I just ate dinner here last night and I thought my dinner was fantastic until I got the final bill!! Martini's $17 apiece plus a $4 dollar up charge for Tito's or Tanqueray!!??. I'm sorry since when are these two upgrades Martinis!!! I also noticed that they charge us a 22% gratuity upfront!! While we were eating a band was playing which made things very difficult and loud (we were warned about) so I did not want to argue with the waiter...total damage for two people and for so so martinis , one appetizer and 2 smaller sized plates almost $200!! This is what I would pay at Mastros but their martinis are standard great ingredients +3 ounce of liquor!!I'm glad I tried this place. I definitely wouldn't be back. These up charges are ridiculous and something we should've been told upfront.

If not because of the decent wood-grilled lamb chops, I would have given ZERO star. I booked a table for 3 on Opentable. Upon arrival, we were greeted by someone who was not a host nor a server (security guard??). It was very clear that this is more of a typical family-run business and they are short staffed.Someone behind the cashier took us to a table for 8 far back, at the very end of the dining area, next to a kitchen. I saw an empty table for 4 that was already set up, so I asked the host to be seated at that very table but he said the table was "reserved" and he couldn't give it away. He did not explain why.. so I wondered what you needed to do to "reserve" that table.I saw two other parties who arrived after us and were served before us. They took their orders, and we just waited for SOMEONE to come to our table to take ours.Now, as much as I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt, we felt discriminated for being the only group of east Asians in the whole restaurant. We were excited about the food, but the whole experience and service threw us OFF from the moment we stepped in! I was this close to walking out, but didn't because it was Saturday night and we were hungry. SO MUCH for an automatically added 22% gratuity!!!

Terrible service. Waited 30 min for a menu after begging 3 different waitstaff. Finally received 1 menu but would not give us cocktail list. I asked the waiter to tell me about a few items and he was quite annoyed.

I've found my new favorite Greek Restaurant in Chicago. The decor and atmosphere at Taxim definitely reflect the cuisine and the outdoor roof patio is gorgeous. The menu is a bit intimidating at first (it was all greek to me!) but the servers were all patient and knowledgeable. The food feels very authentic and not catered towards "typical American" audiences which is very rare. I truly felt transported while dining here.

Sitting on the rooftop was an awesome experience, it is really nice up there. The food was very very yummy and they had a wide variety of options on their menu. Highly recommend the tzatziki and cauliflower as apps. Heads up there is a 22% gratuity added to ALL checks and they add an even higher amount of gratuity for bigger groups. I thought this was excessive which is why it got 4 stars. Other than that it was a great experience.

3 starts for ambiance & service ! The food is just OK my fav thing was the tzikiki with the pita dip. I also liked the flatbread which I forgot to take a picture of. The entrees were just okay but I would go back for the dips & flatbreads & ambiance :)

Amazing food with an equally incredible rooftop terrace. We ordered the tzatziki, giant beans, wild mushroom flatbread, and the octopus to share. The octopus was especially delicious and had a great flavor and texture!

Another great restaurant in the Wicker Park area. I loved the authentic Greek food and how the dishes are small enough to try several different ones. I generally find Greek food to be quite bland but I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors of the dishes we got. We got the beets, lamb and rice stuffed cabbage, sesame pastry, and the wild boar. The beets were a bit underwhelming, as they weren't anything special. But everything else was very unique and extremely tasty. My favorites were the lamb and rice stuffed cabbage and the wild boar. The wild boar was soft and tender and paired wonderfully with what I can only imagine was handmade pasta. Would definitely come again and try more dishes!

Very nice rooftop for a casual group dinnerService was very friendly, prompt and helpfulDishes were for the most part incredibly flavorful and authentic (lamb shank was a showstopper and octopus was incredibly well prepared)I definitely feel like the price point for non-mains was questionable so I will likely focus on trying other larger dishes next timeOverall still such a good experience!
