I really wish I could add half stars, as I would rate my experience a 3.5. I went on a Saturday around 5 pm. It was still considered brunch up until 6pm. They have a private parking lot in the rear of the restaurant. There was a $10 parking fee so I would have assumed the lot was being overseen by the attendants who were out there, however that was not the case. I'm assuming they only charged because it was brunch time as by the time we got back to the car to leave. The parking attendants were gone and it was now free to park. There is an entrance off the main road, as well as an entrance in the back. For the rear entrance you have to walk up a couple sets of stairs from the parking lot. Outside the rear entrance there's a grass wall. The restaurant is honestly inline with most grass wall restaurants. It's good to sit back and vibe. They offer hookah of course, but if you choose to partake you're sat in a separate room. The playlist was on point, with quite a few Beyonce songs played. Not sure if that's why it's called the hive. However the music was really loud, we could barely hear each other during dinner. We were seated immediately. Our server was very nice however it seems staff would communicate what items are sold out prior to ordering. We placed our order, and afterwards she came back 3 times to advised items were sold out or unavailable. The food and drinks were definitely overpriced but everything was honestly very flavorful and delicious. The waters and non alcoholic beverages came out in clear plastic cups. When asking for the dipping sauces that were supposed to come with the egg rolls they brought them out in black wicker type basket along with extra napkins. It was definitely throwing off the setting with the picnic-esque items.

Came in for a Sunday brunch w: my friend. The food is good, but the flow of service and atmosphere could use a lot of work! I'll start w: food because that's the most important. Drinks: Spiked mimosa w/ tequila was pretty good. I had never heard of such a thing and I enjoyed it! Regular mimosa wasn't very strong though. When I asked for water, she said they only had bottles of water at $3 or $5. However, looking at all of the other tables I saw them with cups of water with straws. This confused me. Food: Catfish & Grits + Honey Biscuits. Both were delicious and came out hot! Both the fish and grits were seasoned perfectly in the sauce, however I do think they gave me whiting instead of catfish. The biscuits had a crispy crust but were soft on the inside. The honey was great on them. My friend had the red velvet waffle and chicken with a side of bacon and she said she enjoyed. Portions were good. No complaints on the food. Parking: $10 parking behind the building. They take cash and Cashapp. This may be valet, but it was raining that day and I was responsible for parking my car myself. Reservations: They take your reservation down via you texting them where they respond with a confirmation. This was not my favorite method of reservations as if you had to make any changes, you had to rely on them texting you back. Additionally, I don't even think they track the reservations because they don't cross your name off or anything upon your arrival. They just ask if you have a reservation and take your name for it. I'd recommend they use a platform like OpenTable to mitigate this. When I walked in (the back), there was a sign that said 'please wait to be seated' and numerous staff walked by without so much of a greeting. It was very awkward and confusing for those of us waiting to be helped since it looks like you're coming through the back of the restaurant with no hostess stand and you don't know whether to walk through the front or what. Once someone finally came, they asked if we planned to do hookah. If you want to do hookah, they sit you in a separate area from the rest of the patrons. I noticed the non-hookah area was nicer than the area where you could do hookah, but the other side had no music just the remnants of the music from the hookah section so that made it a bit more lit.Service: She did the best she could! It seems as though they might've been swamped so it was a little hard to catch her attention as she was zooming by. There were just a few nuances like our food coming and us not having silverware and having to track down our waitress before our food got cold. On the bright side, food came pretty fast after ordering! In face, we got our food before our hookah even came. Hookah: Only $40. Wouldn't recommend, came mid-way through our meal and didn't stay lit for long. They don't come and refresh your coals.

This is a nice environment to come hang with friends and family. I can't complain about the food or the service. The service was Johnny on Da Spot with everything. The menu was explained very well. The music was good r&b vibe. I will most definitely be back.

Great vibe! Free parking behind the restaurant. Space is limited. Typical hookah and grass wall concept, but the food and drinks were solid! Loved the red velvet waffle and chicken wings!! Delicious!! Music was a vibe and the upbeat staff as well. I will also add that the food and drinks are reasonably priced. So if you are looking for a cute, cool and cozy brunch spot; check them out.

Would give this 3.5 stars if possible. We went during dinner. We were greeted and quickly seated. We had to take the hookah section but it wasn't bad since the front of the restaurant is open. The ambiance is cool. Music is definitely ATL! The food: I had the salmon egg rolls and lamb chops. The egg rolls were cold but had a good taste. The asparagus and mashed potatoes were cold. The lamb chops were lukewarm. The food had a good taste, I just wish it were served at the right temperature. Everyone else had no complaints on the temperature of their food and they enjoyed the taste. Our server, Bri was very pleasant and attentive.

Yes, it's true. The wait time and customer service are HORRENDOUS! We made a reservation for 12pm, and it seems as if 30 other parties did also. When we arrived, the manager had a printed list of reservations and was supposed to seat us as space became available. Well, after a few minutes, she disappeared. Time passed and another manager with a completely different list appeared. If you checked in with the first manager, you'd have to be added to the new list and start waiting all over again DESPITE HAVING A RESERVATION! This was chaotic, stressful, and honestly frustrating! We ended up waiting TWO HOURS to be seated....and again, we had a reservation! SmhFood/drinks: as much as I hate to admit it, the food was very, very good. It made the wait a little less maddening, but only a little. The red velvet waffle is cute and delicious. I also had shrimp and grits. It was great also! My friends seemed to enjoy their meals too. I had a mimosa and it wasn't the best. Overall.......I would only return if it were a weekday right after opening. They need some serious business management adjustments. The chaos was completely preventable.

I'm a bit late writing this review as a friend & I visited The Hive on Wed, May 1st around 630p. Parking is located behind the restaurant at no charge. You enter the dining area from the back which was a bit odd because it was hard to understand where to go to be seated. The decor was pretty blah nothing to brag about. The crowd was light so we were seated not long after arriving. The service was decent as the waitress did her job. She wasn't overly friendly but she wasn't rude so I'll take it. We started with cocktails which were decent. Our appetizer, FRIED CALAMARI, came out with the food...so as good as it was it was a bit of a bummer. The food was delicious!! I opted for an A La Carte meal...Hive wings, CREOLE RICE and side salad. Everything was fresh, seasoned perfectly and with the right temp! Wings and rice piping hot while salad was nice and chill! The Hive sauce was spot on! Nice blend of seasoning! My friend had the Hive Pasta w/shrimp. She enjoyed it. She said the sauce was delicious but felt her shrimp lacked seasoning as it was not blended into the sauce. I ended up eating the shrimp and it was fine to me. The food was reasonable but the drinks I found to be a bit pricy. I would probably visit again.

We were walking to go to a place across the street and decided to try this instead. The vibe inside was different, it is loud and did not feel welcoming when we came in. The food was good but your served w plastic silverware and a basket of "extras" like a diner. Asha was our server and she was attentive and we never waited for anything once we got to her.
