I'm a sucker for K-bars. They have the iconic fruit soju's served in the actual fruit peels (watermelon and pineapple). Love their budae jjigae [army stew], which is the epitome of comfort food. And their bonchon selection is also solid. Dishes are easily shareable -- I love family style, so a great place to dine with a group.Ample seating, so we've always been seated with little wait time. Great place for drunchies!! Parking lot, also street parking available.

I was craving some Korean food pretty late in the evening and found this place was opened til 1:30am so I dragged my friend there to try it out with me. When we arrived, the waitress barely acknowledged us and we stood awkwardly at the door until she waved at a table in the middle back of the restaurant. The restaurant wasn't that crowded so we were both a bit surprised by the waitress being upset and short with us. It took a few minutes before she brought us some menus and water and after we ordered, we decided to draw a bit on the blackboards that cover the walls surrounding our seat. We had ordered their dduboki, sweet chili drumsticks, and pork katsu as well as a regular lychee soju cocktail and when everything arrived, we were pleasantly pleased with the large quantities. However, we did notice that we were given a large cocktail instead of a regular and every time I tried to get the waitress's attention, I was ignored several times so we ended up keeping the large drink. Thoughts on the food:Dduboki: The classic Dduboki is hard to mess up and while it's typically a very cheap dish to make, the $15 price point made me think it was going to be something special. However, we live in SoCal so that's just wishful thinking. Overall, it still tasted good. 7.5/10Sweet chili drumsticks: Once of my favorite dishes to order at Korean restaurants are their fried chicken. I don't know what magic they add to their chicken but god damn they tasted fantastic! The perfectly crispy skin slathered with the sweet yet spicy sauce made for a delicious meal. 9.2/10Pork Katsu: This dish was leaning toward the drier side, flavor was good but I wasn't a fan of how thin the pork was compared to the crust. 5/10Lychee soju cocktail: A tasty cocktail that made the night more fun, the large was made for sharing and luckily I enjoying it alone. 8/10

recently tried the galbi-jjim at thangthang and it was absolutely amazing! The meat was incredibly soft and tender, cooked to perfection. The veggies were warm and had the best sweet and spicy glaze, which added a burst of flavor to the dish. I loved how it was served in a hot pan, keeping everything nice and hot. Pairing it with rice was the perfect combination. The only downside was that the soju cocktails were a bit too sweet for my taste. But, theyre perfect for sharing with friends and delicious if you have a sweet tooth

I kind of felt like this had a strip club vibe to the place lolThe workers did their job. There was like a 30 minute wait around 11:00pm on a Friday night. We ordered the soy boneless chicken thigh, bulgogi, kimchi tofu soup, and (2) steamed rice. Total came out to around $75 plus tip. The food was okay. The chicken and bulgogi were extremely sweet. The kimchi tofu soup was spicy but not in a good way. No banchan with your meal.We tried out this place, but it wasn't a hit with us... but it might be for college boys.- Service was average.- Food was okay.- Restaurant was okay.- Cleanliness was okay.- Price wasn't worth it.- Wait wasn't worth it.

We came around 6 on a Friday night. Wasn't too packed. We ordered the Spicy Daeji galbi jjim, Duboki with cheese and ramen, Bulgogi, and kimchi fried rice w spam. Food was good. I had no issues with what we ordered. Everything tasted good. The sides however were not that good. That japchae was hard and not flavorful. I could've done without the sides basically. Service was pretty quick. Parking lot is kind of small but a lot of street parking too.Place was clean. Decor was really nice and they had really good music. I would come back again, because I enjoyed their food and would like to try other menu items.

First time coming here and don't think I would come back speaking honestly. We ordered the budaejiggae and kimchi pancake which both were good although I feel that the budaejiggae could've been better. It felt like something I could have easily made at home and wish it just had more ingredients in it for the price. I asked for more edamame and they instead gave us all the banchan yet didn't notify us that we were going to be charged extra until the bill came. It was my first time going to a korean restaurant and getting charged for banchan so I assumed it would be complimentary. I honestly would have appreciated being notified of it when I first asked.

If you're looking for hearty and filling Korean street style food, this is the place. Super delicious and very flavorful food. We had some kimchi fried rice, corn cheese, chicken wings and spicy rice cakes in lots and lots of sauce (aka tteokbokki). All of these dishes were excellent with the shining stars being the corn cheese and tteokbokki. The corn cheese seems to be their specialty here and they nail it. The tteokbokki had a great consistency & texture, and the sauce had some good kick to it. Although I would have liked my chicken wings to be crispier, the meat beautifully separated from the bone with every bite. No complaints on the kimchi fried rice. The place has a very casual feel to it. It's a restaurant you would bring your friends out to and enjoy a night out with some solid food. We sat in a booth and there were some chalk boards on the wall where previous guests brought their artistic passions to life (i just drew up a tic-tac-toe game with my party). Additionally, they're open late which is always a plus. I would give this place a 5 star rating if the service was faster. All the waiting staff are friendly and they make you feel welcome. But the service is just so slooow. There's a button at every table for service calls but if you don't push it, they almost never come check on you. Asking for things like the bill or a few extra napkins took longer than I would've liked. Excellent food in a casual ambiance, but unfortunately very slow service.

Coming from a first-timer, this place did us a solid! Centrally located restaurant by Convoy and ample parking in the little strip mall parking lot or on the street. When parking is easy, it makes me happy! My friend and I were STARVING coming from a basketball tournament we went to so we ordered TON for two of us. Starters: the usual banchan which I loveeeee everything was perfectly marinated! What we ordered:- Steamed Dumplings 1/10- Corn Cheese 10/10- Bulgogi 10/10- Beef and Seafood Soondubu jigae soup was AMAZING as well 10/10- Popcorn chicken 6/10; to be fair though, we were already full from the other items we ordered so we only had a few bites of the chicken and were too full to enjoy. - Side of rice- Sprite and water for drinks of choiceThey also have amazing looking soju and some beers I believe. Thang Thang was pretty good 8/10 overall experience for me! The service by our waitress Shadi was great and she was very knowledgeable, sweet, and professional. The interior decor of the restaurant is questionable though... it was giving "lets just put this together and add some plants" vibe. What I didn't like was the hallway to the bathroom. It just wasn't the cleanest and the bathroom itself was a mess and just did not give me the cleanest vibes. All in all, this place is good and I would definitely eat here again and again!

Tucked into a small parking lot in Convoy. Beware like any other food spot in the Clairemont area... you're fighting for your life trying to get a parking spot. Inside the restaurant itself is decently sized and is great for big groups. Food is family style sized and it's relatively easy to get service because each table comes with a button to call the waitress.
