Amazing service and food! Love this place would recommend to anyone i love the salmon it's very flavorful and cooked to perfection my waitress Lici was amazing the customer service is top tier

This past Mother's Day my daughter decided to check these guys out and to be a patron for the black business! Well apparently we caught them on a very bad day of all days! It took us about 2hrs to get in the restaurant and no lines! But anyway we went out on the patio as my wife like to do! Then it took another hour to order and get our food! The waitress that showed up was very nice and offered her apology for the delay and said staff had called out and we were going to be served soon! The food I HAD WAS a steak not Cooked to my order med well but well done and no flavor! My daughter is vegan and her order finally came a few minutes later!My wife ordered the salmon meal which never came out before we decided to just leave! We told them to put it in a to go plate but it was still not ready we were there about 2-3 hrs already! Salad came out after my tough steak was almost gone! I'm used to it coming out before main course! Needless to say it will be awhile before we return if they're still in business!! I am not sure about recommending this place right now!! Let them get it together first!!

My friend chose to celebrate her birthday here on 10/12/24. Upon arrival, I thought the business was closed but they were just not busy. The decor of this restaurant is gorgeous. The blue lights and interior setup work together flawlessly. The fish tank in the bar is the perfect touch. Our waitress was great. She was patient and knowledgeable. The reason for the three is is because receiving our food was a LONG PROCESS. You're given a 120 minute time limit for your table, yet it took close to an hour to receive our food despite there being only 3 parties of eaters in the place. The presentation of our meals was as beautiful as the decor! The taste was okay. I give it a 6. I also ordered a berry martini which was served in a heart shaped glass and I give it a 6 too. Most of those points are in presentation. If you try this establishment, bring your own water. If you order it, it's $8 for a basic bottle. You can't order a glass of water unless you pay the $8. Something about the nearby apartments not allowing them to serve tap water ‍

I appreciate the hard work the owner and staff have put into creating this establishment. My husband and I came for their first "Meet the Neighbors" event. Because it was a special event, we each got 1 free cocktail. I had the lemon drop which was well made and tasty. The place itself has a lounge feel. Think low lighting and lounge type seating.The menu isn't huge but I think it's big enough. I prefer this for restaurants because they can focus on perfecting a few things instead of making a lot of subpar dishes. The menu prices are a bit higher than needed I believe ($35+). I had the salmon and my husband had the Guru chicken dish. The salmon was flavorful and well cooked. The chicken was perfectly crispy and had great flavor.Only downsides are that it took a while to get our food (and this wasn't really acknowledged). We saw several other people who arrived after us get their food first. A simple apology would have sufficed. Secondly, the prices. For the amount of food (no leftovers), it's a bit too high to be a place we frequent often.

While the service and ambiance was nice and our server was super kind, everything else was unfortunately subpar. The mimosas were tasty (although more juice than champagne). I ordered the guru plate for brunch and let me just say.... You can make this at home for half the price and it'll probably taste better. The sourdough bread was toasted white bread with salt and pepper. Also, everything was cooked in chicken broth. Including the grits. The sausages were nicely sized but nasty. Also, the worst part is that the restaurant doesn't offer complimentary water (as any restaurant that prides its self on guest experience and not just money does). Instead your option is to pay $8 for a large bottle of Voss water. Ridiculous. Gratuity was included on my ~$30 meal. Since my service was fine, I didn't mind but I can see this being annoying if the service is subpar. Maybe dinner is better, but this place can be skipped for brunch.

Recommended by a great coworker and friend for a girls' night out. Ambiance was great, beautiful establishment. From the time we walked in the door, Russell was great. He answered menu questions, gave suggestions when asked, and mixed drinks to perfection. Will definitely patronize again. If you're ever in Decatur, where it's greater, check them out. It will not disappoint.

Service was way too slow. Hardly anyone was there. It took an hour to get fries...... Iced tea was ok. Plenty of parking.

Real talk. This restaurant must be paying to remove bad reviews and or asking/incentivizing for positive reviews. Either way, it's disingenuous because their favorable reviews don't reflect the *TRUE* dining experience. Simply put, this place needs to CLOSE until they figure out how to operate a restaurant. The owner is super nice, but they're off operationally. Way off!!We had reservations. As soon as we walked in, we were told to wait a few minutes. After waiting several minutes, we were told that the kitchen was backed up. That was extremely bizarre because the restaurant was only half full. We were talking with a couple next to us, who was subsequently seated. Next thing we know, they're leaving. They ended up telling us that when they got seated, their server said that people were waiting upwards of an hour to get their food. Again, the restaurant was just half full. Shortly thereafter, the hostess shared with me that they were indeed backed up, and they only had 2 cooks. I asked if we could just come back another time in exchange for a discount for the extended wait. I felt that was fair, considering we were waiting 30 minutes past our reservation time. The hostess asked the owner, who said he would serve us directly in exchange for the long wait time. We accepted.The owner comes to the table, takes our order, and guess what? We're sitting for 45 minutes waiting on our food. By that time, there were only 5 tables seated with guests in the entire restaurant.None of them were large parties. If 2 cooks can't handle 5 tables, you have a real problem.We ended up leaving. No food at all.All in all, I can't recommend this restaurant. First impressions are truly lasting ones. This was my first time there, and the experience was enough for me to say I won't be back!

On 9/22/2024, my husband insisted that we attend The Guru Restaurant to celebrate his birthday. What an amazing experience! The restaurant ambiance is so upscale and desirable. Nice shades of blue and gray. The nite we went the restaurant was slow but, that was great for us. Our waitress, Alicia was so nice and attentive. The food was incredible! Because the place was moving slow, we asked the head chef to come to our table. We had to meet him and tell him how delicious the food was. It was a delightful evening and we will go back soon!

Amazing food, best I've had in a while and I'm from DC, A foodie town. Ambiance very nice and loungie. Service was good as well. Will visit every time in town.
