Had breakfast here on a Saturday morning. The hostess was quick to greet us and the wait time surprisingly was only 10 minutes. It's a very open space with big windows and a bar/counter to eat if you choose with no waiting. I had the farmer's skillet and a flight of mimosas. The food was amazing. Tasted home-cooked and very well seasoned. The mimosas were strong but hey, that's what makes them so good. I had a traditional, orange pineapple, orange cranberry and a cranberry flavored mimosa. They definitely packed a punched. Great place to go for breakfast or brunch. Family friendly and they offer a discount for GCU students. Loved it!

What looks like a former Denny's with a clay tile roof is a pretty standard breakfast and lunch place. The menu packs meals into combos, so if you're looking for a simple egg and bacon breakfast you purchase items as sides. Our server provided outstanding service. The kitchen also performed well by delivering correct orders quickly. It's a comfortable spot but the hard walls create a loud space once customers start filling seats.

If a really good breakfast place is what you're looking for, this is it! I got the chicken fried steak which was really good. The potatoes are amazing as well!! They not only bake their own biscuits but they also have vanilla creamer!!

Decided to eat here after looking for breakfast places in the area. It did not disappoint. Casual atmosphere, friendly staff. They were busy when we walked in, but we were seated right away. Lots of choices on the menu. We were tight on time and let our server know. She was awesome and got us in and out.

Visiting AZ and had a great brunch experience here after church. Atmosphere: 10/10Old diner feel, same experience as dennys or ihop. Clean and well maintained. Service: 10/10Everything was fairly prompt and everyone was very kind and took great care of patrons. It was very busy so nothing was right away, but still done in a timely manner. I couldn't ask for kinder servers and staff, and servers were very knowledgeable of the menu and very patient with this new comer. Food: 10/10My friend and I enjoyed our fishes immensely. My friend ordered her favorite: biscuits and gravy, which she loved. I ordered: meat lovers and it was so good! Way better than Denny's since the bacon was real (not microwaveable) and everything was cooked to perfection. The meat was of great quality. The "house fries" were hash browns basically, just as the server promised, but was only good after I added salt, pepper and ketchup, to which I inhaled it whole. The mimosas (cranberry and the pineapple orange) were the perfect blend of alcohol to juice and were not overly sweet. The serving size was not enough to say generous but definitely received the worth of the money you spend to order one. Over all I was very pleased I brought my friend here to catch up. Great food, extraordinary service and we had a great time. Will definitely return in the future during another trip to AZ. Ps. I was starving after church so I inhaled my food and didn't take pics no perfect plating, but still comes to your table looking amazing and basically looks the same as the pics on the menu.

Long ago a stranger passing through Black Canyon City stopped at the Biz E Bee Cafe. writing about "...pancakes big as your face...." I steal that line regarding The Cracked Egg. Remember Sambo's? It's a dim memory for me. I remember Fast Eddy's. But never stopped. The Cracked Egg is in the building now.If you like your food fast and restaurant loud and bustling this is your place. It is a restauranteur's dream. We ate at 10 am on a Monday. The house was full. Ashley was our server handling her tables well. She said her job is her gym. But, she gets paid instead of paying out.My lovely wife and I split a Denver omelette plus a side of crispy bacon. Sister had pancakes WAY bigger than her face. We brought 2/3 of her nreakfast home, finishing it today. The Cracked Egg is no Gas Monkey Garage. It is fast and loud with generous portions.

My friend brought over some food today from this restaurant for lunch. I ordered the French dip and fries, she ordered French toast, and my boyfriend ordered a country breakfast. I liked the beef in the French dip but I felt it was lacking the right quantity of meat and cheese. It was decent. I don't think the fries traveled well but they were edible. I think if I ate them fresh they would have been better vs floppy. She enjoyed her French toast, and even took some home with her. The country breakfast was tasty as well, including the biscuits and gravy. I would try the food here again, but probably in person if I'm in the west valley vs delivered.

The Cracked Egg has two dining areas. One has more of an old school diner feel; complete with a counter with seating in front of the window to the kitchen. The other dining area is more of a basic dining room. We were sat across from the counter. Much like a neighborhood diner, there are regulars who sit at the counter. Regulars were having full conversations with servers and the busboy. Phones were brought out to show pictures. There was a real sense of community. Even with their conversations, other tables were taken care of. Large portions. Come hungry or be prepared for leftovers. My son ordered the fajita skillet with chicken. The amount of vegetables and chicken was plentiful. Food was well seasoned. He was offered a choice of bread or tortillas. Being a fajitas skillet, he chose the tortilla. I ordered the signature French toast. The signature French toast is "Three thick slices topped with fresh strawberries, banana slices, pecans, strawberry reduction, powdered sugar, cinnamon, and whipped cream." Order was plentiful. French toast itself was nicely cooked. It was not mushy in the middle or dry. French toast had plenty of toppings. This dish eats more like a dessert. It is coyingly sweet. The Cracked Egg has an extensive menu. All kinds of breakfast foods. There is a strong southwestern and Mexican influence in many of their savory breakfast options. For those who do not like spicy foods, there are all the typical American diner options. Prefer your breakfast sweet? There are multiple different flavors of pancakes, waffles, and French toasts to choose from. Having food ordered and delivered via food delivery apps is popular here. There was a steady stream of people coming in and showing their phones to pick up orders. The kitchen did a fabulous job of having those orders ready before the drivers got there, as well as getting the food out quickly for those dining in. The kitchen had impeccable timing. The Cracked Egg is a little far for us to dine at regularly. We chose it because it showed up on the map as being on the way to a hiking spot we wanted to check out. That being said, I do look forward to eating here again. There are many savory options I wish to try. This is a spot I look forward to returning to, and sharing this restaurant with the rest of the family.

I came here on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. The service was slooooow... it was fairly busy and parking was a bit difficult. We ended up parking in the nearby CVS lot. It is a nice, pleasant restaurant though. This place is pretty good. My server was pleasant and personable. I don't think she was the reason for the slow service as, she seemed efficient. The coffee was good and so was my breakfast. I think I'm gonna give this place a second chance and hope the service is a little quicker.

Don't be hesitant, as I was because of the pizza hut looking building. Inside the place is spotless and the service was great. The menu is huge and I had trouble deciding being my first time here. Decided on the breakfast tacos (gfree) with homemade chorizo and scrambled eggs. They were delicious.I'll look forward to the next time in the area.
