner. Salmon corn chowder - this was okay. I've had better for this area. There was a good amount of salmon in there. The Hook Platter - sampler of 2 fried oysters, 2 fried shrimp, and one piece each of fried halibut, cod, salmon. The oysters were the best (should have just ordered that by itself). Then the jumbo prawns and cod were good. The halibut and salmon were too dry. I don't think they are good deep fried (especially fry salmon). I ordered their fruity punch. Too tangy and not enough bubbles.

Stopped by on a whim after a recommendation. Loved everything about this place and plan to return since it is close to home-Steamed mussels in white broth served with bread very fresh.Seafood was much different than imagined, but very delicious!Looking forward to trying more items on the menu-Although baseball was on the screens, not a noisy atmosphere.Service was excellent! Several employees other than our server cleared plates and checked on us, little details that make the difference between average and good service-

Left early to an appointment in the area. However, due to unexpected circumstances, was late to my appointment at another business. Rescheduled and am now ready for some food, as I have had nothing this morning. My hangover remedy of choice is soup. They offered clam chowder and chicken noodle. I opted for the chicken noodle, as clam chowder can be too rich and filling as the first thing you eat in the morning. This chicken soup was a hit. It had great chicken broth. Full of vegetables and tender chicken. As a soup connoisseur, this was one of my favorites. Snapped me right back into life. Too many places offer subpar soup, just a collection of leftovers. For me, this was in the top five of over 100 soups I have tried. Next, was the lunch shrimp salad. Generous amount of shrimp and a great seemly homemade thosand island sauce. Nice salad, meh weak and undercooked garlic bread that came with it. While waiting for my food, observed several large tables. There were two large groups of tables here, both celebrating a life milestone. Admirable that they chose this restaurant to celebrate. And they were pleased with the food and service. Eight picky people that you please is a cudos to this restaurant. Looks like many homemade fish dishes I would love to return and try.

Service was spectacular- fast, friendly, attentive. The restaurant itself had a laidback chill vibe. The food, it was good but definitely lacked seasoning. I ordered the garlic prawn linguini and I couldn't taste any garlic. Everything my table ordered was lacking salt. Honestly it was the difference that would've taken the food from edible to outstanding. Adding salt at the table just isn't the same as it coming seasoned.

Hidden in the Perrinville area on a windy backroad's crossroads (Olympic View Drive) between Lynnwood and Edmonds is The Hook. This word of mouth neighborhood burger and seafood pasta place with an unmistaken bar is quietly in the business of surprisingly serving the best tavern food I've had in a long time. The food was extremely good. Tonight, I made the right choices. Perfect potions. Justifiable pricing. The presentation isn't going to win awards. But when was the last time the presentation filled your belly? I had the "must order" French Onion Soup and Prawn Gyro. What made the FOS so great was the cheese. The thick layer served as a lid that kept the soup warm. The Shrimp Gyro is memorable because of its gigantic Jumbo shrimp. The service was great. Chelsea, our waitress, was active, attentive, and assertive in advocating for the patrons.

I really enjoy this place for happy hour (3-5) and watching sports. Unfortunately their happy hour ends at 5. Wish it went until 5:30/6. They do have a reverse happy hour that begins at 9pm and ends at 10pm. I also enjoy their gyros!

I finally made it to The Hook after meaning to go for a long time. I can definitely say I will be back! I had the Crab Melt lunch special with chowder, which admittedly is not the most aesthetically pleasing dish. But what counts is taste & it was great! Their chowder is nice and I'm hoping to drop in when the Manhattan Stew is on the menu. Excellent service & nice clean space. Go there!

I've been meaning to drop a review on The Hook for a while, but after reading the recent review in "My Edmonds News", what better time than now?We come into The Hook on a regular basis, served by Deb and Helen. Both of these ladies are 5 star servers, and go out of their way to make sure their customers are taken care of. Their commitment to customer service and pride of their workplace is evident in the way they interact with all of their customers, from the easy to the challenging. The food...no notes. Favorite dishes include the carbonara (ask for blackened prawns for an extra kick), the fish and chips (best around, and we get around), the crab dip and the super-fresh salads with the addictive house-made basil dressing are top notch. We've had nothing on the menu that we've been disappointed with, and love the rotating specials. Worth a "special" mention is the pulled pork sandwich that we got lucky enough to snag off the fresh sheet, and the battered fries, which are hard to find. The Hook is a locally owned, small business with pride of ownership evidenced in the quality of food, service of the staff and impeccable interior. If you like excellent service, a fantastic menu and to support a local business, give them a try.
