The Fire Spot is my go to AYCE BBQ spot in San Diego for high quality meats. I recommend getting the deluxe menu for $38.99. It's well worth the $5 upgrade over the base menu as you can indulge in the prime cut steak. This is my favorite meat on the menu. I like to season them with salt, sear them on high heat, then cut them up and let them cook to a medium rare. I order them on every round. The charcoal grills at the Fire Spot give the meat a richness of flavor you cannot obtain on regular KBBQ grills. When coming for dinner, plan to arrive at opening at 4:30 pm if you can. You need to check-in in person on the iPad. I've come at 5:30 pm and needed to wait 1 hour with a group of 3. That being said, it is worth the wait because the quality of the meats is superior to other AYCE spots in San Diego. To break up the hot greasy meats, I highly recommend the cold noodles. They are a quality standalone entree quality dish! These would normally cost $15 as a standalone entree. The servers are friendly and hardworking. I highly recommend you check this spot out!

Found this spot on Yelp prior to my stay in San Diego and was not disappointed. With charcoal kbbq spots few and far between, I had to check it out. The first thing I noticed is that the restaurant (and the parking lot) are quite small and you will probably have to wait before eating. But it was most definitely worth it. The charcoal taste was an amazing addition to their already quality meats. In addition their soups and sides that could be ordered were much better than your average kbbq spot with the soondubu standing out to me. They also offer a variety of dipping sauces such as ponzu as well as a spicy garlic. My only real complaint is that their banchans were a bit lacking but everything else was so good that I barely had time to snack on them anyways. A must visit for KBBQ in San Diego

The fire spot Parking is going to be the hardest part along with the wait time. This is in the same lot as O'Brien, Tap Ex, the taco stand and RakiRaki. The spaces are small and limited. The lots near by usually have someone watching their spots as parking is a premium around this area. Wait times vary but they have a tablet to check in on. Says you can check in via Yelp as well. Not a lot of tables with vent so big parties maybe split up or have a long wait time. Seating can get tight with the limit space they have there. Service was great. They were attentive and got our request quickly. They were able to answer questions we had about the food options.. Water is served disposable plastic cups. The sodas and other drinks are per serving. Lots meat, seafood and vegetable options. Main thing we notice that the meat wasn't frozen. Things tasted fresher and cleaner. Cooking on coals and the grill they have was different experience. Price point is good for the quality of food they have. I'll be coming back here soon. Recommending this place to all my friends and family.

Came here last week for dinner during the weekend. They use waitlist for their line so we knew an estimate on how long we'd be waiting. This place is definitely worth the wait! We ordered their premium menu and everything was delicious! Meat quality was really good and love all the options for sides. Also love that they use charcoal grills. We'll be coming here more for kbbq

Came here on a Saturday night with 5 friends, definitely show up like an hour before you even think you'll be hungry because the wait is killer and you can only sign up in person on their wait-list. I wouldn't recommend coming in a group bigger than 6, they don't have too much space and you'll want to optimize your time there. They had charcoal grills which added to the feel of the place, and also to the flavor of the meats.Quality of their meats was really good, and their service was super quick! They checked on us regularly refilling our water and sides throughout the meal. We got a selection of everything from brisket, spicy pork belly, and even chicken heart (which this place was surprisingly good for). A little on the pricier side in my opinion, but definitely worth the money.Overall I would recommend this place, and I'll definitely be coming back soon!

I decided to take my parents here and we got the more expensive option. My parents really enjoyed it and liked the quality of the food. I also really liked their dry seasoning that they have. The servers are really attentive and nice. The place is a bit small so there is definitely a wait on weekends.

My first time here and it was so fire!! Heard lots of good things about this place and it definitely lived up to my expectations, except I didn't know it was chinese bbq (not korean)! Meat was so fresh, veggies in the side dishes and salad were really yummy, and corn cheese was a must! The brisket was really thin compared to other bbq places, so it crisped up really well! The waiter recommended the orange soda called Arctic Ocean, which is a chinese soda comparable to Fanta except yummier somehow!! The wait was 1.5 hours unfortunately, even though we got there around 5pm which I (mistakenly) thought was going to be early enough to beat the dinner rush. Also parking was really difficult in the small Convoy lot.

For over a decade, I've been loyal to my go-to KBBQ spot, but a packed house led me to try Fire Spot, and wow, what a discovery! They use charcoal to cook the meats, and the flavor difference is undeniable--it's easily the best KBBQ experience in terms of flavor and meat quality. The cuts of meat are top-notch, perfectly prepared, and bursting with flavor thanks to the charcoal grilling. However, it's worth noting that Fire Spot is a small place, so be prepared for a wait during peak times. While the condiments are decent, they pale in comparison to the star of the show: the meats.Overall, if you're a fan of Korean BBQ and haven't tried Fire Spot yet, you're missing out on a true culinary gem. Just be patient during busy hours, because the incredible flavors are well worth the wait.

High quality meats for a VERY affordable price. This is my favorite AYCE KBBQ ever! It's a loud bustling place, service was amazing, banchan was delicious, I really can't think of anything this restaurant didn't do perfectly. Charcoal-based grilling made the meat taste less oily and imbued it with a smokey flavor. Favorite cuts of meat included handcut beef and short rib. This is the perfect spot to go to celebrate something!

It used to be a 5 stars place my friends and I visited more than ten times since it opened. However I will not go back anymore. Let me tell you why.2 of us arrived at 12.09pm, 9 mins after they opened on Saturday noon. We were told it's full and we need to wait to another 1 hour, while obviously one group of 3 occupied on side of the 6 seats table, left the another side empty. Another group had 3 adults and 1 baby. There were definitely enough room to seat us 2 on both tables. We asked the customers politely if we could share the spare room and they all agreed. However one of the waiters rejected us rudely, he even said: NO MEANS NO!Who do you think you are?So friends, please don't waste your time on some place which already make enough money and doesn't care about customers. Go to all the other BBQ buffers in Convey areas. You will have better food and service even at a lower price ~~~
