This is likely the best restaurant in Nashville and it does try its best. Was good but not comparable to restaurants in bigger cities. Apparently it's an incubator of chefs for the city and I can see that as this restaurant does have the atmosphere of reaching for the top tier. It probably has achieved that in Nashville. That being said there was nothing really spectacular. Dishes were generally ok to good. When they present food they will present to each individual group. However they sometimes present at the same time and end up talking over each other. They should work on spacing out the timing as it's hard to hear the presentation. Wine pairing was mediocre. Nothing stood out.

My second review of The Catbird Seat with Chef Brian Baxter at the helm. Consistency is one of the Michelin guide's tenets and this visit confirmed that for me. Every single course was on point, satisfying the palate with unique, delicious flavors that highlight Chef Baxter's background. Chef Baxter and his crew, who are incredibly humble, serve all the dishes and take the time to talk with guests, adding a wonderful personal touch. There is also something special about the ambiance and aesthetic of the restaurant. I hope the new location will match this. I will be looking forward to what the next chapter brings for both Chef Baxter and The Catbird Seat.

The price is worth the seat. Food is out of this world and curated by amazing chefs. Service is attentive and on point making sure you are receiving the highest experiencing. The Catbird is the best fine dining in Nashville. You won't find this experience many other places in Nashville. You need to go to Chicago or NYC to find service, attention detail, and ambience as well as Catbird does it.

I loved everything about my experience dining at Catbird Seat. It was a very intimate setting. The food was amazing! Every single course. Each dish, is prepared in front of you and served with care. It's a really sexy experience. The service was spot on to the level of service one might receive when dining abroad. This gastronomic explosion gives me Michelin star vibes and I love it! Can't wait to dine again in the future.

This is the tasting menu restaurant of Nashville. A must visit for any self respecting lover in the art of food. We had some hits and misses on our visit both with the food and wine. I thought the wine pairings were lackluster and uninspired. For me this was the most disappointing part of the visit. The food was overall good; some dishes better than others with the desserts surprisingly excellent. The staff was friendly but not overly attentive. The head chef was out the day we were visiting so maybe they were just extra focused on their tasks. Overall we enjoyed our visit and would comeback.

Fancy place for fancy people. We saw that this is a great experience to have once in our lifetime, so we decided to do it. It is on the pricy side, and the bites you get are one bit wonders. Each menu is prepared different by the chef, so going one day will be different from other days. If you opt in for the drink pairing, they go really well and compliment each bite. That of course is an additional cost. Don't expect to come here and not spend a lot cause it's not the place for that. Everything was great, the ambiance was wonderful. Each dish was very delicious. The only complaint I had was how loud the music was. I could barely hear the chef telling us what each plate was.

Hi, I'm Victoria and I'm *that* bitch who went to Catbird Seat. The food is inventive, albeit in small portions (but fancy people only eat bites of meals, right? RIGHT?)Anyways, it's a great place to check out once to say you did it...definitely grab cocktails at Patterson House downstairs beforehand, and that's it. I won't spoil it for anyone else that wants to check it out.The chefs are artists, and they change the menu constantly. Go, go on. Your wallet will hate you...but just shhhhhhh.

This is a Nashville experience. Not NY, Chicago, San Fran or one of the other legitimate major cities. The prices are exuberant. You can't charge $600 a couple for this type of experience and expect experienced diners to ever return.I'm certain that Green Hills and Lockeland folk find this place extraordinary, but it's simply put. Not.Side note: why does everyone attempt to serve bear Creek beef cooked rare? TN Beef chews like gum everywhere I've had it.

We had a great time. The staff and chefs were so friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the food and they were very accommodating. We learned a lot and it was a great experience. The sister restaurant downstairs for drinks was also great. The staff will go grab drinks from there if you don't want the wine pairing. The bathroom is amazing

CatBirdSeat had been on my list for quite some time so I was super excited when I was able to score a reservation for 1. Unfortunately, when you try to book via Tock, it does not allow you to select for 1 person, so I called and left a voicemail and within 2 days I received a phone call whereby my reservation was then processed. Thanks Aaron!Prior to your arrival, they contact you regarding any food allergies and while I do not have any allergies per se, I have not consumed red meat or pork in over 20+ years, so it is safe to assume, an allergy has probably developed. Nonetheless, CBS accommodated me and I was very appreciative. When you arrive, there is not a sign for CatBirdSeat, so you check in at the podium located inside The Patterson House, which looks super cool and is on my list for my next visit! When they are ready for you, the hostess will walk you back outside, into a side door and up the elevator to the 2nd floor where all of the seats are placed around the chef's counter. Besides the chef's counter, the only other seating is a cute leather banquette situated in a corner that is reserved for a party of 4. As soon as I was seated, I knew I was in for a spectacular evening as the music was pumping with a good mix of 70's-90's music at a perfect decibel and it made for a fun evening. As I bopped my head to the beats, I was presented with a welcome tea and almost immediately, the service began. Every single dish was presented in creative serving bowls and plates and the delivery and presentation of each dish was delivered with aplomb. While every dish was simply delicious, I particularly enjoyed the sweet potato fish with matcha and I am not normally a fan of matcha. The shrimp and grits with truffles was served in a huge warm bowl and I wanted to lay my face on the bowl, it felt so good! The staff was excellent and attentive and I cannot wait to come back as the menu changes often depending on what fresh and local ingredients are available.
