The Greatest Bar

This bar is in a great location, it's by everything and accessible to transit and tons of things to do in the area. My friends and I stopped in to grab some drinks and apps before the usher concert. We forgot to make reservations at one of our favorite restaurants so decided to stop in here as the music called us in and we used to have a blast years ago. Upon arriving the crowd and usher music blasting were creating a great vibe. We sat down at a table near the bar as the bar was already getting full. We reviewed the menus already on the table and knew instantly we wanted the sliders, mine with sweet potato fries and a few different drinks. We placed our orders and waited. Around 20+ minutes later, our food arrived, all wrong and missing multiple items. The server didn't know much so we waited for our waitress. When she finally came to check on us and we filled her in she went back to the kitchen and apologized that they told her they were out of 3 ingredients we were missing on our burgers and couldn't make new ones because they were out. They were dry, overdone (we asked for medium) and missed all the toppings. We weren't comped anything and not much was done to try and fix the issues. We were quickly reminded why we stopped going to this bar years ago.

Always an excellent decision. One of the few remaining Classic Boston nightlife landmarks.Sports fans: don't skip this one.

Great Bar, plenty of TV's to watch your favorite sport. We were there for the Copa, Argentina game. Everyone had a great time service was friendly and quick. Thanks

We are in Boston to visit our daughter and decided we'd like to catch some of the March Madness games and grab dinner after a day out. To be honest, the reviews aren't great but they didn't deal with food so we gave The Greatest Bar a go! I will have to say that we had the BEST experience! Our service was wonderful, the food was delicious, and multiple large screens allowed everyone in our party to see the games. I will say, they took service a step further... we left and were about a solid block and a half down the way and one of the staff chased us down because I left my phone at our table. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Went here to watch an England game Totally packed and so much fun. The staff handled the mob very well. Food has definitely improved Just wish they carried ice tea or coke products.

Good service, decent food. But the menu says for their jumbo wings that it is a pound of wings. I can assure you I was not given a pound of wings. Maybe a half pound I dont even know about that.

I work in the neighborhood and am always struck by how friendly, knowledgeable, and hospitable the staff here is. The ambience is fantastic and most times there's no better place in the West End to watch a game than at The Greatest Bar on Friend Street in Boston!

If I could give this place a 0 I would. Bouncers are out of control and tried to throw my handicapped friend down the stairs after he wanted to use the bathroom. The lady manager tried to say that he punched the bouncer, and when asked for the security footage she would not provide. Nor would provide it to the police. Don't know how this place isn't shut down, this isn't the only time this has happened.Also - If you like food that has had rats running through the kitchen, then this is your place!

We went on a busy sports night, service was good, considering. Drinks were eh but it was late and becoming rowdy so I can see why we did not receive top notch drinks. The nachos... I typically do not eat nachos but these... man... they were layered- like if you were to make them at home- but with restaurant quality. Will go back again and for a good sports game and nachos.

Love this place. The actual Greatest Bar. Great food, great drinks. Great bar tenders. Great atmosphere. I'm glad I came.
