I couldn't love Tata's more! My husband and I came for the first time last week and we can't wait to go back! First can we talk about the decor? It's so cute in there! Frida Kahlo art all over-OBSESSED. There is also a cute patio to dine outside. We got the empanadas which were devine. I can't decide what flavor was my favorite. Tinga, picadillo, chorizo and potato, & cheese and potato-all devine with the most delicious chimichurri dipping sauce. The chips and salsa were so tasty. For dinner had burritos. We made them wet-i had the red sauce and my husband had green. So yummy! We also had a side of elote. The servers were so quick, friendly and attentive. Also the owner Marci is amazing! She came over to greet us and make sure everything was wonderful. Best Mexican Restaurant I have been to in years! (I wish I got more pictures of the food-but we were too busy stuffing our faces)

Our NFL Sunday meal is Tata's Tacos on Lincoln Ave. I wanted tacos, but my only options were places on the way to our destination bc we were already late to kickoff. So Tata's it was. We got 3 steak tacos and 1 shrimp taco and nachos but with everything taken off minus the steak, cheese and jalapeños.... Weird, but it wasn't me that ordered that. The shrimp taco was pretty good and shrimp can be easy to mess up. The shrimp wasn't chewy, the crema added to the flavor profile and I liked the melted cheese when I was a lil hesitant about it. Shrimp taco is a 8/10. The steak tacos were good too. There weren't fatty meat pieces which is good cuz those give me the ick. I did prefer the shrimp tacos though. Combined rating is 7.9/10.

Here is another great place on Lincoln Avenue. It has lots of drinks and food with a better spin on Americanized Mexican stuff. Tatas Tacos is a great name for it: two of my favorite things! Find something for those who want something authentic, but not that authentic to be honest. You can get all kinds of margaritas and other cocktails, and besides tacos there's burritos, salads, and more. Came at lunch and we had a pretty good meal for not a lot as we thought it would be. It has pretty good prices. The drinks are the most expensive things. It's about $14 for a margarita. Pretty big though. I got the Cucumber Lime one. We also got the Vegetales Tacos. It's $5 each. These were filled with avocados, mushrooms, onions, and zucchini. Since they're not big you should get a few. There's also burritos if not wanting to get tacos. Great place for pretty amazing Americanized Mexican food. It seems like it's something that shouldn't be, but it is. The margaritas are pretty strong, and there's plenty to eat for meat eaters as well as vegans and vegetarians.

Came here with a friend last night and had a wonderful time. First, we stumbled into trivia night, which is every Tuesday night apparently - a perfect pairing with your regular Taco Tuesday! We did not need a reservation and were seated promptly. First, I got their Tatas specially made craft beer on draft, which was great. Next, their selection of tacos is extensive to say the least with so many creative choices. It's difficult to choose! My friend went with 4 tacos, and I went with 2 - each one different and equally as amazing. Our server was so friendly and helpful. We had a fun experience with a delicious, reasonably priced dinner. We recommend it and plan on returning!

Came in here while waiting on brunch. Ordered just two tacos, they were shrimp taco with like garlic aioli or something? It was delicious. Everything was fresh & the service was speedy. It was nice to sit on the patio and people watch. The inside is cool. They were just opening when I wandered in. I would go back on my next visit to chicago and try a drink. It was the service and speediness for me

I've been here twice. The customer service is great, really personable, the owner came out and chatted with us for a few minutes. We enjoyed Mexican Mules and Palomas, both tasty and the right vibe for an early Saturday afternoon.Appetizers were good, some of the tacos were a miss. I'd say lock in on the Frida, skip the Tux. The La Llarona is only for those of strong will.

So I've been back a few times and what I can say is they have some bad tacos, but with a little trial and error you can find some quite good tacos. The outdoor vibe is great, the patio is nice and there's seemingly always space. I've gone back for the birria tacos a couple times which are rather good and not everywhere has birria tacos. They're perhaps not the fanciest or most complex birria tacos but they're good. Some friends love Tata's shrimp tacos and I quite like some bbq taco that my wife gets a lot. The guac is overpriced so I wouldn't get it even if it is rather good. But they also have some jumbo chicken toothpicks which are really good and quite filling. Far better value than guac or chips/salsa.

Loved it! The staff was friendly and the space is nicely decorated. The menu has so many great options. The tacos and sides were all fresh and well-seasoned. Definitely my favorite taco place in the neighborhood!

Just a very average place. Ordered the taco platter(that was $25) for low quality "carne Asada" which wasn't even close to having flavor. I will say their salsa was good as a plus, but spending $20 dollars on two modelo+taco platter for 2 people shouldn't be $75+ a 20% tip.Oh can't forget see a $199 margarita tower on their menu. Just insane pricing, if you want actually great food head over to el tapatio
