That Place Subs and Salads

Craving a taste of Chicago? Don't pass up "That Place" although you might do so inadvertently as it's in a little nondescript strip mall. There are daily lunch specials and they also have Chicago style Vienna brand hotdogs, but I had come for one of their famous "samiches" and it was fun reading the menu since the selections are named after famous gangsters like Capone, Gambino, Gambino, etc., but the choices were hard. I finally decided on #17 The Costello (ham, mortadella, capicola, Genoa salami, pepperoni, provolone, lettuch, tomato, onions, cramy garlic mayo and Italian dressing) Capo size rather than the smaller Crew size. While I waiting, I looked over the pics of some famous gangsters and watched my samich being made.I enjoyed talking to the new owner Kim and her crew, and then settled downinside (some seating, including a table and umbrella is available outside) in front of the neatly wrapped for ease of holding it masterpiece samich and aunique soda.It's been a long time since I had such quality meats, especially my long awaited mortadella! I took 1/2 home for later. The bread is a softer style than I usually prefer, but it was so fresh and perfect for the amount of filling since it would squish down enough to actually bite without effort. I'll definitely return to try something else, but Capo Costello will be hard to beat!

Had me a Samich I couldn't refuse at That Place Subs and Salads in Peoria, AZ @thatplacesubsandsalads for lunch today! Just a good, big, juicy, creamy sub with lots of meats and cheese. I got mine 'mobbed up' with extra vinaigrette and peperoncini, and with a side of house made pasta salad, and a medium fountain drink. I ordered:- No. 8 THE MORAN CREWRoast beef, turkey breast, provolone, lettuce, tomato and creamy garlic mayo., Mobbed up. - House made pasta salad- Fountain drinkI'm so excited to have found a good sub spot close to home. Can't wait to come back and try the salads and dogs. I also saw that oatmeal is served, as well as some really good looking desserts. service was really friendly here. I've never ordered before and they were patient and explained how everything worked. Food is either brought to you or you could pick it up at the back counter. There is seating inside or outside near the entrance under a patio. I love the theme and decor here. It's simple and clean. I studied mobsters on the wall as I ate my samich.

The bread that was used was soft and very moist from the dressing and broke apart half way through eating it. Wears the meat. The sandwich lacked meat I thought I was eating a sandwich from Greece or Italy. The restaurants ample parking, limit spots to eat when busy. The restaurant was clean and the team was friendly.

Fantastic food, service at a fair price. Sandwiches like I used to get back in Chicago. Yummy!

Great little neighborhood sandwich shop. Lot's of choices across the menu. This was our first visit. Order taker was very friendly, helpful and friendly.Had The Sinatra and The Consigliary. Plenty of meat and toppings on both.Cozy setting with limited seating, but still a great experience.We are definitely coming back to check out more menu options.

The sandwich was okay but the bread needed to be toasted as it was mushy and fell apart. The bread tasted good just didn't hold up to the sauce on sandwich

We were in the mood for a good sandwich. Searched and came across That Place Subs and Salads. Ordered the Castello and oh em gee, it was one of the best sandwiches I've had. Fresh bread, thinly slided meats and extremely full of flavor. We will definitely be back when we're in the area!

Friendly staff and fairly priced delicious sandwiches!! The service was fast and all the ingredients on my #12 tasted fresh. I highly recommend coming here for a great local sandwich rather than going to another chain restaurant

Ordered a salad and half sandwich for lunch and it was delicious!! The sweet Italian dressing and creamy garlic are wonderful. I think the cucumbers are diced up a little big but yummy nonetheless. Will be coming back to try other items!

I visited THAT PLACE AGAIN TODAY ...I ordered a #3 and #13... DELICIOUS I recommend anyone who reads this review to take a look and try out their sandwiches. They are the best around ....It's a family, friendly establishment warm with a relaxed feeling and an interactive staff... You can't beat this place I'm glad it was recommended to me via Walmart employee ... I live near there and I've never noticed it until it was mentioned to me now I am a true customer.Come on Folks ..
