The Fat Greek

This will be an early opening and recent combined review. Unfortunately, recent has been nowhere near as good as their soft opening food quality. Also the staff has changed completely from the soft opening and I feel like the big boss was there overseeing everything in the beginning but now I haven't seen him at all in recent visits and it's showing in the quality. Soft opening, Fat Greek Gyro was truly spectacular. Stuffed with meats that were freshly shaved off the spits. Filling's were amazing and absolutely loved it so much I returned the same week and waited another 45 minutes for my FGG again. (I even put a fabulous review on Google after that first visit.)Recent experiences have been much different for me. Food quality has dropped significantly. Fresh meats are not added, portion size of the Fat Greek Gyro has shrunk immensely from opening but what bothers me the most is definitely the lack of meats being fresh. I watched as an employee dug the old meat out from the metal bin as the person on the grill was just tossing the fresh meat into the same tub. I knew right then this gyro was not going to be very good and I was right. Maybe fresh off the spit meat can be requested but otherwise it's going to be a pass for me in the future. I highly recommended TFG to relatives a couple streets away from them and they were very unimpressed after I totally pumped it up. Hopefully the owner will see this am address the issues.

I can see they're trying, but are short staffed and seem unorganized. There was confusion about our order, which had been entered online. Then the order wasn't ready. I waited another 15 minutes beyond the time the order was supposed to be ready. The falafel wrap was good. The lamb souvlaki was overcooked and very hard to chew. The "roasted potatoes," though nicely seasoned, could have been boiled. There were no skins left on the potatoes. The side Greek salad was fine and fresh. It's such a pain to park in East Arlington that I will not be returning anytime soon. Why doesn't the town try to address the lack of parking?

They're going through a lot of new restaurant woes and unfortunately I can only give them an average rating of 3/5. We ordered the mixed grill platter and they left some items out so I had to call out. The good thing is the manager was really nice about it and offered to deliver the items to me as I live locally. The unfortunate part of this gesture was he offered a free side of rice. The rice came in a mostly empty container and looked like it was half a scoop or whatever was left over as they were closing up for the night. Aside from this incident, objectively their food left a lot to be desired. The biggest critique would be regarding their meats and seasonings. The meats were all pretty dry, not juicy and didn't have a nice robust flavor. Boston has many amazing Gyro and Greek restaurants so they really failed to compete. Hoping they improve things because it's nice and close to my house but for now; can't give them anything above a 3 in good faith.

Now open. Soft opening as of this review so that they can smooth their operations out. Ordered during weeknight dinner and took about 30 min.The Fat Greek offers an array of Greek dishes in a fast-casual setting. Similar to Subway or Chipotle, the choices are pretty straight-forward. The menu has many Greek favorites, with one of the special gyros called "The Fat Greek", a gyro that has three different meats, fresh vegetables and creamy tzatziki, and special "FAT SAUCE". The falafel wrap was also tasty for a quick serve restaurant. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable.Welcome Pano and The Fat Greek team to the neighborhood!

Have been waiting to try this place and it did not disappoint at all. I'm so pleasantly surprised. Got the chicken gyro. Absolutely delicious! The staff inside was very nice. Great new addition to the neighborhood. Can't wait to come back.

We really enjoyed our meals! Welcoming and friendly staff. We had the skinny Greek bowl and chicken and rice bowl. Everything was fresh and delicious! We will be ordering from here on a regular basis!

Love love love! Ordered ahead and got the fat Greek bowl with a few modifications. It was quick, clean, everything was correct, and everyone was so kind. Definitely will be returning

Excellent Greek food & friendly service. We ordered take-out and it was done in 10-15 minutes. Highly recommend!

I had dinner with friends at the Fat Greek last night. The service was excellent, hosts were wonderful and went out of their way to be accommodating. I ordered the vegetarian platter and really enjoyed it. The spanakopita was great as were lemon roasted potatoes.The tzatziki (appetizer)was delicious with fresh warm pita. It was a relaxing and fun evening. Highly recommend coming here. I plan to come back soon again.

A group of us came here for the first time after giving up with the food line at the Greek festival & we're glad we did. We were totally delighted & impressed with the delicious food & great hospitality. We were even treated to complimentary appetizers & more. We especially enjoyed the kabobs & exceptional sides, warm pita including a generously full fresh salad. All better than the festival. Highly recommend this new place & will continue coming, especially before going to the movies.
