Temporis was one of my husband's and my favorite one star Michelin experiences in Chicago (Mako and Esme are also amazing!) On a quieter street in West Town, Temporis has an intimately small dining room, though they were accommodating of my being on crutches during our visit. The highlights of our experience were the canapé, fluke, lobster, pistachio pasta, and dessert courses. The standard wine pairing was also excellent.Service was timed well and wine pairings always preceded course servings.I did not love either the Iberico or the A5Wagyu courses, though I loved the idea of BBQ fine dining. The sauces did not mesh well, and the dish was fatty. However, nothing ventured, nothing gained, and I've never seen that concept done before. Overall, 5/5 stars as it's still one of the top Michelin star restaurants I would visit again.

Temporis is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. Upon walking in, we were greeted and the host offered to take our jackets. The dining area is surprisingly small, but it wasn't crowded. Casual music played in the background. We had the five-course tasting menu, and each dish was introduced as the server described its components.Presentation was impecable and reminded me of how they present dishes in cooking competitions. In terms of taste, in the first three dishes in particular, a multitude of flavor profiles were apparent that I hadn't experienced before. Umami, salty, sweet, acidic, fresh, and earthy all combined into one dish. Every fish tasting was outstanding and the flavors blended perfectly. The only plate I wasn't fond of was the pork & barbecue sauce.Overall, Temporis provides an all-around unique tasting experience that I highly recommend.

Was blown away at the start of the tasting menu but was disappointed but some later dishes and the desserts. Wouldn't recommend the $125 upsell dish with truffles.AmazingFluke - perfect bite with perfectly prepared fish, dabs of fruit, and volcanic salt providing a fun twistSpirit free pairing - excellent preparations. Creative and well paired.Very strongCanapes - fun bites, perfect pastryTomato - complex burst, great gelLobster - luxurious with parsnipCactus - refreshing and creative pallet cleanserWine pairing - the basic wine pairing had very tasty options with a few that truly elevated the food. Only felt the dessert wine wasn't sweet enough.OKCorn - sweet and fresh corn but the topping didn't really elevate a class combo. Too much added truffle.Pistachio pasta with truffle - so many things going on with apricot, pistachio and cheese pasta that the truffle feels unnecessary.Didn't loveIberico - fun idea with tasty BBQ. But I found that much fat off putting, and the green and yellow dots didn't add anything. Solid tortellini. Meh coleslaw. Loved watermelonA5 Wagyu - again really fatty. Pad Thai idea is an interesting idea but a dish trying to be more creative than deliciousBergamot - a version of a pavlova that didn't work for me. Like the pepper dust idea but lacked sweetnessCocoa - quite bitter, frozen balls were too subtle to offset

Went here last night to celebrate post marathon and what an incredible experience!! Every single dish was absolutely stunning, delicious and unique. The restaurant is not large, but this is a massive pro in my opinion because you can tell how much the entire team works together and cares about the experience of their guests. I also really liked the ambiance and vibe that the smaller location emanates. We've been to several Michelin star restaurants over the years, and this one is a standout in terms of food quality, service, and accommodation. I am pescatarian and gluten free and was so impressed with how much they accommodated for me to still enjoy the full Michelin experience. Practically every dish was nearly identical to my (non allergenic) family's, and I really appreciated the lengths they went to to make sure I was included as part of the entire experience. We also did the wine pairing, which I would highly recommend!!Can't wait to go back next time we're in Chicago looking to celebrate a special occasion. Thank you, Temporis for an incredible experience!(Just including a few select dishes to not give anything away, but just so you can get an idea of the caliber of this awesome spot. Truly well done!)

While planning our Chicago trip, my friend and I wanted to indulge in a Michelin Star restaurant. After some research we decided that we wanted to go to Temporis. Best decision ever! For such a phenomenal experience, I feel like it was extremely affordable at $195/person for 3 hours of glory. This is probably one of the best meals I have had in my life... and I eat really well. The experience started off on a wonderful note. We arrived earlier than our reservation before the restaurant was even opened but we were welcomed in by Laura. That was much appreciated since it was so chilly outside. It keeps getting better and better as she welcomed us to take all the pictures we wanted and even helped us take a few. Above and beyond service is what you can expect from Temporis. To go with our meal, we decided to get the Standard Pairing ($115/person) and we were able to hear beautiful descriptions of 5 tastings by Kayla their fantastic sommelier. All of the tastings paired perfectly with each corresponding course. So their tasting menu is inspired by whatever is currently growing in their hydroponic garden. I also noticed a lot of seasonal items so I imagine that comes into play with their menu as well. However the magic happens, I'm loving it. We had the most delightful meal with canapes trio of wagyu, uni and pear. There was foie gras, white pumpkin and caviar. These were bites I continue to daydream about. Then we got to the heartier items like the black cod which happens to be one of my favorite proteins, and a squab which happens to be one of my friend's favorite proteins and this glorious wagyu ribeye. Then there was a tamarind palette cleanser, followed by 2 desserts, a nori and a basil. We also received a complimentary celebratory dessert with what tastes like a matcha ice cream base with the most glorious meringue torched and then topped with gold flakes. AMAZING!! I feel like I have lived a fulfilled life after enjoying this meal. The overall experience was spectacular. The devil is in the details. There were new utensils with every dish and new glasses to correspond to every tasting. All of the glasses were flawlessly clean. When they noticed my friend was left handed, they knew the set her up for the left handed setting. Everything was so incredibly thoughtful. I even notice when we use the restroom, they go in and reset everything so you get to experience it like no one's been in that restroom before. The toilet paper even gets that fancy triangle folded edge. Just when we thought the experience couldn't get better, Chef Troy George offers to take a picture with us. HOW NICE!! Wait... even better... despite being so busy in the kitchen making glorious meals for everyone... he cared enough to ask us to see if we like the photo or we can retake it. HOW SWEET!!Thank you so much to Chef Troy Jorge, Laura, Kayla and the entire team for making our night so special. I truly felt like royalty. I will definitely come back the next time I have the opportunity to come back to Chicago.

