The Dog House Bar & Grill

My bf works nearby and has been having to go in on Sundays lately to catch up on stuff, so our new routine is that I'll chill at his work for a bit and then we go to the Dog House for a couple drinks and some food while watching football.If you like a good Reuben, this is the best I've found in my 14 years in Seattle and the competition is not even close. Not kidding - it's perfection, and my standards are high. Particularly if you are an east coaster like me looking for that thinly sliced corned beef that no one serves here, that's what they use! I was as shocked as anyone, trust me, but I've gotten at least a handful of Reubens here at this point, and have never been disappointed. The quality is consistent.Morgan is our usual bartender and she is impressively on top of her game, even when it's crowded. She checks in with us frequently and is better at anticipating needs than maybe anyone else I've ever seen. Try her Bloody Mary - you will thank me later!

The dog house is a Des Moines institution that has been slinging hot dogs for years. The arepas are really good if you want something different. I like to go and get a dog house dog and cheese fries, pile my toppings on at the topping bar, and eat on the deck to watch the world go by.

Great spot to grab a couple drinks before heading into Kittens next door. Bartender was nice and quick to make sure you're taken care of. Plenty of TVs to catch whatever game is on. Prices are on point.

Love this place!!! Convenient for me while I'm working in Seattle I can always stop by and make a order and get it under 15 min! Staff/ waitresses are cool as hell never had any bad interactions/experiences. On a night out it's next to a strip club-- me personally I love that I can go have a drink, go next door to enjoy myself, and go back and have another drink and place a to go order before the end of the night. They have a couple pool tables, tv, darts. Chill for you and friends to have a little fun on a slower weekday night. I recommend the dry rub wings w/ fries!!!! Omfggg busssdowwwn! It's super seasoned well!! You won't be disappointed!! Promise! Maybe some ranch !! Ouueeee weeee ! I'm about to go pick up some today !

BLUES JAM THURSDAY NIGHTS!If you love the blues and/or play an instrument, come on by The Dog House Thursday night for the jam! I came by around 8 PM, and the house band was still on the opening set. I was surprised to see that I was first on the signup list as this is much different from the LA bar jam scene. There, I would be like number 10 at least by this time. So, I did get to play my harp, and also, got to sing a song! A slow version of crossroads, ala Robert Johnson. I also got to play a couple of other tunes as well. And, I had a great time.I also ordered a chili burger. It was very good, and there is a variety of beers on draft, as well as a full bar.This is a sports bar and there are TVs over the bar to watch the games on. Also, some pool tables and the wait staff were very nice.So I had fun, the burger was good, and for a sports bar, I have no criticisms. Dog and Cat, or in this case Dog House Bar & Kitten Cabaret sharing the same building. A perfect pair as you can't legally imbibe alcohol at strip clubs, but next door you can.Met some really cool pool sharks here and they were absolutely into playing cutthroat and mixing players around the table. We all bought pitchers and shared stories on the free pool night Dog House has every week.The owner is a great lady and was quick to bring out drinks and snacks. If you're looking for cheap pool, quick drinks, and potential pregame before Kittens, this has exactly what you need.
