Ted's Family Meats

Reasonably priced butcher who had everything we were looking for - thank goodness! - and even did some specialty cuts for us. Folks behind the counter were fantastic, super helpful and very friendly, and we really appreciated the question-answering and the excellent service.I was particularly happy to get beef and chicken bones as it's soup season. The beef bones formed the base broth for a fantastic french onion soup, and the chicken backs turned into a stock for a sausage and escarole soup, with a fennel Italian sausage, also from Ted's Family Meats. The sausage was on the leaner side and had good flavor, both of which we appreciated.

If I can give them more than 5 stars, I would! I can't begin to express my gratitude for this place. My MIL requested that I make roast pork for an upcoming family event. Let's forget the fact that your girl just learned how to make it. I was on that quest to find that perfect piece of pork belly with skin on. As much as I love Costco, but it's a failed because they remove that layer of skin. So I reached out to Ted's on fb to ask if they carry it. Low and behold, I received a quick response that they could order it for me. He informed me as soon as it came in. It was more than I expected. A little bit more pricey than your typical Vietnamese market. Butttt, you're paying for quality. I rather pay more for quality than questionable meat. They definitely delivered, beyond my expectation. (I just left the establishment 15 mins ago and couldn't wait to write this review.) I will totally recommend this local business to all my family and friends.

Best butcher in the area with great, consistent product and knowledgeable staff. Been using Teds for 10 years and will continue to do so.

Ted's Family Meats are located inside Top Of The Hill Market. Which is nice because after you buy your meat you can turn right around and get some fruits and veggies.Teds is outstanding. The steaks here are melt in your mouth good! I made one for my husband the other day and he literally said, "This is the best steak you've ever made" and I told him it was because of the quality of meat here. Everything they put out is great. I even get their in house made sausages which taste delicious too. All of the employees are very sweet and willing to give you suggestions on how to prepare the meat. Im always at a loss for how to cook sausages, but one of the guys gave me some tips on how he does it at home and I've been making it that way ever since. Honestly, I can't go anywhere else for meat now. Love this place!

Local butcher with speciality meats, yaaaahhhhh duck breast! Duck breast is frozen and from maple farms.If you are a duck eater like me, then you know it is hard to find a butcher who sells duck. Love the neighborhood feel of this butchery and is adjacent to a small grocer with fruits and veggies.

TL;DR - One of the guys behind the butcher counter got very aggressive with me and told me that, despite not even speaking with him, if "you're complaining, leave." Told him to calm down, I wasn't complaining and he got aggressive and in my face. I came in to get a whole brisket. The gentleman behind the counter who was helping me was polite and let me know that they didn't have any whole brisket in stock, but that they would have some later in the week. I told him I needed it for tomorrow and he let me know they had the flat available if I wanted. I asked if he could tell me how big the flats were and he went to the fridge to grab it and show me. While he was gone to the fridge, his coworker behind the counter told me that if was going to complain then leave. I told him to calm down, I'm not complaining. The guy takes a super aggressive stance and yells no at me.This was honestly one of the weirdest experiences I've ever had at the grocery store. I understand a lot of folks are under stress and pressure right now and I hope this guy and his family are alright. That being said, this is no way to treat another person, never mind a customer. My pregnant wife and I felt like we were being threatened for trying to buy meat from the store.

Good selection of meats. We bought their very tasty bacon wrapped jalapenos stuffed with Texas brisket.v they have Rancho Gordo beans.

Went here for the first time this last weekend to pick up a prime rib for Mother's Day. Service was fantastic. Very friendly and knowledgeable and took the time to share some tips with me.Great little store and so many things to look at. Picked up some produce while I was here and it was delicious. We ended up with a great prime rib and a nice Mother's Day celebration. Highly recommend!

We came here on a whim because dude wants a man-sized steak. The lady at the counter was friendly and we asked if the cuts of beef were grass-fed. She said all of the beef cuts are grass fed. The quality was good. Very thick and fresh cuts. We got the rib eye. It was more expensive than qfc but supporting local small companies... Parking is easy and small but close.They also have good veggies and fruit! Once in a while, we get coupons in the mail -so watch out for those! I used to go more often but often find myself going to qfc for other stuff...then I got lazy and didn't want to go to multiple places to get stuff. I should go more often though!

Whoo! This place was fun! The flavors! The spices!I'm a fan of smoked meat, and spiced meat, so this place was totally made for me.When I first arrived, I was seeing if they made Landjaeger. They sure did, so I bought some. Such complex flavor for a non-hot version of a Landjaeger.I noticed the pepperoni sticks. I don't actually remember which flavors I got, although I'm pretty sure one was Jalapeño and cheddar. They were awesome. I ate some plain, and then chopped up some and tossed it into a leftover soup I had sitting around. That was superb.There were smoked chicken thighs in a fridge nearby. I got a packet. Very nice smoked flavor. I ate some cold, and I heated up some for a sandwich as well. Lovely. I make my own smoked chicken thighs, so I probably won't buy it often, but I thought the flavor was great.I asked if the huge pickles behind the counter were also homemade. They said they were, and that the spicy ones were special. So I got one. Oh my goodness, those were hot! Super tasty, but for someone who loves spices, I couldn't finish the whole thing in one sitting :) So much fun.Now I need to talk about the jerky. While I was doing all my shopping, the lady behind the counter said that they had fresh habanero jerky coming off the smoker, and would I like to try some? I can't pass up spicy jerky, so I said sure. I tasted it. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Fantastic flavor! So good! So I bought a bunch. As a side note, if you can get some jerky fresh, it's amazing. Every time I visit, I'm going to ask if they have any fresh jerky coming out of the smoker.So anyway, when I'm driving away at the end of my trip, I pull some jerky out to eat it. Earlier I'd just had a taste, but now I had a big piece. Oh! The flavor was what I remembered, so juicy, so... oh my word, what is happening in my mouth? It's FIRE. So much FIRE! The spices were intense. I started to sweat. I started to cough and laugh. So good and so hot! They're not joking around with their spices!Anyway, I had a lovely trip here. It was like a mini-vacation for a person who likes meat like I do. I'm excited to visit again sometime.
