Honestly I thought the check in process would be hectic but it was not too bad. We made a reservation via yelp, which I recommend you make. We had a Friday night 830pm reservation. After getting to the host (there was a bit of a line) we were told our table was ready, yay! Also got a nice compliment on my nails. Wow, at first glance the space is breathtaking! They have different chandelier type lamps hanging to add a sort of Renaissance/modern/Roman (in my opinion) vibe. It's really something extraordinary and relaxing at the same time.We had gone somewhere else for dinner so we didn't try the food although it looked amazing. However, we did have a slice of their chocolate fudge cake! Wow! It was very delicious and densely rich! I highly recommend this if you have a sweet tooth.Okay, the drinks were fantastic. I ended up having 2 drinks. I was drinking rum as my liquor of choice so I chose the backdoor daiquiri. It was so refreshing and unique, I felt so revived drinking it! For my second drink I requested a custom rum drink which was also very crisp and uplifting. The bartenders are definitely top notch if you're looking for an experience like this, which is very much custom.Overall, I really want to go back once in in Seattle again. I love speakeasies and this is one of the more spacious but definitely unique ones I have visited.

The six of us showed up here at 10:00 pm looking for an after dinner post function cocktail and conversation.Greetings at the door we're warm, friendly and inviting. We were seated in a corner table near the bar. Service was almost instant, drinks were ordered around and we simply sat, sipped and chatted. Yeah like till we'll after midnight. Sometimes things just click and we clicked with this place. If I lived in the Fremont/Ballard neighborhood I would no doubt be a regular here.

Great vibe! Feels like a real speakeasy with evening vibes. Good for a fun drink or cute date spot. The service was excellent too!

Great spot. Probably the best first date spot in Seattle. Low key but impressive enough.

I have been to The Backdoor two times and both times have been great- I have only had their drinks but would go back to try the food. Their drinks are really good and the vibe inside is very chill. The second time I went (on a Thursday night) they had aerobatic performer which was really cool.

This one is difficult for me to even put into words. I can't remember the last time I felt the need to give a one star review. To start, it took us more than an hour to find parking - I realize this is not on the restaurant but is relevant to coming here. We were there in time for our reservation but apparently they don't use that system anymore because they are under new management - so they had us wait an additional 50 minutes and were very rude about the entire situation - even as we approached it with patience. Upon being seated, it took our waiter about 15 minutes to come by our table. I should mention that it was not that busy inside and this poor service did not seem to be because of understaffing. We then went to order - and essentially they were out of everything on the menu. We had to eventually ask what they did have. They apparently weren't serving off the special Pride weekend menu that they handed us (even though it had that day's date at the top). They were out of two drinks we tried to order, and they had no fries. We were able to order a daiquiri which apparently tasted like soap, and calamari and a salad which were both decent. They never refilled our water. Everything there seems overpriced to me. The ambiance inside honestly feels quite claustrophobic (I do realize it is part of a prohibition theme) and doesn't match the quality depicted on the website. If our experience is any indication - this establishment is under new management and it isn't going well. I will not be back and I would actively recommend against going and spending your money there.

What a great little restaurant. Had a group of folks I was buying dinner for a work conference an tried to find someplace close. Stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for something else. When you walk in, you walk back in time to a speak easy from the 1920's. Great atmosphere and decor. We were at the location on a Monday night. They weren't busy. There was a waiter and a bartender for the entire place. The waiter did a great job while trying to handle the rest of the tables. We ordered several appetizers along with dinner and drinks.Great food and drinks. Highly recommend this place

A fun speakeasy located, yes you guessed it, in the backdoor of another restaurant. Plenty of off street parking so don't do what we did and park a few blocks away in the residential area (although that did allow us to find and grab delicious food at a Taiwanese restaurant nearby so not a total loss of time). We had live music and made it just in time for the last call for happy hour. The bar is simply beautiful with a tall tower of bottles behind it that is framed by hanging windows and mirrors on the wall. Very Hogwarts.I enjoyed the ambience and singing along to the music (covers of some older songs mixed with some originals). We didn't try the food but heard they have a pretty limited menu. This seems like a nice place for a drink date (in fact, there was actually a couple on such a date at the bar that night).

Food and drinks were decently priced. Three meals, three drinks, and three shots for $135 (w/o tip).Ambiance is on the darker, romantic side. They also had a tarot reader you could visit while dining!Service was a bit slow, but that's to be expected when there's only two servers and almost 8 tables.

A cute, whimsical speakeasy tucked into the heart of Fremont -- the decor and ambiance are so cool, with large painted murals and chandeliers! There's a decent amount of seating and it was simple to make a reservation for a Friday night. They have a decent amount of parking nearby, as well! The menu here is pretty small, and I would've loved to see a larger list of speciality drinks that were unique to the spot BUT I did enjoy the Pineapple Daiquiri and the Moscow Mule. We got a Baked Brie and truffle fries to share for the table, both were greats and the Brie was a standout for me, personally. A fun evening overall, would come back sometime!
