The Fat Shallot At The Mart

I was so happy to see The Fat Shallot with a storefront at the Merchandise Mart! I remember them as a food truck. Their counter service was so kind. I got the turkey sandwich on their pretzel roll. I got the regular french fries. The meal was outstanding and the portion sizes are huge!

I'm only here to comment on the BLT. I previously lived in Chicago for a year and had the most amazing BLT from the fat shallot food truck. It's been 5 years, and I still dream about it and compare every other BLT to it. I finally was back in Chicago and got to be reunited with the BLT sandwich of my dreams. It's got SO MUCH BACON. And the bacon is so CRISPY, that it dissolves in your mouth. And just when you think there can't be more bacon ... indeed there is!!! I'm looking forward to visiting the in laws in Chicago again so that I can come back to The Fat Shallot

Horrible service. They also recently started serving breakfast but they don't open until 9a (after everyone has to be at work) and they just sit on their phones texting until 9a.

The perfect spot to stop for lunch! I tried the Buffalo chicken sandwich and truffle fries. The sandwich was huge and delicious and I will be dreaming about the truffle sauce for the next few months.

The Fat Shallot has the best sandwiches and sides. I am thrilled they have opened at the Merchandise Mart. My personal favorite is the Ruben but everything is deelish!!!. The staff is warm and friendly, the fries are wonderful and it will be a great addition to the area to have them at them at the Mart.Can't wait to try the new breakfast sandwich. Sounds yummy.

The best Grilled Cheese and Turkey sandwiches in the city! Their prices are definitely reasonable for their portions and the service is always great. Highly recommend!
