We stopped in from Canada for an afternoon drink and a bite to eat after touring the museum and had exceptional service. Appetizers (cauliflower, sliders, poutine) where above expected. A beautiful patio and worth the stop.

Went for Saturday lunch, and it was very busy! Nice, spacious and clean modern-esque space with a pleasant ambience.I had a Shirley Temple, Fish and Chips, and the Basque Cheesecake to finish. Loved the crispy, light batter on the fish and the fries were very fluffy inside. The cheesecake was super creamy, and I liked the contrasting plum topping.Overall, a great experience and would be back!

Stopped by for a solo lunch after visiting The Art Institute. 5/5 for the service. Staff was attentive and went above expectations (I asked for extra ketchup and got 3 cups instead of 1, also they left a carafe of water at my table). However, just got a simple burger and it was very basic/unmemorable. I think if you're gunna have a burger at a fancy restaurant, at least make it good. This didn't have any distinct taste, flair, seasoning, etc. Not opposed to coming back again because the menu looked good and the staff was excellent, just do not recommend the burger.

When we arrived at the restaurant, we were immediately seated. We ordered drinks, the wheat raspberry beer and a perfectly poured Guinness. For starters, my husband has the Scotch egg. It looked perfect and he loved it. My watermelon salad was the best salad and frankly obscenely delicious. The coconut curry with rice was a little spicier than I would have liked, keep in mind that I'm a bit of a wuss with spice. The fish and chips were top notch. The fish was so crispy on the outside and flakey but almost buttery on the inside. Service was fantastic. The restaurant was quite warm overall. It made my husband nauseous which made it tough to enjoy dinner. I recommend sitting in the bar area, as it was much more cool and open.

After a spectacular day at the NASCAR event, my date and I decided to continue our adventure with a spontaneous date at the Gage. With no reservations, I was happy they were able to accommodate us, what a beautiful choice. We started with the oysters and they were superb. The tiny hot sauce bottles that accompanied them were not only cute, but added the perfect kick to the oysters. It was a delightful and charming touch. For a main course, we ordered the coconut curry and steak as well as the fish and chips. Both were great! The coconut curry was rich and flavorful, and the steak was cooked to perfection. The fish and chips were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside just the way fish and chips should be.The ambience of the Gage combined with the delicious food made our date unforgettable .

Came here to bond with my aunt, and the restaurant really made everything come together. Amazing service. I can't believe how much information our server, Ethan knew! The fried pickles were sooo yummy. The sauce, the crust, and the portion was amazing! The restrooms are super clean, as well as the entire restaurant to begin with. Very well kept for sure! Definitely taking my boyfriend here next weekend for his 21st!

I would come here again in a heartbeat - it was really good. I will have to say as someone who is celiac, they did not have as many gluten-free options as I wanted, but I ended up getting something that was gluten-free and it was absolutely fantastic. The staff were cool and the place was packed. They offered us the option of sitting at the bar or outside when it felt like 100° so we had sat outside and it was fine. They kept the water flowing. Someone just told me to point out they had nice bathrooms, but it will be a cold day when I take a picture inside a bathroom. Ha. Great restaurant

This is the first place I go every time I'm in Chicago. I gotta have an old fashioned followed by the GTO. The menu is always different every time I come, with a few staples that I know are always amazing. If you stop at one place in Chicago, let it be here! The food is amazing. I just ate the best cooked Peking duck I've had anywhere. Period. Get the old fashioned and the GTO. If you're up for more, ask the staff what's new and what's hot. Everyone here aims to please and you will leave with a smile.

Summertime Chi has commenced, and I was out and about in the city on Saturday feeling like Carrie Bradshaw--minus the Manolo Blahniks and the relationship issues. I made a reservation for brunch with my old DePaul college friends. Being a bit of a time nerd, I arrived early because I believe that if you're on time, you're actually late.I had to wait about 10 minutes for a table to be cleared off, which felt a bit awkward since there was no bench to sit on in front of the restaurant. Despite this, the hostess was very polite and friendly. Once seated, a kind and personable waiter named Joseph came over to take my drink order.Eventually, my friends trickled in, and we had a blast. The food was delicious! This was my first time at this restaurant, and the atmosphere was an upscale, posh, laid-back vibe. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and look forward to going back soon!

What a great Sunday brunch! Our food was fantastic, the drinks were great, and the mocha - which I ordered by mistake! - was the best I've ever had, chocolate-y but not sweetTo top it off, our server, Sydney (sp?) was phenomenal: lots of fun, helpful, and attentive without being intrusive. This was our first experience at The Gage but it won't be our last!
