The Budlong Southern Chicken

Staff is not friendly (clearly the hate their job), slow service ( expect a line ). Taking a star for that. Price on the high side but what ticked me off that they charge 3 dollar to use chicken breast in the sandwich!!!! Kinda a clear ripoff in my opinion. Taking a star for that.The fries are mehhh. They were cold and bland. They remind me of the frozen fries you buy in the store in bags.Finally, the chicken sandwich is insanely good. Go there if you are willing to tolerate the above and get the sandwich... factor the chicken breast in the price.

Flavor on point!! Try the og chicken sandwich you choose your chicken either breast or thigh meat. The piece is the entire breast or thigh flattened and breaded. Much larger than the bun and a great value. Dont forget to order a side or two, the spicy potato salad has a paprika kick but very good. Service is friendly and orders come out fast. This is located in the urban space food hall minutes from shopping.

Take out onlyFood was good and the price was great- the comeback sauce is a spicy special sauce and it was delicious. I love crinkle cut fries and you get a lot for the price. I wanted to try the Mac and cheese but it was left out of my order so I sadly cannot comment. I am curious to try the tenders and popcorn chicken next time, looked good! Chicken was of a good size and tender. Overall would eat again but not replacing my go to Nashville hot chicken spot in Chicago.

A new food "hall" and it has a Budlong Hot Chicken? YES! A great little location serving up their delicious food from a friendly staff.They have a small menu, but everything sounds great. I went with The Southern (as I'm a sucker for Pimento Cheese!), served in Nashville Hot sauce, a side of fries, and a root beer. The chicken was fantastic! The flavor was pretty spicy but it was absolutely perfect for me. And the portion size is pretty decent. Sure, prices are higher than I'd like but this is not a run-of-the-mill spot so I can stomach the upcharge.Most importantly, they chicken was ready FAST. It was literally just a few minutes from standing in line to eating, and that's great during a weekday lunch time. And on top of that I got to pick breast or thigh meat - bonus!While I usually don't stray this far east for lunch very often I will certainly remember that this place. If you've never had it, give it a try!

I use to love Budlongs - now it's hot garbage. We ordered 4 tenders and fries - the tenders were over cooked to the point you couldn't eat them. They were dry and looked like they had been sitting in a warmer all day. Also the tenders use to be ALOT bigger than what we received - now they look like Burger King's or any fast food joint. Keep it moving and dont waste your time or money here! Never again will I order from here!

I ordered the original Budlong sandwich. It was nice being able to choose between breast or thigh meat. Admittedly, I had not heard of Budlong before entering the food court. The service was friendly. I was happy with my choice, the meal was good and filling. I would definitely recommend.

Love love love this food. Always fresh, always delicious, and feels very homemade, not greasy at all. Only thing is that the people working the register always seem really pissed off. Ambiance is normal.

The sandwiches used to be GREAT AND AMAZING. But it seems that they have changed their recipe lately. A little disappointed.

Awesome burgers & chicken sandwiches. Great innovative and tasty toppings, generous serving sizes. Must try the happy hour too!
