That smoked boudin is better than any I've ever tasted. You have to find Bookity, but he's definitely worth tracking down. He provides samples before you buy so that you are happy with your purchase.

Came here on a Sunday night, busy street in front of a bunch of clubs. They had no line, no customers, all their permits were dirty and ripped on the window, but I still decided to try their boudain giving them the benefit of the doubt. The lady asked as which one without giving us options and when we asked what kind did they have we chose the beef. There was a man in the food truck standing there so I asked which meat was better in the boudain and he said the chicken was better so I told her never mind if I could change it and she said "are you freakin kidding me" it literally took her two second to turn around and put it in the to go box. The boudain came with some crackers and it was horrible! Very dried and it tasted like propane gas. The food was not fresh and it was probably sitting there for a long time.Bad food and bad customer service. Definitely not worth the $8.00 I spent.

I appreciate small businesses and always like to see them succeed but in this case I got bookity bookity ripped off!It was late night and I was going to order the 2 meat plate ($15) with sausage and brisket but I wanted to try the boudain too so I went for the 3 meat plate at $20 which is on the higher end of what one would pay at a well known barbecue spot but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt.I get handed a greasy box which I open to find an unrecognizable mass of chunks doused in sauce, which I figure is no big deal since I didn't say "no sauce".But wait...what are these two little empty spots? The menu board stated that plates came with sides. Shouldn't my beans and potato salad go there?I'm told "we ain't got none, here have some bread" as I get a stale heal piece of bread placed in my box. When I got home and tried to eat this fine example of down home Texas barbecue artistry I discovered that my brisket was extremely tough, my sausage was dry and so over cooked that it got crumbly and that my Bookity Bookity Boudain was a skinny piece from the end that was less than 2 inches long and was also overcooked and so dry that I had to crack into the skin to get into what was just meatless riceHouston has so many better options for late night grub, avoid these guys at all costs

This barbecue trailer is one of the best in Texas. The cook really knows his stuff. Any and everything from deer sausage to chicken Boudin, I can promise you that the meat will be smoked to perfection with a bite. I'm absolutely going to see the Boudin man again.

My favorite boudain! The skin is always crispy and the rice is full of flavor. I'll travel for this!

The owner was telling us to try a sample and boy it was so good. He convinced my ex boyfriend at the time to buy some and I was really happy he did. The set up may not be the cleanliest of all and he may seem a bit aggressive but I haven't had a tastier boudain since that time. Boudain man sets up shop anywhere-in his case, a Walmart parking lot. I ran into him again at UH and bought another one two years ago. If I run into him again, I would definitely buy more!

The food was not that good to have spent $30 on a plate and the boudin wasn't worth the money either.

Given my tendencies as someone who loves local eats in street food fashion, I was immediately drawn to the smoke at Bookity's BBQ setup (#1). He's a local legend with a love for boudain and can be found in different parts of town showcasing his fare. Pillowing smoke, random people standing around, and meats galore? This is 100% my kind of scene. The Boudain Man is a friendly guy and hails from Louisiana. He's bantering with the customers usually and is in no hurry to usher his orders through. Waiting is just part of the game and asking for boudin samples is important for knowing what to order. He'll offer his recommendations, but I think the taste test is the key. When the boudain is fresh, it's as smokey and as flavorful as any. However, a number of the links I received were a little burnt and overcooked, but still manageable and supplementing them with crackers is helpful. The ribs, beef, and other meats were a bit too dry and heavily charred for my liking. I was also a little underwhelmed with the beans and potato salad for my sides. I'd stick exclusively to boudain in the future. It might look like a cash only situation, but he definitely takes credit cards and cash apps. Like all things with meat, the prices have jumped significantly over the years. The $30 three meat plate is spendy for sure and the $15 turkey leg might as well be sold at Rodeo.Since the location will vary from evening to evening, peep their social media (@bbboudainman) to see where they're posted up. ___________(#1) In a Kroger's parking lot no less.

Got some brisket and two types of boudain. Great dinner and breakfast. Chef Gil is an interesting character. In Houston, at Kroger's, across from Smash Burger, Thurs-Sat. Try it, you'll like it!
