Apparently this place has been here for over a year, I had no idea! This lunch spot took over the old Cafe Columbia space in the Columbia Bank building downtown. Clean, plenty of seating, fast service and most importantly, they turn out a great panini! I tried the Caprese, it was fantastic and reasonably priced. I'll be back.

This little restaurant seems like a nice improvement over its predecessor. They had a good selection of sandwiches, but I stuck with my old standby -- the BLT. It was a good sandwich with good quality bacon. The owner told me that their paninis were great -- I should have tried one. She also said that their Reubens were really, really good. Okay...for me, this is throwing down the gauntlet. However, this was after I ate the BLT, so it will have to wait until next time. The owner mentioned that she has another sandwich shop in Tacoma, but I didn't catch the name. I will follow up on that. They are so new that they don't have a phone or website.

I work in the area and am constantly on the lookout for new lunch places (most places I've tried have been disappointing unfortunately). I kept seeing people walking near the Columbia Bank building carrying food so today I decided to be adventurous and wander down that way. I wasn't sure where they were coming from because there's no sign on the outside of the building for a restaurant. After peering in the windows, I realized there was a deli inside.Their menu isn't terribly large (they do have many breakfast offerings), but it looked tasty. I opted for the cold roast beef sandwich and a small container of broccoli salad. Wow, this is one of the best sandwiches I've had in the area! It was a good sized sandwich made fresh while I waited and the combined total for both items was less than most places charge for a sandwich alone. I'll definitely be back to try something new.

I didn't even know this restaurant was here in the Columbia Bank building until recently! I walk by this building nearly everyday during my lunch hour from work and only just noticed it. It isn't all that new either when I went in to give it a try for lunch. I think they said that they have been here for about two years. There are no signs outside to see that there is something here. I only realized it was here when I glanced in the window from the sidewalk and saw the Mastercard and Visa logo on the door to go in and saw some people eating. For my lunch here I had a Caprese panini. It was pretty good! Not too bad. I had a meal and had chips to go along with my sandwich and a drink.I also got a chocolate chip cookie for my afternoon break and that was very good. It tasted fresh which is always a huge important factor for me.

NO STARS for the Galley. This is why...I work in the area and will never spend my money in this establishment again. Yesterday I witnessed the manager , Christine, attack a customer verbally in front of many customers. Christine was absolutely mean, rude, loud , irrational and just plain HORRIBLE to this person. I was there long enough to see that the person that Christine attacked was doing nothing to deserve the abuse. Why would Chrisine think it is ok to attack people in her place of business? She was completely disrespectful and I was embarrassed for the customer. Quite frankly I felt disrespected as well just having to witness this abuse. I found out that the person that she attacked in an employee in the building and I was shocked and appalled that this is allowed to happen. I hope that there are consequences for this hostile behavior. Harassing a customer is NOT OK. Shame on you Christine and shame on the Galley for allowing Christine to abuse your customers.