Absolutely obsessed with this place! This is a three star experience in a one star restaurant (which should get more). The food was both delicious and beautiful. I honestly left absolutely stuffed! They give you a little treat to take home to eat and grow. I won't spoil it but it's very unique and I loved it! The wine pairing was really nice. We went with the middle tier and tried some fun wines and a nice sake as a surprise in the middle. Our server was knowledgeable and gave us some good recommendations of other wines to try at home. The place does feel like a classic michelin star restaurant- white table cloth, nice stemware, pretty plates. I love that vibe at a tasting! It wasn't stuffy though despite what you may think. We had a great time! This is one of those places that should have more stars. I've been to 2 stars that are less creative and delicious. They spend the time to create amazing work and then explain it to you. Basically, this is now one of my favorite places and I will be back with the seasonal menu change!

Firstly everything was sooo good including the wine pairings so please don't expect specific details on any of the dishes or the photos that I am going to post. Needless to say everything was beyond delicious. We have been going to Temporis since it opened in 2017. Chefs have changed. The quality of the food and staff has not. This is why it continues to be a go to place for me when we have special occasions. This time, it was my parents' 50th weddings anniversary and the staff and chef went beyond themselves to make my parents feel special. The tasting menu is so good every plate feels like a treat but the wine pairings (explained by the most attentive and thoughtful sommelier EVER) elevated the experience. This is a Michelin star plus 2 pluses if you ask me. Compared to other one star Michelin restaurants in the city, this is definitely a welcome extra. Try it, you won't regret it.

Just an amazing restaurant experience!! Looking from the outside of the restaurant it doesn't look like much as it is hard to view in, but stepping inside and being seated was only the beginning of an awesome journey. The restaurant is quite small but very well set up, the ambiance is very classy yet homey. The staff was also very inviting and they ensured to guide us on a wonderful dinner journey. We ended having the 10 course meal with some two bonus courses and dessert ! Hats off to the chef as each course was really good with the stand out courses for us being the Wagyu Ribeye, squab, corn, and Foie Gras. Each dinner item was very well explained by staff as well as providing wine paring. This enhanced our meal and experience over the 2 hour dinner!I would definitely recommend this restaurant if given a chance! The restaurant has exceptional operation and really deserves high praises!

This is an absolutely phenomenal restaurant with the most beautiful food. Only reason this is 4 stars is because if you have a Michelin star and the tasting menu is $195 the expectations are incredibly high.Went there for a graduation dinner for the 10 course set menu and wine pairing. Staff was welcoming and gave very generous pours! The presentation and plating of Temporis is top notch and looks like artwork. Some of the flavors were quite strong and the acidity was overpowering in a couple dishes.Canapés: 4/5, razor clams were phenomenal, wagyu dumpling may have been slightly over saltedFoie gras: 3/5, it was a custard like dish with Granny Smith apples and I found the flavor combination oddFluke: 5/5 amazing flavor with the strawberry and limeWhite asparagus: 5/5, unassuming in the best way. Amazing pour over soup presentation that was creamy and absolutely delightful!Maine lobster: 5/5, everyone's favorite at the table. The lobster was cooked phenomenally and the dish was absolutely beautiful Duck breast: 4/5, I am a sucker for duck breast and loved this but mine was slightly chewy for some reason, it may have been just undercooked as it was the rare part in the center the part that was a little tougher. Came with a little duck confit dumpling which I thought was the cutest thing ever, plus it tasted greatA5 wagyu: 4/5, yummy and tender but nothing special that brought it over the top imoTamarind: 1/5 this was a tamarind and ginger shaved ice that was supposed to be a palate cleanser. It was much to gingery and difficult to palate and I only had two bites before I decided I couldn't eat it.Nori: 2/5 really unique dessert with fried masago and cream. I love how the chef went out of the box but the combination of the dessert with the fishy flavors wasn't for meBlack cocoa: 4/5 interesting dessert, hibiscus jam/jelly may have been a bit too tarte which is a theme I noticed in a lot of their dishesMignardes: 2/5, mango marshmallow was far too sour, and I enjoy eating warheads and sour patch

Eating at places like Temporis remind me that cooking is truly an art. I came here last week (May 2022) with my boyfriend, and we both had such a wonderful experience. When I first walked in, I appreciated the dark, romantic interior and friendly service (took our coats, pulled out our chairs, etc). It seemed like most of their seating was also for couples or pairs. I will forever remember my first bite here - that wagyu dumpling was absolutely scrumptious and packing in flavor. The foie gras dish inside an egg was also so clever and creamy/citrusy. All the dishes were beautifully plated, especially the terrarium. I never knew asparagus could taste so good until I ate at Temporis - definitely a dark horse menu item. While the main dishes were also great, I didn't care for the desserts as much. If I had to say anything negative (just the slightest bit), I was a bit disappointed by how citrus-forward all the dishes were; it reminded me a bit of Uchi's flavors. I wish there was more of a variety. Outside of that, you should definitely consider doing a wine pairing here. We did the half pour option of the standard menu and still got really generous pours from the friendly waiters. Service was absolutely incredible from beginning to end; we both got small boxes of treats and our menus to take home (such a nice little touch), and the staff are all very welcoming and a little quirky/fun if you talk to them. I really hope Temporis gets its two-star rating soon!
