Well, I know this restaurant has been around for decades. It's my first visit here was on a Saturday night this summer with a group of out-of-town friends and also some local friends. Luckily, I made reservations ahead of time and when we got there, it was completely packed, including the bar, and there is a very tiny, pathetic sitting waiting area that also was very crowded.Upstairs are also private party rooms, which by the way were also packed because that's where the restrooms are located.Once everybody got there and we started ordering, we actually had a shift and changed of servers. The first server and the second server, although very kind and nice were very difficult to locate and find anywhere on the restaurant floor. We ended up trying to speak to anybody who could try to help us whether that was because we were ready to take an order we were needing some condiments. We needed refills, whatever it happened to be. Restaurant at this price point I think finding your server should not be part of the dining experience.Food portions overall are decent and expect prices to be on the higher end considering this little niche space of the city that has been heavily gentrified. The menu is very classically steakhouse with some great seafood options as well. The fish and chips were absolutely incredible and such a pleasant surprise, my friend who ordered steaks all thoroughly enjoyed their steaks and finish everything on their plates. The music is so incredibly obnoxiously loud that we spent the entire night, screaming, and yelling at each other just to understand each other. Valet parking is very cheap so no complaints there This is definitely a staple, and I understand why it's been around for so long and the food is absolutely traditional and classic, which is very enjoyable for a wide variety of taste and palettes.

Inside an old firehouse this restaurant was very beautiful inside, High ceilings and tile walls. The food was outstanding, the salmon was delicious I'd definitely recommend that. The firecracker shrimp was good too, the ricotta knots were good but I'd pass on those next time. The bread they give you that's complementary is far superior to the ricotta knots. So I'd order the firecracker shrimp as an app, then go salmon for entree. The server I had was very friendly and very professional I couldn't ask for more.

This local steakhouse has great vibes and delicious filet mignon. The sides are not their strong suit, the portions can be a little bit overwhelming However, I have liked the salads and the dessert. Their dessert options are excellent and everything I have ever tried is good. I have been there several times at this point.

My parents arrived today from Mississippi, and I wanted to treat them to a great meal. Choosing Chicago Firehouse was the best decision we could've made. From the moment we arrived, the whole staff took great care of us and was very hospitable. We were seated swiftly and opted for the bar area instead of the dining room. The only downside was the rather loud music in that area, and we could hear the effects of the sound system from where the live music occurs in another part of the restaurant. This was my second visit and my parents' first, so it took us a while to decide on what we wanted. Our waiter, Alex, was very patient and explained a lot of the menu items. I always appreciate when staff are knowledgeable about the menu. His recommendations were spot on, as everything we tried was fantastic. The manager, Shannon, even came over and chatted with us. She took the time to get to know our table and seemed genuinely interested in our conversation, especially when I mentioned my family was from Mississippi. She also shared the history of the building (it's a Chicago landmark) and provided tidbits about menu inspirations, like the pie being the chef's grandmother's recipe! We opted for the seafood dishes--seabass, mahi-mahi (catch of the day), and lobster--as well as mac and cheese, onion rings, and fried calamari. Everything was delicious. THE BREAD is DIVINE!!! We ordered the carrot cake for dessert, and Shannon treated us to that and buttermilk pie because of our ties to its southern roots.Overall, it was a 10/10 experience and well worth the prices!

Had a mean taste for a good steak and fun happy hour so of course I went to Chicago Firehouse! The first ribeye arrived overdone but they immediately replaced it with the medium that I originally asked for, plus look at the thick perfectly cooked & seasoned asparagus side! Topped with a very chilled glass of Chardonnay equals dining solo bliss! Well trained bartenders like Kyle, Eric, José and Mike, and hosts/hostesses make you feel at home with they're attentiveness and friendly rapport. Top notch local go-to.

The food was so good. My beverages were the Caribbean winter, Brassfield Sauvignon Blanc, and Paso Robles Cab. I enjoyed the 3 course Sunday Supper which consisted of a soup or salad, entree, and dessert. The French onion soup, BBQ platter, and apple pie a la mode were all great choices. The wait staff were prompt and informative about the menu and beverage offerings. There was a fiddle player and band there which was cozy for a chilly Sunday evening. I valet parked, the sign said $15 but the man charged us $18.

My friend and I walked in on a Tuesday evening to a packed restaurant. Little did i expect our neighborhood steakhouse will be so packed on a Tuesday evening. We snagged the last unreserved table and were quite lucky. Matty our server was polite and attentive, we had coffee, tea , lobster bisque , firecracker shrimpAnd salmon. Everything was good except the lobster bisque was a little underwhelming. Glad to see the steady flow of people @ the restaurant. Will be back for sure!

Got takeout and was surprisingly impressed. Must GetFilet - 5/5. My wife loved. Perfectly cooked and seasoned.French Onion Soup - 4.5/5. Complex flavor. Tad salty. Get AgainCarrot cake - 4/5. Cream cheese frosting. Good cake base and nuts for texture. Comes with a sugar sauce that's not necessary.Broccolini - 4/5. Well baked on the burnt side. Kick from the chili. OKPotato Gratin - 3.5/5. Good cheese to potato ratio. Gets less interesting after a few bites.Salmon - 3.5/5. Tasty broth. The veggies were undercooked, resulting in a hard texture. The fish was OK but hard to justify the price.Chocolate cake - 3/5. Good cake but too little frosting.

The firehouse happy hour is one of my favorite in the city. You can't beat the espresso and dirty martini and the wine is always a great choice. The staff and management are always friendly with attentive service. I recommend it for happy hour or dinner service.
