Tempe Tavern

It's a spot I've gone to a handful or times and I like it! A step up from a nice hole in the wall bar but a lot more comfortable than one of those stuck up bars! The food I've tried was really good. (Wings, Fish Tacos, Burgers & Fries but there's much more) Friendly staff! When ASU is in session the night crowd changes pretty fast but it's always been a friendly atmosphere. It's my go too place

Great service and awesome prices, walking distance which is great, and reminds me of my dive bars from back home!

My favorite bar in Phoenix. A true dive bar where they know everyone's name. It also has the worlds worst standup comedy on tuesdays. It's perfect.No notes.

The grilled wings were so tiny for $11. It was so overpriced. The server was excellent. The setting was nice and quiet. All the TV's they had showed different shows. Everything else but the wind were good.

The food was pretty good- ordered bottle caps (fried jalepenos) and the chips and dip. The bartender was incredibly slow, and the place was not even busy until very late. Single stall bathroom. The place is mostly college kids. Cheap food and drinks tho ! I recommend the lil devil with sprite instead of soda water, and the Baby Dick Shot was a popular buy (a shot made with coffee tequila and a cream liqueur) The service was just awfully slow for drinks and the security sucked (I was being bugged by a very very very drunk guy, who was likely over served) I think he left on his own volition and was not removed.

Refused to let me in because my ID was vertical and not horizontal even thought it was a real ID and I was just from out of state. But they will let in kids who have a fake ID and have no problem serving them

The bartender is terrible! She is rude and mean and makes horrible drinks! Hate this bar hate the drinks! Food is good actually. But the lady is so mean and sexist she will be rude and mean to all men!

The service here is good and it is a good environment..But man, the food tonight was not it. Maybe everyone has their off day..But the fish and chips I just ordered is literally the worst I've ever had. Not exaggerating. It was soggy, weird looking and had hairs all through it. I asked for no onions on the Mexican pizza and it had about as many onions as you could fit on it. Also soggy.

On two occasions parking lot nazis came outside and were very rude to me. I was waiting in my car for a friend, for no more than 5 min & someone came out and asked me to either drive away or to come inside. On the second occasion the guy sitting outside told me he didn't like how I drove through the parking lot... he said I drove like an intoxicated person. total weirdo. & made me feel awkward in front of people. I just can't come back again. They are too weird here & super super rude.Drink prices are very reasonable. But bad service is a dealbreaker for me post Covid era. Sherry is cool and funny, top three burgers I have ever had, same with the onion rings. The beers priced very reasonable, the historic appearance is classic. Must go!!
