The Funky Frenchie

I can see why this place has been in the magazines! The frenchie waffles are adorable, and the breakfast croissants are deliciously fresh. I like how filling the meal was and that we were given an option for fries or a salad. I opted for the salad as my side, and I was not disappointed! It came with strawberries and fresh greens. We also tried two iced chai oat milk lattes, which were lovely. The host was also our server, and he was so kind! He's very passionate about Frenchies! They had a Frenchie race recently, and he was so excited to tell us all about it.The view of the harbor is incredible! Note that there is limited seating, but we were fine at 11am. There is also handicapped parking in the lot next door, too.

Love this place!! So nice to eat healthy in a casual outdoor spot on the water with such nice people! We will stop here for a bite after our walk every chance we get now!

Are at The Funky Frenchie today, apologies for not getting better photos but couldn't wait to dig in. The food was fresh and super delicious. The service was amazing, couldn't have asked for a nicer staff. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to dig in on some local good breakfast / brunch food. Will come back again for sure !

The Food here is so flavorful and consistent. The pride that goes into each dish is reflective in its presentation and taste. The owners and staff are always so friendly and professional. A must try if you're in the area. A hidden gem in SD.

The Funky Frenchie is a funky fresh unique eatery with a lovely view of the ocean. I appreciate a cafe that serves an espresso. I also tried the coconut shrimp dish which was superb as the shrimp were crispy and served piping hot. I loved the mojo potatoes and salad that was served with the shrimp. The service was friendly and knowledgeable. For San Diego, the prices are very reasonable and they use quality ingredients. Please visit this bow wow of a cafe.

We're staying at the Sheraton and wanted to eat somewhere other than at the hotel and we found this place while out on a run (but it's wicked close to the hotel). It's not a huge menu but everything looks good. We had the Buenos Dias - 2 eggs, avocado, bacon, tomato, and lettuce on toasted sourdough (The picture is half of the meal). It comes with a salad or waffle fries. $14 And the Funky Lemonade hit the spot!We'll be back for sure.

The Funky Frenchie is hidden away amidst a Marina office and a number of yacht brokerages. The owner started with a food truck and is working to expand into the restaurant business. Don't let the humble location mislead you - the breakfast/brunch offerings we tried were all beautifully prepared and delicious. Please give this spot a Harbor Island a try! I expect great things in the future from the Funky Frenchie!

Great food! Simple breakfast that tastes great and you cannot beat the view! Will definitely return whenever I am in San Diego

This was a fun spot to stumble across. Very casual small spot. Service was so hospitable, and the food was really good. Really liked this place. Not your typical restaurant. Just a quick stop and eat spot.
