The best gumbo north of New Orleans.we had the "FLIGHT" which is three flavors:- red beans & rice- gumbo- crawfish etoufeeA great treat was my appetizer of fried green tomatoes. They had a wonderful crust and were crispy. I've had them soggy elsewhere, and there's nothing worse. What was strange is that we wanted to make 6:30 reservations. We went online and the earliest we could get was 7:15. When we got to the restaurant on a Thursday evening, there were only four tables that had diners. There were plenty of empty tables.Dress is causal to extremely casual. A full bar is offered. The bread is flown in from NOLA, nice. We were served four warmed SMALL slices for $3., with no butter. If there was butter offered, my rating would pop up.

I was in Nashville for a conference and happened upon this place as it was down the street from the apartment I stayed at in The Gulch. I loved everything about this place! The music was great, the staff were friendly, and everything was clean.Mike (or maybe his name was Matt) who was tending the bar was fantastic! Made great recommendations for food and drinks, checked on us regularly, and was super friendly. The food was all fantastic! We started with the fried green tomatoes with remoulade sauce. They were so delightfully crunchy on the outside and perfectly cooked and still sweet on the inside - just like they are supposed to be!I had the blackened shrimp po'boy - on REAL Leidenheimer bread! It was authentic in appearance and flavor! I had the Cajun potato salad as a side and it was pretty good! My dining companion had the chicken and sausage gumbo which was delicious and slightly spicy. We had banana foster pudding for dessert - it was freshly made, it was light, and perfectly sweet. The strawberry daiquiri was SO good! I had a couple, which I don't usually do! It also came with a gummy worm in it. So fun!If you want an authentic taste of New Orleans cuisine while in Nashville, I highly recommend this place!

Even in Nashville you have to have some gumbo and gator tail bits! Delicious all around! Service was great too!

Our party order 3 chicken gumbos , the alligator bites, fried cat fish, and the fried green tomatoes. The standout was the chicken gumbos. The ingredients are incredibly fresh and the taste profile was spot on. The smokiness and the spice was well balanced. Everything was fine but didn't shine as the gumbo was the star!

A little gumbo place at the gulch...we came here for lunch and ordered two gumbo and side of fries tomato and an order of bagnets. They all were so younger and great size. The claw fish gumbo was a must if you like seafood. The green tomato was refreshing...The staffs here are super friendly.

Slick original cool delicious local Nashville pad lightening it up w classic Cajun dishes amped up for the 'discerning' out-of-town tourists & clientele. The great majority of their Food and Bevs sourced locally from Nashville and closer TN providers. See their Yazoo Gerst Amber Ale if looking for a novel crisp bright bev.Our server / staff were well informed, speedy, & pleasant. Def recommend.Sits in a cooler hip downtown NVille area drawing you to their renowned Cumberland River netherworld.

We visited during lunch and it was not crowded. We started with Hurricane and a Cajun BM. Both we very tasty with the Hurricane being one of the best I've tasted. Hubby got his Bloody Mary extra spicy and he said it delivered without compromise to the flavors. We shared a Gumbo flight with my favorite being the Chicken Sausage. Hubby's favorite was the seafood gumbo both had deep roux with perfect spice and flavors required for a legit gumbo. He didn't care for the shrimp étouffée. I had the chick Po Boy with the hot honey Hubby had the shrimp basket with cocktail. The bread on that po boy made me mad when I got full. I could only finish half but it as was spicy and sweet with perfect soft bread, amazing pickles as well. Hubby said the shrimp were well seasoned and the breading was solid. This will be a staple for a Nashville visit.

Stopped in Nashville, thought we should try Gumbo Bros. We were seated quickly, server was nice- bartender/manager was interesting. Food took quite some time, they got a large DoorDash order right before we ordered. So no biggie. We ordered the gumbo flight and it was fun to try them! I truly loved the chicken and sausage gumbo. I could eat a whole bowl especially when it gets cold! The others were pretty good. The seafood gumbo had a lot of crab and shrimp. The étouffée was quite good! The catfish breading was delicious, the catfish itself was a little slimy- cut too thick maybe. But nonetheless it was pretty good overall at Gumbo Bros.

Pretty authentic cajun spot in The Gulch area of Nashville. Has great walkability to other shops. The service was friendly and the food was good. The gumbo is nicely spiced...if you don't like spicy, I wouldn't recommend however.
