I can't believe I hadn't tried this place before! It's on Main Street, in the middle of downtown El Cajon. There's parking spots in front (2 hr limit) but I saw they also have a sign for their own parking in the back. I went in on a Friday night about an hour and a half before closing and it was pretty packed. There was only one girl as a waitress for the entire place, and she was awesome. Although it was busy, the waitress was attentive and came by our table often. Food and drinks came out in a timely manner and everything was delicious! We got a Chardonnay carafe of their house wine, the penne pasta with the house made marinara, garlic cheese bread, and the eggplant parmigiana. The sauce tasted great, not too sweet. The portions were very big, leaving us with lots of leftovers to take. The ambiance was very nice and the space is decent. There are lots of tables and a bar area as well with a TV to watch sports. Definitely will be going back to try the pizza!

So, I was recommended this place by my lovely friend! I really enjoy our friendship and I admire her positivity so when she said I should try it, I thought what the hell. My fiancé and I very hungry today ordered about seventy dollars worth of food.I really wish we hadn't; first thing I noticed ZERO Italian people there, that was my first red flag. Second it smelled like nothing, granted there was only ONE family in there at 4pm on a SATURDAY but it should smell like food. We got home and we were utterly disappointed. I genuinely think the food reviews are from people who don't leave El Cajon, because if you've actually traveled to other parts of San Diego county or out of the state and or country like I have, you would NOT think this food is good. frozen Walmart tv dinners are better than what we wasted money on earlier.The chicken was chewy, it tasted fake. The spaghetti was god awful. Tasted like canned tomato paste, I highly doubt it was made with fresh tomatoes. The fettuccine was chewy, the Alfredo sauce WAS MILK WATER. I cannot believe that atrocity was supposed to be Alfredo. I have had bad pasta before, only one time and that was Olive Garden, I would have RATHER spent seventy at Olive Garden because at least it would have been salted. Pepper or salt couldn't have fixed what this restaurant gave me. The bread was good but after trying both pastas we couldn't even stomach anything anymore. We then gave it to my fiancés grandmother, we told her it was horrible but she said she might like it. She just got through giving us a very thorough explanation on why it was so bad. She's a lunch lady at the local middle school in town and she said the food she serves is so much better than what she had to eat. My fiancé and I are so mad we paid that money for that food, our guts were telling us no too. Lesson learned. Please try Simao Napoli in North Park or Cardellino in Mission Hills! The pasta is worth the drive(if you are concerned about driving twenty mins west)and it's AUTHENTIC. The good reviews have seriously got to be paid because there's NO WAY.

The food was sufficient of a review. The pizza was soft and tasty. The lobster mac and cheese was devine. And the Ciopinno was tasty. The restaurant was quaint, but the outdoor patio is the best seat in the house. Service staff was really nice and went above and beyond to help us with what we want. I've had better but it's decent for east county.

This place never disappoints! The Mozzarella Sticks are always gooey and delicious. The Pizza is cheesy and the crispy crust holds up great. The pasta is saucy & flavorful. Service is friendly and attentive. The place feels homey and inviting. I'm always suggesting this place to friends and family whenever we find ourselves in the area. Really good food and decently priced.

I am a fan of Italian food and was excited to try this restaurant... happy to say I was pleased by the selection on the menu. I wanted to try multiple items so I decided to get the combo selection with eggplant parmigiana and lasagna. The portion was perfect, after eating a starter salad and some delicious complimentary bread I was almost full so after a few bites of my main course I boxed up the rest of my meal for tomorrow. I saved a little room for desert and shared a tiramisu and some cannoli with my family. Honestly, it was so good. When walking out, I saw other tables with pizza and I have to come back to try it the next time I visit El Cajon. The service was great, my waitress was attentive and friendly.

Ordered take out during the week as Thanksgiving was fast approaching and most of our resources and energies were diverted to Thanksgiving prep. We had:- large Caesar salad and- a large double deluxe pizza, no green bell peppers, sub for jalapeños instead. Service via telephone and in person pick up was friendly; food was ready when I arrived at the restaurant. Caesar salad was okay, nothing to write home about. The double deluxe pizza, on the other hand, I have some more comments on. Despite requesting no green bell peppers, there were green peppers AND jalapeños, and boy, the grease on the pizza? It has been a while since I have seen grease drip off my slice of pizza! I was able to stomach one slice and that was it. Unfortunately, I think the rest of our large deluxe pizza was left untouched and uneaten :( Perhaps it was an off night in the kitchen (it *was* the week of Thanksgiving, after all), or maybe we should have ordered a different pie. Maybe Testo Pepesto's culinary specialty lies beyond pizza. Either way, I think it will take a while for the greasy pizza to leave our memories before we can give Testo Pepesto another try.

Friends recommended this place. This place has caused me to look down on their life choices. The food was ok but the service was ridiculous. I came to dine in and ordered the lasagna. There were only 3 other tables occupied. Two already served and yet my order was taken over 40 minutes ago and still wasn't ready. I was on my lunch hour and had to leave soon. I asked to have my order to go because I it was taking too long to come out. I wouldn't have time to eat before I had to get back to work. This was supposed to be the lunch special. When the bill came they denied me the lunch special price because I was ordering "takeout." I had to "dine in" for the lunch special price. They even had the nerve to charge me tip because I was "dining in." This place is ridiculous.Check your bill. You're probably being overcharged for something.

So good, so good!!! We had a few pizzas and every one of them was baked perfectly. The cheese blends are fantastic. The pepperoni had just the right level of spice. It was juicy and flavorful. The cannoli was like and flaky with an amazing filling! Every part of this meal was fantastic! I would definitely eat here again!!!Great food, great service!!!

At this point in my life, I've ordered testo, more than any food delivery service ever, their cheese ravioli is mind blowing. It is easily the best I've ever had. This place is fantastic. We have ordered them to cater our rehearsal dinner, we have ordered them to cater birthday parties, we have ordered them to cater barbecues with the family and we just order a side of mac & cheese. They are all absolutely phenomenal. We cannot say enough good things about this place.
