I have never had a bad experience here. It seems like they remodeled it recently and it looks great, it's under new management probably. The service is great even during busy times. We come here for the cocktails but always end up getting food and it's always been great, fresh and tasty.

We ate breakfast and dinner at this cafe in the casino. Both times, the servers Kim and Pamela were awesome. I appreciated the customer service and delicious food. We definitely look forward to eating there again. My overall score is 4 stars . Keep up the great work .

Never been to the cafe. Not sure we will be back. It's nestled in the old buffet area. It's been confirmed it's not coming back. Our server was very nice. Best part of the meal. Her name was La Chaix. She was very warm and inviting. I ordered the Reuben with a side salad. My wife ordered the Chicken Alfredo. We never ever have returned food. We almost did today. What was funny as we were talking on how bad the food was. The table next to us returned their seafood dish. My wife's chicken Alfredo was very bland. Absolutely no flavor. She never salts her food but added salt and hot sauce to give it some flavor. It was still very bad. For $17 we expected more. My side salad was the best part of the meal. My Reuben tasted funny after finishing one half I noticed there was no Russian or thousand island dressing. How can you make a Reuben without one? The sangrias were very nice. Not a bad price either at $10. The meal with drinks and discount was under $50 which is not bad but the food was horrific. Worst we've ever had in a casino. Gave the Two stars for the excellent service and drinks

After a night of revelry we needed something to absorb the poison spawned from our poor decisions. Breakfast at the The Cafe seemed to offer just the remedy. Besides, it was basically the only restaurant open at Viejas at 10:30 on a Sunday morning. We walked up to the host(ess) stand and were immediately led to a table. We asked if we could be seated by the window but were told that the server for those tables was on break, so she couldn't seat us in that section. There were a number of people already seated in that section so I'm not sure what that was about. Seems we could've perused the menu until the server was back from break, but whatever. We were seated at a table on the polar opposite side of the room as the windows. About as far away from a window as possible. LOL. Liz approached and introduced herself as our server. She was very pleasant and cheery. We knew what we wanted so Liz took our orders. I ordered the Corned Beef Hash with a cup of coffee and Becky had the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs with a Bloody Mary. Liz brought water to the table. Both glasses contained a lemon wedge. Servers at The Cafe should make a habit of asking diners if they want lemon. I am allergic. Wasted glass of water. Corned Beef Hash: Two eggs any style, served with choice of toast, blueberry muffin or fruit. I opted for sourdough toast. The last time Becky and I had breakfast at the Cafe was 2019. I had the corned beef hash that day too and wasn't thrilled. It was better this time around. Not too salty and the over easy eggs were perfect. The hash could've and should've been crisped up on the flat top more. I like it to have that crispy edge and those little crispy bits. Better than last time, but still room for improvement.Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs: Country gravy, home fries, choice of toast, blueberry muffin or fruit. Bex too opted for sourdough toast. This was really good. Becky really liked it as did I. The steak was not overly breaded and it was cooked to great medium temp. Not tough or chewy which seems to be common with chicken fried steak. The gravy was lacking in pepper. Country gravy needs to have that peppery flavor, a lot of places miss the mark on that which was the case here. Judging by the amount of pepper remaining in the shaker on the table, I wasn't the first person to think this way. Once properly peppered with the remaining pepper in the shaker, the gravy was quite good. The home fries were the star of this show. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, nicely seasoned.Becky loved her Bloody Mary and my coffee was good. Black coffee served hot. Can't really ask for much more and Liz saw to it that my cup was never empty. The Cafe is located in the room that used to house the buffet. A very large, open room with many, many tables. The buffet counters are still at the end of the room with "Employees Only Beyond This Point" signs in front of them. I figured they are not quite finished remodeling yet, or it is a temporary home for The Cafe.Prices were reaasonable. $41.50 before tax and tip and that included an $11 Bloody Mary.Excellent service from Liz. And for the most part, pretty damn good food. 3.5 stars, edging toward 4.

Since the buffet has been taken away by Covid I've seen the changes that had to be made. That doesn't stop me from coming when I crave steak and eggs. Sometimes I get the hash browns and sometimes the fries. That differs from time to time. I also switch between sourdough bread pancakes and muffins. No matter which way my hunger pangs go this meal is always yum. The Philly Steak and the artichoke dip are also a top pick for me.Mel MYelp 21:38

We waited 40 minutes for our drinks, and after we asked about them 5 times. We should've gotten drinks ourselves at the bar and brought them in. We didn't realize it would be such a big issue. It was very frustrating. Our food came before our drinks- a long time before our drinks! We had to call the manager John over. He was not apologetic, but made excuses. The food was good, though. And we FINALLY got our drinks. My Irish Coffee was great, but for some reason they put salt in my friend's whiskey soda.

Great breakfast! Was greeted and seated nicely and quickly. I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs; came with house potatoes and a croissant. When it arrived I was a little unsure if I'd like it since it was served in layers (one big pile, other than the croissant which was on a separate plate with butter and strawberry jam); bottom later was gravy, topped by house potatoes, topped by chicken fried steak, and finally topped with a pan-shaped scrambled eggs. After cutting into the pile and trying my first bite, I was pleasantly surprised! The chicken fried steak was flavorful and crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. The house potatoes tasted surprisingly light (airy); they were cooked perfectly with the right amount of crisp on the outside and fluffy soft inside. The eggs and gravy were good too. On to the croissant; baked fresh and served warm, this was buttery delicious! The side of soft butter and cute little strawberry jam jar were a welcome add. The coffee was a little stronger than I usually prefer, but still good. The host who seated us also followed up at the right times (not too often and not "not enogh", thanks Goldilocks
