The Filling Station

We arrived just 45 minutes before close, but the hostess and wait staff didn't bat an eye about our late arrival. Blue cheese burger was mounded over with cheese. Mushroom Swiss burger had freshly sautéed mushrooms that were cooked perfectly. Restaurant was very clean.

The Filling Station is always a solid, reliable choice when looking for a family-friendly meal in Bellingham. Their burgers are still just as delicious as ever, although their menu has been whittled down quite a bit since the pandemic. Gone is my favorite mushroom burger with a side of au jus - I swear I ordered one to go at least twice a week during the lockdown! But still, it's hard to go wrong here, especially if you grab a side of their famous "tire treads" fries.When I'm not in the mood for a burger, I like their salads a lot. They do have the option to add a protein to your salad - although it comes at quite a price. Recently I added salmon to a salad and it brought the price to over $20. Which, I guess, is my biggest beef with The Filling Station: I'd no longer characterize their prices as affordable in the least. Last year, we went here in a group for my son's birthday dinner, and it was over $200 for the group. It felt like a lot for burgers. I guess that's just how things are nowadays.Bonus for their awesome weekday happy hour, with discounted drinks and some good food options. I recently noticed they have brunch now, too - I'll have to check it out next time I'm up that way!

50's vibe in this s burger joint. Service is great. Prices are fair. Lots of burger selections. Appetizers like dip sticks, hot rod and the junkyard..... fun names

I recently got to check out the Filling Station off of Alabama and felt like it was a pretty average experience. We arrived on a Saturday about 30 minutes after opening and found that it was already pretty busy inside (I was surprised by the large indoor fireplace, but felt it was out of place with the other decor). Despite only having the hostess working, I was impressed with getting our order taken within 15 minutes. While waiting for about 30 minutes for a burger and BLT, I noticed the restaurant filling up and there wasn't a single table available by the time the food came. The burger was decent (the au jus seemed superfluous honestly and didn't add much to the flavor of the burger) and I ended up giving the au jus to my husband to rehydrate his BLT that was completely dried out. So, maybe it was an off day for the Filling Station, but I would say this place was mediocre at best. I will say though, this place seemed to be very kid friendly, so if that's what you're looking for, then check this place out.

Food is always rich but amazing. Exactly what you want out of a burger place. Highly recommend a milkshake while you there.

We drove past and stopped in. Definitely cozy the seats aren't bad but could use cushioning. Staff was friendly. Clean. I loved the thunderbird (I didn't do pickles or station sauce) it was really good. The chicken was good dipped in the mint lemon vinaigrette. My family ordered the grilled cheese but it's a sandwich cut into pieces dipped in marinara. The fries are good. I will definitely be back but I will have to tell them no pumpkin seeds I have an allergy and it's in their salads. I didn't realize a house salad would be dangerous to order.

Very yummy bowls! The burgers weren't my thing, and although it's pretty pricey in my opinion it was worth it. I can't speak to the ambiance as I've always ordered takeout. But when I did the outside to go area is very cute but service does take a while since it's out of view.

Went to lunch with two adult grandsons.They both had burgers that they said were pretty good.I ordered salmon chowder made with wild coho salmon and it was pretty good. I also ordered cod fish & chips. The fish was very greasy,dripping when I picked it up,and laying in a puddle of oil in the basket. I could only eat one of the two pieces. The fries were hot and crisp, and not greasy at all.When I gave my opinion of the fish, the server offered to bring me something else,and I declined. I ate all the fries and the cole slaw. They did knock 50% off my order, which I felt was fair.I will give them another chance some time.And one of my grasndsons picked up the check!

Celebrated a friend's birthday here on a busy Friday night. The staff was very accommodating and provided excellent service. The selection of interesting burgers is amazing. I had their house salad topped with fresh salmon. All of the people in our party were regulars of this restaurant and particularly like the fabulous french fries!!!!

Good service! We saw our waitress a good amount where we never had to wonder where she is nor was she at our table constantly. I love the fun auto theme throughout the restaurant. The license plates are interesting. I got a convertiBOWL this time because I wanted to eat a little healthier but I still feel like I got food. I added avocado to mine for a little more substance. The is a good family place to go and there are still adult beverages if you want one.
