Best Açaí I've had... Don't miss this gem. Friendly owner and his wife run the place. Definitely care about your experience.

Service: 11/10. The owner of the store was there when I came by and I loved how excited and passionate he was to explain how they source and make their açaí. The girl at the front was also really nice and walked through explaining all the unique ingredients to me. Taste: 8.5/10. I really liked that you can customize the toppings but wish they had some almonds as a topping option. I saw a few people comment about how the raisins got hard and had similar feedback on this; but apart from that I really liked their homemade granola. The açaí was also tasty and he explained that it's authentic Brazilian style. They have a couple spots to sit inside and have created a nice comfy vibe to hang out at.

There are so many acai places in San Diego but this is probably the best I've had. The carrot coffee cake was a little dry but still good (I suggest warming it up) the granola was good except I didn't like the raisins in them (the icy cold acai was making them crunchy and it for stuck in my teeth) Service was good, the guy at the register was very informative. Vibes were good.

So while I was visiting San Diego I was searching for what stood out as a unique Acai experience here in pacific beach. The American Acai cafe has a Brazilian twist with some more savory treats like coxinha and pao de queijo. I had to try a little bit of everything and let me tell you wow wow wow! It's definitely a spot to be remembered and there will be later cravings so it's sad I don't live here! The service was warm and the gentleman behind the counter gave us a rundown of what to expect and was so friendly! The actual spot is located in a lively area and it seems like a great spot to bring friends later in the day or early in the morning for a more zen workplace vibe. Highly recommend

Real açaí from Brazil they make hand made here . And they have lil Brazilian snacks to go with your bowls . The wife got the honey cinnamon latte and she loves it ( very smooth) . We & Both our kids wouldn't stop eating. We all know that's a blessing in itself. Will definitely be back and definitely recommending to everyone.

Another change has occurred at this PB suite which has seen several boba tea and desserts spots come and go over the past few years. One aspect that may be detrimental about this location is that a MTA bus stop was situated right in front which obscures the visibility of the business. A small patio with countertop seating adjacent to the entrance still existed. The inside had been redecorated to be more neutral than its most recent predecessor which focused on bubble tea.Coffee, acai, smoothies, and pastries were the menu categories which were displayed on a flat screen hanging on the wall to the left of the service counter. A large Tropical smoothie was my choice. Mango, pineapple, banana, and apple juice were the ingredients. The blend was very smooth and not watered down. It was one of the better quality smoothies that I have consumed.I believe the owners of The American Acai Cafe were Brazilian in descent. One of them interacted with a group of customers who walked in while I was enjoying my item. At a future visit, I will have to try an acai bowl to see how it stacks up with my favorite places in town. That along with sampling a savory pastry (e.g. coxinha or pao de queijo) will be the goals.

This is the first time I've had genuine brazilian acai, and it's by far the best I've ever had. The acai isn't as sweet as most american acai, but the ingredients even it out. The leite ninho was something I had never heard of, it was a powdered condensed milk, and I'll be sad knowing I've only ever had it here. Its the best topping I've had with acai. The person working here was so welcoming. Their ingredients are imported from Brazil and their food is handmade.

Found this little gem on our last day in SD. I'd been craving a good acai bowl and also wanted to try a new place and this hit the spot! They've been open for about two months but their grand opening is today! We tried quite a few items here and everything was tasty! My daughter and I ordered the acai bowls and loved it! The acai blend was perfect! Only negative for me were the raisins in the homemade granola. It was a bit too hard for us mixed with the cold acai but otherwise the granola was tasty! The carrot coffee cake was also yummy and went perfectly with my matcha latte! The coxinha is a Brazilian savory item with chicken inside and it was surprisingly tasty also and my son also enjoyed it. He loved his chocolate croissant and strawberry banana smoothie also. Will definitely come back the next time we're in town
