The owner D. was running the front and was very welcoming and provided excellent service.  I ordered a burger with bacon, lettuce, and tomato.  Bun was fluffy with a nice mild flavor.  2 burger patties were thin and had a crispy outer layer.  Beef had a delicious beefy flavor and was perfectly seasoned.  Bacon was crunchy and had a tasty salty and smoky flavor.  Lettuce and tomato were crisp and fresh.  Great tasting burger.  Reminds me of Eat Crispy Burger which I love.Fries were hand cut and fried in high quality oil as there was a delicious fried potato flavor with no aftertaste.  Onion rings were crunchy and had a delicious onion flavor.2nd visit was on a Sunday when they offer $1 wings and $4 beer.  Bbq wings had crunchy batter and coated with bbq sauce.  Bbq sauce was sweet and tangy with a light smoky flavor.  Pretty good.Salt and pepper wings had a crunchy batter while the wings were tender and juicy.  Lightly seasoned with salt and pepper these are my favorite wing here.Young lady running things was nice and provided excellent service.

If you are over the chains and just want a great burger, are you in luck. The talent behind Pizza Joint and Stars & Stripes Taco Shop bring you a delicious, upscale burger, ALL the starch options {fries, rings, and TOTS}, milk shakes, Pepsi products, and several beers on tap. Great location, in the corner of the same shopping center as Pizza Joint - completely open-air with tables and a bar. Great setup for evening burgers and beers. I enjoyed the California burger and the tots were perfect. Also tried a chocolate shake, which was good. Tip if you prefer a "plain" shake, these are the more contemporary "fully involved " style with extra sauce and sprinkles. I enjoyed it, but if you want your shake plain old fashioned, be sure to order it that way. The decor and little details in are great. Here is to another great, non-chain San Diego burger joint.

Did I go to the same burger place as the rest of these reviewers?Perfectly seasoned patties? Juicy burgers? Best burger? Huh?We tried the joint burger, the stars & stripes burger, the joint fries, and onion rings. Do not be deceived by the angle of the photos I took, they were smaller than the pictures.Don't bother getting a burger if you only get one patty. These are smash burger style so the patties are THIN. You will be lucky to get a hint of the patty flavor as it is completely covered by the thick buns.I got double patties on my joint burger, and I was just dissapointed by it all. The sizing, the flavor, how for $12 it doesn't include lettuce and tomatoes. Just look at the pictures, I don't know how they managed to do it, but it tastes even drier than it looks. The joint fries were $8, and it was small. It was insulting how small the portions were. It was smaller than the size of my hand and I'm a small dude.Onion rings were the only redeeming thing, everything else was just a dissapointment.We paid $40 for this meal. $10 for one of the thinnest patty burger that I could barely taste, and $12 for a mediocre double patty joint burger. The smallest portion fries I've ever had for $8. And onion rings for $6. ($1 per onion ring by the way). I went home to eat a real dinner afterwards. I haven't regretted trying a new restaurant in so long, but they did a good job to dissapoint.I'm done trying new burger places. I'm just going to stick with in n out.

Super Great Service. The owner was so kind to seat our party of 55 people (Girls Soccer team). We were able to get our orders in ahead of time and they were super organized. Definitely recommend this place!

We've been eating at their sister restaurant the Pizza Joint for many years. We've been watching the burger joint being built for the past few months and we were very excited to try it. It did not disappoint one of the best smash burgers I've ever had in my entire life, the fries were unbelievable. This is a must go to spot.

We came here after being a huge fan of the owners other restaurant "the pizza joint" in which we always have an amazing experience in. The owner goes above and beyond for his customers and truly deserves every cent. The burgers were soooo good and juicy, but my favorites were the chicken strips and freshly cut fries. The food is cooked in avocado oil which just adds to the quality. You will not be disappointed here. And to the best part of it all, it's HALAL! Also love the open concept style of the restaurant. Wishing them the upmost success to their businesses!

Great food, atmosphere, and customer service!! It's definitely worth the visit. Had the crispy chicken and it was delicious!!

Great tasting burgers are something the Mira Mesa/Miramar area has been lackluster and this place hits that niche. Little on the pricier side however everything is quality food made with care. Offers a wide variety of craft beverages that I have yet to try, but the Tres Les Cake Shake is absolutely great!
