Some of the best Mediterranean dishes I've had in my lifetime with some Egyptian flare. Nestled in a small plaza in Scottsdale, one could be forgiven for thinking this was just another mom and pop shop. Taza Bistro deserves to be known as Arizona's best.We started with the Meze Trio, a delightful medley of (amazing) hummus, seasoned olive oil, and an olive spread with small slices of pita. Just perfect - no notes.I ordered the Beyond Gyro - which is a bit of a misnomer given that one would expect this to be a BeyondMeat product - it's really a blend of seasoned beef and lamb made in-house. It was perfect. Super tender and flavorful. The house tzatziki and hummus that accompanied were was very good as well. It came with the small pita pieces again rather than being served in a larger pita sandwich, but this did not detract from the quality of the dish. I'd come back here again just for this.My wife order the Cairo platter, consisting of a beef kofta kabab, Greek salad, hummus, blackened broccoli, seasoned rice & grilled pita. Excellent flavor, albeit not as tender and juicy as the gyro. The wine selection was excellent - full of full bodied wines that pair well with Mediterranean fare. We tried the Passionfruit Mule and were big fans.Even the kids menu was fantastic - my daughter absolutely downed grilled chicken and crinkle cut fries. Normally I can only get her to eat hotdogs, so this was a very unexpected win for us.I ended up taking home their Baklava, and it was similarly perfect. This is going to be my go-to Mediterranean stop for guests to Arizona. A must visit.

What a fantastic restaurant! We found it through Yelp (thank you, Yelpers!) and loved it. It is a small restaurant in a strip mall that is well worth a visit. Chef Sandra, from Egypt, and her husband Nick, from Lebanon, made us completely welcome and served us first class Mediterranean food. We started with Baba Gannouj, a classic appetizer of roasted eggplant, tahini, garlic and lemon served with wonderful pita bread, which raised our level of anticipation. Nick answered all of our questions and, when asked, gave recommendations. I took his suggestion and ordered the Shish Tawook Grilled Chicken. My wife selected the Pear and Pistachio Chop Salad with a side of Bruschetta Caprese, and our dining companions split the Cyprus Salmon. We each loved our dishes. Loved them!My chicken was grilled with a beautifully tangy yogurt marinade, served on a bed of seasoned rice with tahini, and some nicely roasted baby potatoes. The chicken was perfect, and the blending of the yogurt, tahini and herbs/spices in the rice was comfort food at a high level. My wife's salad was delicately dressed in a house-made lemon-mint vinaigrette and had an abundance of chunks of fresh pears. feta and cranberries. Our partners raved about the salmon. The asparagus looked fantastic to me and tasted fantastic to them, roasted with a gentle touch of seasoning. As did I, they enjoyed the potatoes, too. The beverage list is well curated, with some nice Mediterranean-style wines (I had the tempranillo, a Spanish wine similar to a sangiovese. I also started with a Taza Delice, which is their take on a Mediterranean Mojito. Tasty and refreshing! We finished off with coffee, which Nick brought to the table in two small copper kettles (?) and poured into small cups, telling us that the grounds in the bottom can be used to tell our futures. Nick's description of the desserts was tempting, but we were simply too sated to try. Maybe next time, and there will be a next time.At the end of the meal, I realized I had been too busy enjoying the company, the atmosphere and the food, I too zero photos. If you want to check out their menus (please do), go to their web site: https://www.tazabistro.com/.

This place is AMAZING! Sandra and her husband have created a beautiful, authentic, lively restaurant serving some of the most creative and flavorful dishes I've ever tried. I love Mediterranean food but have never had Egyptian specific cuisine before, and I can't believe it took me this long to try it! I tried the Egyption national dish called, Koshari. It has cumin with onions spiced lentils, ditalini pasta, olive oil rice, topped with spicy garlic tomato sauce and caramelized onions. It was so tasty, spiced but not spicy/hot. I also tried the Pear and Pistachio salad with chicken which was also very taza (Egyption for "fresh"!). The dessert called Baklava with pistachios was very tasty but not too sweet, which I loved!I will be back next time I visit Scottsdale!

!Started the night sipping a refreshing Aperol Spritz, setting just the right tone. The Figs & Prosciutto melded sweet and savory beautifully, while the Apple & Brie was an absolute delight.Moving to the mains: the Lamb Chops paired with yellow potatoes and fresh broccoli, and the Duck bathed in L'Orange sauce, complemented by grilled asparagus and fluffy couscous.Dessert? Oh, a delightful duo of flakey fillo Baklava and a creamy Chocolate Mousse garnished with strawberries and cream.Chef Sandra outdid herself! Every dish was a flavor explosion. And, our Rhone Red wine was the perfect accompaniment. Big shoutout to Mitch and Niko for their top-notch service! The ambiance? Like uncovering a cozy secret spot in the heart of the neighborhood. Can't wait for round two!

Cute little family owned restaurant with excellent gluten-free options. The food was authentic, fresh, and tasty. We had the hummus with gluten-free pita and veggies, the beyond gyro, the Cairo platter and koshari. We would get everything again, except now we want to try other dishes that sound equally as amazing! The owner served us, and he was as sweet as can be. Try this place - you won't be disappointed!

Fantastic service and even better food!Charming owners who are just a joy to chat with. It is a tucked away place but well worth finding it. Hand selected wines which never disappoint and almost everything on the menu is or can be made gluten free/ celiac friendly. You can have the most amazing gluten free pita AND gyro meat. Don't skip the mezza plate, flatbread or baba. Just don't skip this in place at all. Gluten free or not... check them out!
