I love supporting small businesses and I do love my fried chicken. My family ordered from here and got it to go. Usually takes around 25 minutes. We orderedDark meat (hell yeah) fried chicken meal and it comes with two large sides (we chose onion rings and mashed potatoes). A small order of coleslaw, some biscuits, small order of fried okra. If you want some hot sauce on the side, let them know!Upon opening, everything looked amazing! The fried chicken was really crispy and not heavily battered or anything like that. I wished that the chicken was a bit more flavorful instead of having to rely on ketchup and hot sauce. It didn't have enough salt to it. The okra piqued my interest because I haven't had fried okra before. Definitely different. Not sure if I would get it again. Lightly crispy on the outside and the usual mild grassy flavor with the stretchy sticky stuff. Biscuit was fluffy and not dry. I totally lathered that with butter and honey because that's how you do it! Onion rings were the right amount of crispy. Good sized and portion to share with the family. The little one kept asking for more and loves it. Cole slaw was good, had the crunch, the creamy, slight tang to it. Mashed potatoes tastes all right. Gravy was delicious and savory, slight richness to it.I would come back to check out this place again but will asked for more spices or something for the chicken. A bit plain for me but I've had chicken from here before a couple times and each time it was bomb. Maybe just a slight off day today.

The Chicken Shop is an unassuming restaurant in a strip mall next to Mary's Donuts and DaBoba. There are arcade games to play while you wait and tables to dine in if you choose. They fry everything made to order, so either call in your order or expect to wait 10-20 minutes depending on what you get. I ordered the 2-piece dark with a side of fried okra. I haven't had okra in years and it was so crisp on the outside and tender inside. The chicken itself had a nice thin coating and fried perfectly. I thought the seasoning was good, just the right amount of salt and tender. I'm not one to order dipping sauces and am a purist when it comes to fried chicken. I'll head back the next time I'm craving some delicious fried chicken.

Picked up to go 4:30 pm on a Sunday. It was empty! No customers there. But the lady that ran the register was very nice with taking our order. Nothing amazingly awesome about the restaurant so maybe everyone just picks up like us?15 piece dark, family size, 8 piece fried oysters and fried giblets. Was told order takes about 20 mins and they were right. Took about 20 mins.The fried chicken had a crust texture similar to Popeyes. Great crunch even though we ate it an hour later. Flavor was ok. Nothing special to mention, seasoned well but very simple and basic.Giblets and liver was good texture too. But again, seasoned well but nothing special.Oysters were great! Tasted fresh, fried well. Nice fried coating. Was just missing lemons, we ran out at home too, but that would have made it awesome.Overall, seasoning could have been more, maybe some more spices, something to give it a kick, an umph,,,something. The hot sauce on the side that came with our order was not enough of a flavor add.We will most likely come back but will be prepared with some homemade Canes sauce or something to go with it.

Looking for a good place for lunch we discovered this restaurant on a maps app. Young lady at the register was very friendly and professional. Chicken and gizzards were tasty! The restaurant was very hot and no AC. The restrooms can use a deep cleaning. The off brand soda dispenser was a bit of a disappointment. Over all food and service were good.

Dined in. Got offered ranch, ketchup and hot sauce. Little arcade games in the corner, there's a fish tank near the back by the bathroom. Simple decor, nothing extravagant! Got the catfish nuggets plate + 3 piece dark combo. The fries and onion rings were normal (can't go wrong!). The coleslaw and Mac and cheese could have been better. -1 star for that. The breading on the chicken was crispy and light, the breading on the catfish nuggets were good. The total came out to like $27 tho and I felt like it was really steep for what we ate. I just felt like we could've eaten another entree, was definitely not enough food. This place is a solid 3.5 out of 5. It's not terrible but I wouldn't come back for chicken!

Leave politics out of your business. I stopped going here due to them blatantly bashing the current President on their website. It now creates a hostile environment and unwelcoming environment. And honesty the food is average. You don't get much for what you pay for and I often felt the corn bread was bland but to each their own. And they have their child often behind the counter and I observed them touching stuff which I felt is unhygienic.

The chicken shop was amazing! Super friendly owner with great food, awesome value and proportions. They even have a variety of video game consoles with thousands of possible classic games to play. I'll definitely be returning!

Dinner tonight was another hit out of the park!The catfish nuggets were hotter (temperature-wise) than the sun, even though my husband drove them from Santee to our home in Lemon Grove. Perfect texture... almost as if they arrived from a fishing trip. The livers were cooked just right, again! My mom got a full 3-piece chicken dinner and ate almost all of it - she said that, "it was just too good for words." My hubby enjoyed the popcorn chicken this time around; he liked it too.I promise I will try something different next time, although it's hard to change from yumminess you enjoy every time!

Good food!!! Their chicken is crunchy and really juicy.100% recommend the fried chicken!
