Reading through recent reviews, I see that we are all pretty much tracking on the same opinion of Tavern, unfortunately. We went on opening weekend for dinner and had AMAZING service and loved the cocktails and buffalo cauliflower. 3 of our dishes were cold or made incorrectly so we sent them back and they kindly comped them for us. It was a 'just okay' experience overall but we gave them grace since they had just reopened.I went back last week and we could not get over how incredibly slow the service was. We spoke with 3 or 4 different people (server, assistant, bartender) and somehow still had the slowest service I've experienced in a while. There were a handful of other tables but it was pretty dead and they seemed to have PLENTY of people working - so I have no idea what the issue was.Food was decent -- again, the buffalo cauliflower was a big hit and we devoured every bite. The fries were pretty solid and I liked the thin, crispy texture. 4 of us ordered an espresso martini (with reposado tequila) and they came out *very* light - you could see through mine. I sent it back and let them know they needed to check their espresso; it was almost like watered down, leftover coffee. Our party of 5 was there for over 2 hours and we did not order dessert. It was a disappointing experience overall and I really hope they can turn things around. Again, it seems that we are all pretty much on the same page with the way things are going.

If someone asked me to describe Tavern in one word, it would be "confused." For locals familiar with the old Tavern, erase that image entirely. Tavern 2.0 presents a new concept with a fresh face but carries the same old baggage the original left behind. A name change might have been more fitting. My experience was a rollercoaster, marked by exceptional and personable service that truly showed a sense of care. Special shout-outs to our server Bryce and the management team, Josh and Drew, for their outstanding hospitality. We began with the Ahi Tartare, a refreshing and innovative twist that I highly recommend to any sushi lover. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. Many items I wanted to try were unavailable, and a third of the menu was off-limits as pizzas were not being served.Let's talk compromises: we opted for the Chicken Parmesan, which was bland and uninspiring. The Wagyu Fried Rice, far from being a proper fried rice, was more of a mush, although the Wagyu itself had commendable flavor. The saving grace of Tavern? The cocktails and desserts. These are the only reasons I would consider returning after a few months to sort the troubles. The Smokey the Bear cocktail, in particular, stands out as my current favorite in Nashville. The pastry chef's creations were the highlight, salvaging an otherwise disappointing evening. In essence, Tavern is suitable for those unaware of its former identity. The menu feels like a chaotic amalgamation of offerings from all M Street restaurants, creating a disjointed mix of sushi, pizzas, Asian cuisine, Italian, Mexican and steaks. For those items, I'd much rather visit their original sources than settle for this hodgepodge.

Newly renovated and opened, the inside was super open and bright. We sat at the bar and were greeted immediately by the bar back. The bartender was very friendly and helpful. The drinks were really good and the Eden was super refreshing. The toast was so good! The spread, the kale, the berries, all mixed together were the perfect combination. The hash was just okay. It was pretty dry, but I'm thinking an over easy egg might help with that.

We were so happy to see the Tavern was open again!! We were pleasantly greeted by Lea, a bubbly gal that is new to Nashville. We ordered the Buffalo cauliflower app. Omg!! Delicious! The buffalo sauce was served on the side to keep it crispy, with instructions to toss it with the sauce. It was served with blue cheese sauce on the side. I was excited to try the blackened fish tacos, but they were not available, along with a couple other items. I settled for the seared tuna. I was disappointed. It was stone cold. Normally at least the sear is warm. It was served with a bit of cubed cucumber. I will say, I did love the wasabi honey mustard sauce. I managed to grab a couple of my boyfriend's fries. They were hot and crispy shoestring style, and yummy. I'll be back, the atmosphere is awesome, and the staff is so nice! Definitely worth a visit to this newly reopened restaurant.

2 years ago, I was SO SAD that Tavern closed. It was my GO TO brunch location (and happy hour!!). I struggle to write this review because my two (yes 2) experiences since the reopen haven't been nearly as positive as my prior experiences. I've gone once for brunch and once for dinner. Here's why my review went from 5 to 2 stars:- The ambiance/vibe has changed. It's moved from casual to a bit upscale in terms of setting. I'm a casual gal!- The sangria wasn't available during the dinner hour. It is available during brunch but there are no drink specials.- Service was a big overbearing and I imagine that they overstaffed for opening weeks.- The burger was awful. Fries were cold. The Tavern Burger is THE staple. It was on a tiny plate. The bun was overpowering everything. It's a no.- The drinks were good though! I can't remember the names of the two we tried but both were great!- The chicken and waffles was nasty. Waffle was hard. Chicken was dry.- They were out of quite a few things on each visit.- The best part - the buffalo cauliflower (as always)I suggest you try it out because it is a staple but hopefully your experience is MUCH better than mine. In that case, I may try it again. Otherwise, it's a no for now.

Best Buffalo cauliflower I've ever had. Mediocre huevos rancheros - it was missing something. Maybe meat or more salt or just flavor in general. Tasty sweet potato fries.Yummy chimichanga and very filling - heated up nicely the next day. Stir fry was incredibly salty - lay off the soy sauce and it'll make a heck of a difference. Most people weren't thrilled with their entrees but really liked the apps. Service was excellent even if the food wasn't. Their brunch 2-for-1 drink deal was great to help make up for the food. It's nice that you can switch between any of the options instead of staying with just one.

I came here for dinner with family during the weekday. I ordered the truffle fries to start for the table. For dinner, I ordered a burger and kale salad. I'm not a huge burger girl but this one made me a fan! It was prepared nicely, seasoned well and was a large portion. The kale salad was just ok. The ambiance was very nice and welcoming. I love that the restaurant has its' own lot so you don't have to struggle to find parking but if you go on a busy night, know that the lot is small. Our waitress was very attentive and then the manager came by and gave us a nice surprise dessert! I highly recommend this spot for any occasion as the service is great and the food was very flavorful. I look forward to returning and trying more from the menu

My husband, our son, and I went to the Tavern for the first time today. We were so impressed by the exceptional service we received that I decided to write a review. In particular, Drew, the manager on duty, was so friendly and attentive!! We enjoyed our conversations with him, and he checked on us several times throughout the meal. Our server, Emma B, was awesome as well. I can't remember the last time we have had this level of impeccable service! Hats off to Drew, Emma and the entire wait staff for great customer service. BTW, we enjoyed the food and drinks as well. The pastries/biscuits were the best part!

Only thing good was the ambiance, food was subpar to say the least. I wanted to like this place but I just couldn't find anything to like other than the layout and decor. I went twice once for dinner and for brunch ..Oh the bar staff was amazing and drinks were great , seafood pasta was blah, spicy rigatoni wasn't seasoned. Brunch service wasn't any better the chicken tenders are breaded with corn flakes and that's all you taste, my waffle was hard, best thing about brunch was the bread service, pastries and biscuits were delicious. My advice to future patrons is to not go expecting much
