Sorry, but I had higher expectations. I *think* you're allowed to park in the lot out back and the view is likely pretty good in the daytime. Came in to try the 7-9 pm Happy Hour. The $3 off food and $2 off drinks is kind of a gimmick because the regular prices are too high by a similar amount. The food quality was somewhat amateurish and the presentation was lacking. My son said that his crispy chicken sandwich fell somewhere between Aldi red bag and McDonald's. The fries side portion was surprisingly stingy. To survive in this neighborhood, it seems like the owner needs to hire a real chef and step up the food quality. Service was pleasant enough.

We read the not great reviews, but still thought you would judge for ourselves, as we like prime rib and had seen the sign for prime rib being offered on Thursdays. We arrive around 6pm Thursday and were promptly seated in the almost empty place. (One guy was there watching hockey.)We told the waitress we wanted to order the prime rib special. She didn't know anything about it (despite the big sign outside), looked on the menu (it's not on there), and went away to ask about it. She never came back to tell us that they didn't have any prime rib for that Thursday. We only found out after because more people came in asking about it and overheard that the would be brisket available in an hour, but no prime rib. (We had been waiting for 10 minutes for the answer.)Also, what was funny was watching the guy working there going to the liquor store next door to bring back four packs, including one for Diet Coke we had just ordered. (We saw him going back and forth at least twice.)We left after hearing there would be no prime rib and will not being giving this place another try.

As a local, I really wanted to love this place! It's close by, great views and has the 'dive bar feel' I like. Unfortunately, it was terrible and we wouldn't go back. The first glass of Prosecco was old and had obviously been opened a while; thankfully it was re-poured without having to ask. There was no prime rib, despite the huge sign advertisement on the side of the building. We were the only table in there and ultimately decided to order an appetizer (to not seem too rude) before deciding to go next door for dinner ... the mozzarella sticks were awful. The frozen ones from Costco turn out better than this! Sad, could be a cool place.

I love this place! Finding itself between Seasalt Del Mar and The West End Bar & Kitchen, the Goat is finding its mark by providing no thrills and a non pretentious atmosphere, but with a friendly neighborhood pub and culinary menu that everyone can relate too. That being said, I had the house beer battered fish tacos and a wholesome hand crafted cheese burger, made to order at a medium temp, with a side of house made battered onion rings were in order. The fish tacos were terrific. They were battered and fried on the spot. The batter consists two types of beers, one of them, Stone's Buenaveza Salt & Lime Lager, which was evident in the batter with its subtle hints of lime and specifically salt. It worked very well. The batter of the fish tacos was crispy and tasty, the fish inside was tender and succulent. The guacamole is made fresh daily, so it is also quite good. I like the way they griddle the yellow corn tortillas with a little bit of oil to give them, not just that nice texture, but also helps bring out the flavor of the yellow corn. The burger was a smash. I recommend that you visit between the hours of 7 pm to 9 pm because it's their Happy Hour time, and you can get the burger for $3 off the regular price of $16. The 1/4 pound hand formed patty offers very good texture and flavor. It was well seasoned and cooked at the proper temp as I requested. I rather enjoyed the burger. Honestly, it reminded me of a real good homemade burger but with a little extra love. The melee of ingredients they put into the beef is that extra love. It's a very tasty beef burger. I like that they offer the condiments on the side so patrons can control the dressing on their burger. Oh yes, not only does the burger come on a toasted brioche bun, but it comes with quality and delicious Tillamook Cheddar Cheese. There's no holding back on the quality of the ingredients here. I would order this burger again. The onions rings were super crispy and well seasoned. The Maui Onions worked great here. They were thick and tender with that slight sweet flavor. When you get these, ask for a side of their house salsa which came with the fish tacos. For some reason, the onions rings and the salsa got along very well. Service was what I expected: welcoming and down to earth friendly. This place has that neighborhood feeling where people will meet for idle conversations and libations, watch the game on the vast array of television, but more importantly, share a meal because the food screams, "hey, we got you covered!" Oh yes, did I tell you that they have Vintage 1980's Video Games available? Well they do! They have Galaga, Space Invaders, and Ms. Pac-Man. Rumors have it that there will be more to come. You got to love it!

We met up with a few friends to watch the Niner playoff game. The bar is located in one of the nicest area in San Diego, not far from Torrey Pines beach. Relatively small bar with a small, but good draft beer selection. We tried the chicken wings which were very good. The wings were seasoned well and they serve your choice of sauce on the side, which was a nice touch. My biggest gripe was with the game itself. They have several TVs, but all of them are on different feeds with different delays. Everyone in the bar were confused to what to watch and what made it worse is the sound was on the game with the longest delay. If I was in the neighborhood, I would return for the food, but I would not come back to watch a game.

Even though this place has mediocre food I had wonderful time and it was a very memorable night. I think it was the ambiance and memories associated with this place rather than its actual attributes but I love it.

Would have been nice if they opened at the time they said they would. Hours say open at 4. No lights on. Stood around for 15 minutes until I got over it.
