Tasty Mandarin

Summary: Delicious, authentic chinese foodI've been looking for good chinese food since I moved to San Diego from the Bay Area more than 15 years ago (circa 2008). I always assumed there was little to none besides Minh Ky (porridge & pan fried shrimp), Tim Ky (wonton egg noodle) & Diamond Palace (Dim Sum) until I went to Tasty Mandarin and ate some of the most delicious food ever. Their mongolian beef and egg drop soup was wonderful. I also plan to get their egg foo young as well as beef chow fun now that I know how good the food is. I wish I went here sooner but I wanted to try their lunch special first before cashing in on their non-special dishes.Service was quick. I wanted to get some salt and pepper wings for my sister for mother's day. I saw this on Yelp and headed that way.Parking did not seem to be an issue, staff was very attentive and helpful. Food came out hot and fresh, fairly fast.Items ordered:1. salt and pepper wings- pretty tasty, would have been better if eaten fresh hot (in house vs takeout). I wish the breading was slightly less but flavor was super good. 4.5/52. Salt and pepper pork chops- too much breading and the pieces are cut up randomly. I think good standard salt/pepper seasoning, but didn't care for the meat or breading. Wings are a hit, this is a miss.2.5/53. Beef and Broccoli- Tasty and delicious, the meat was cooked perfectly: all velvety, tender and delicious. Broccoli was cooked perfectly too, not undercooked or overcooked. 5/54. Crab Rangoon- standard ones, pretty good if you like these 5/55. Beef Chow fun- My favorite kind of noodle, the beef was cooked well, soft and tender. I think could have had less bean sprouts and more green onions, flavored well. 4.8/56. BBQ pork lo- mein- This was a good dish as well, Noodles were bouncy and chewy, BBQ pork was pretty good. It had some in here, but could always have more. 4.7/5I will definitely go back again for certain dishes.They have a very large menu too.Food: 4.5/5Ambiance 4.5/5Service: 5/5

Been coming here for years and Tasty Mandarin never disappointsCan't go wrong with either of the dinner specials, I usually order the dinner special #2 for 2 people and it really could feed 4 or 5 people The salt n pepper recipe they have is top tier so really anything on their menu that is salt n pepper is really good. I've tried the salt pepper Green Beans and shrimp and they are crazy good. Everything is always fresh and steaming hot as well An Honorable mention is the Honey walnut shrimp. Super fire

I love this place! Best salt & pepper wings. Eggplant soo good and man! Such large portions. You can eat a few days on one order. This place is hard to beat. Wish it were closer to my house!!

You can not go wrong at this place! The food is great and the service is good. These wings are the BEST! The fry is perfect and the breading g is lite. The garlic, salt, and green onion mixture is amazing! These wings are so big too. They even give you rice with your wings unlike most places. We also had the Mongolian Beef. It was very tasty. The beef is very tender, the onions are cooked perfectly, and the sauce is earthy and yummy.

I came here to try the food because of their reviews. They didn't disappoint at all, great service and the ambiance is awesome. They fill your water and drink cups non stop and everything that came out of the kitchen looked amazing.

We are amazed to get some REAL Cantonese cuisine in this southern border. Family owned. Best food and best service.

Some of the worst Chibese food I have ever had. The cantonese chicken was fried beforehand and reheated and dry and tough and hard and overcooked. I asked for them to replace it and they came back with salt and pepper fried chicken which was even more overcooked. I said this is not good. The owner grabbed the plate and said be would take it off the bill. Then said you guys piss me off. If he would cook his food properly we wouldnt piss him off and he wouldnt have ruined our meal
