The reviews for The Beacon are a little harsh. I came here on a Saturday for "brunch" with my BF and 3 month old. We purchased the "Savor the Skyline" special found on Open Table and had an amazing time. First, this place is pricey ... especially since it requires you to purchase tix to The View. I would recommend purchasing a special package like we did, which included certain meals and tix to The View. Much more affordable. Not something that you'd want to do all of the time, but it was nice for a special outing. Like ... we totally made an afternoon out of it and pretended to be tourists in our city. Second, the service was really great! Honestly, I was surprised. I thought they would be rude and judging us a little for bringing our baby, but they were so friendly and extremely accommodating. We had our inconvenient stroller with us, and they placed us at a table that allowed us to keep it near. Definitely appreciate that. The bathrooms are also sooooo nice and even had the baby changing thing. You'd be surprised at how many places do not have that.Third ... the food. I was expecting the food to be underwhelming and extremely gimmicky, but in all actuality ... it was really good. It's no 5 start fine dining restaurant, but it was really tasty and I'd definitely go back. Without the "Savor the Skyline" special, I do think the food is extremely overpriced, but with the special ... it's not too bad. I hope they never get rid of these specials cuz it really is a nice idea. Lastly ... we really enjoyed this restaurant and then being able to visit The View after. Kind of sad that you have to pay for the views and it's no longer Top of the Hub, but that being said ... they did make into a really nice exhibit. I love the outside area too. Cannot recommend trying this place enough!!!

I finally got the chance to visit and experience View Boston , a stunning 360° glimpse into the city from atop the prudential. The discovery tools offered an educational journey, enhancing my late-night view from above with fascinating insights about Boston .One highlight of my visit was dining at the Beacon Restaurant on the 51st floor . With 33 miles of breathtaking views, a cozy window-facing bar, and a menu of seasonal delights, the ambiance was unmatched. I very much enjoyed their "Seven Sunsets In Southie" cocktail drink which had Lillet rose, lychee, orange blossom and sparkling rosé 9/10. For those who like stronger liquor I suggest the Allston Christmas which had coconut fat-washed bourbon, cherry heering and angostura bitters! The charcuterie board, a delightful mix of meats and cheeses, especially the truffle cheese and sopressata, was a perfect start . The fig and prosciutto flatbread, topped with goat cheese, fig jam, arugula, and lemon oil, was shareable and scrumptious, easily an 8/10 .The smash burger, though thicker than expected, was juicy and flavorful, earning an 8/10 . My friend's New England Lobster Roll, with light mayo on a toasted bun, was reportedly a 9/10 from her side . Dessert was a unique take on beignets, less traditional but the chocolate and caramel sauce made for a sweet ending, 7/10 .Visiting View Boston is a must for anyone wanting to dive deeper into the city's beauty, complemented by an exquisite meal with a view . Though the experience doesn't come cheap, the food quality, ambiance, and panoramic city views make it a worthwhile splurge. Ratings:Food: 8/10 Affordability: 4/10 Ambiance: 9/10 (Potentially a perfect 10/10 during daylight!)A dinner at Beacon, combined with the unforgettable cityscape, creates the ideal backdrop for an evening or day out. They also offer food-and-view combo tickets online here: https://viewboston.com/thebeacon/ for a comprehensive and budget-friendly experience

Great value for the opentable lunch experience. We paid $47 pp for access to the view and a lunch with a non-alcoholic drink and appetizer per person included. The lobster roll was solid, mobster could've been fresher but was cooked perfectly. The wait staff was exceptional and the view, even on a gray day, was fantastic. The lunch special made the meal feel appropriately priced, but I can understand how those who paid full price might have felt the quality didn't meet expectations. 1. Burratta caprese - 4/52. Lobster roll - 4/53. Burger - 3/54. Bignettes - 4/5

We were visiting Boston from San Francisco. We purchased the Savor the Skyline package for our party of 10. The package included admission to The View, a non-alcoholic beverage and one of the following: appetizer, salad or sandwich. Our waitress, Roberta, was friendly. However, the service was a bit slow. It took a while to get our drinks and food. The ambience was great; beautiful view.

I really enjoyed my dinner at the beacon. I did the dinner package and it was perfect for a special occasion / celebration. The restaurant is beautiful with crazy good views and incredible service. For food - The appetizer I got was pretty rough (Caesar salad) so I wouldn't recommend that choice. My entree was the lobster roll which was pretty yummy. The preparation options were either warm with butter or cold with mayo. I'm not sure why cold with butter wasn't an option. My dessert was the sorbet and it was incredible! For drinks - my 2 cocktails were also incredible. I got the strawberry lemonade drip martini and the pru-tini. It's hard to pick a favorite because both were so good!Overall I think the dinner package at the beacon was worth it.

The View is amazing but just like previous restaurant, they focus to much on that. And not enough on cleanliness. Also the management is poor, the bartender was getting slammed. And the manger just stood there. The management needs to support the staff, they want tourists bucks but not ready to receive. Let alone help with clean the bar or tables. People were waiting and there was a lot of tables that needed to be bussed. Luckily this is Back Bay and there are plenty of restaurants.

I made a reservation last minute on open table and I wasn't disappointed. You have to make reservations and pay $35 plus taxes and 18%. This Included experiencing the views ( go early) , a choice of a handheld, sharable or salad for your meal and non alcoholic drink. I must say, it was totally well worth it. Tyler was my server and she was kind, friendly and attentive. I chose the NEW ENGLAND LOBSTER ROLL I also chose the warm option, toasted split top bun. At the end my bill was $0 and the tip ( 18%) was already included in my reservation for her. Highly recommend the experience!!!

Fantastic waitstaff at the bar. Beautiful views of MIT too. The food is fresh and the guilt free GF was healthy. Loved the quinoa, chicken and beans. The halibut was fresh and looked delicious. I will return.

The food was ok but the menu is fairly limited. The service was quite mediocre for the price with a poorly trained staff.

BIGGEST SCAM OF THE CITY!! AVOID AT ALL COST!!I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, ignored all the bad reviews and made a reservation for the restaurant. NOWHERE in the reservation section does it say that you MUST buy an entrance ticket ($30 p/p) even if you are just there to eat at the restaurant. I have friends in town and we were ready to spend whatever $ to eat at the restaurant.I do not appreciate that they force you to buy tickets even though you will be spending more money at the restaurant. Ridiculous!!GET THIS!! Because it was a rainy day in Boston, they dropped the tickets down from $30 to $10, BUT, the only way to buy these tickets is via the kiosk that charges you $3 p/p . i lost it and cancelled everything. It's not about the money, it's the principle! Ramsey's Kitchen was happy to have us! DO BETTER BEACON, RIDICULOUS!
